  • This talk was given at Lama Foundation in the Lama Dome on Saturday Evening, August 16, 2014 in the midst of a Sufi Sesshin Retreat. It begins with opening up to the Universal nature of our Sufi lineage. It goes on to compare the non-dual ~ Advaita path ~ and shows how it is embedded in the sufi path of Lover and Beloved. From there it describes the journey by connecting with what Hazrat Inayat Khan calls the God-Ideal. The filming ran out before the end of the talk which identifies the fourth stage on the Path to God, which is complete UNION, non-dual~!

To me, the non-dual path to God is the right-hand-path of the prophets and the dual path to God is the left hand path of personal understanding and experiences. The two merge in Islam; when one's understanding, practice, and experience are in line with the revealed and inspired belief, knowledge, and preaching.
9:19 George O Sale in a way can't be seen as the first translator, because he not only intentionally translated some passages wrong, but cut off half the middle of the bismillah and left out virtually every reference of love by and for God. It was the most popular translation in English for centuries. J.M. Rodwell and others followed, but M.M.P. was probably the first faithful translation into English and either the most popular or second most popular today. I know the Muhsin Khan or some other might be given out free and have more copied, but people

Indian religions express the same message. Specifically I find advaita-Vedanta(Hinduism), Sikhism to be very similar to the sufi thought. Even Buddhism and Jainism (although non theistic) give the same message.

same @ the essence of them all. Study 3 esoteric (any 3) & get the real msg (exame: sufi for Islam, Lacota for Native Merican, Mahayana'sDzogchen for T. Buddhism).
