We tour all of the levels of the shop, show each themed area. Everything from shells, to beach décor, to souvenirs, the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove has it all! Definitely a must do on your next Myrtle Beach trip! It's centrally located on the Boardwalk and also accessible from Ocean Boulevard. We always stop in while walking around. We too always get one of the mystery bags. Got our best bottle opener in one of the bags

Carmen give me a break have I ever been to the Gay Dolphin lol. I'm 68 my parents brought me there every year course my mom loved this place as she was a 6th grade teacher. With my kids we started taking them there in 1983 and my mom of course came with us. I really don't want to know how much I've spent there. Each year at check out time when the kids and me and my wife presented all our items for checkout it was WTF time. Pulled out the credit card and everyone left happy. Id say each year 400-500 bucks so I'd say I qualify for a Gay Dolphin frequent buyers award. That's been going on 40 years now and we will be back down May 6th. So I really loved the video. Like a chapter of my vacation life to garden city and myrtle beach.thanks Carmen and Brian. Guess I got a little chatty lol

One iconic thing you.kinda missed.... the "i got lost in the gay dolphin" t shirts... you can get lost kn there for sure. I understand the no backpack thing do they still allow you to have bags in general. I can see this from people comin in while on a day out shopping. Guess you could go there first

Been there many times. But haven’t been there in years. Kinda forgot about it. Don’t usually go to downtown Myrtle Beach when we are there. Stay closer to Surfside Beach. Definitely have To go back next trip.

I love that place! I’ve been going there while on summer vacations since I was a child. (I’m 56 now) last summer I purchased all of my souvenir items from there. It’s a staple of MB!
It really is a staple and I feel like their prices are reasonable for a gift shop right on the boardwalk!
I used to work there back in 1990 to 1992it is still my favorite place to go and shop

I loved your unboxing of the grab bag at the end, so fun!! I remember the gay dolphin having a wall of name patches when I was a kid, like the embroidered kind that gas station attendants would have sewn onto their uniform. When I went back in 2003, I was on a mission to get one there but they were all gone.
We love the grab bags - never know what you're going to get! That's a bummer about the name patches! I was so excited to find the Carmen bike plate!
I wanted to buy everything but I wouldn't have gotten it home on the plane 😂

What is it like in Myrtle Beach around the 4th of July,? I booked a trip for me and my family and I have never been. I usually go to Florida.

Can you recommend a hotel that’s on or walking distance to the boardwalk and beach please?
We have not stayed there but a lot of viewers speak highly of Holiday Sands North on the Boardwalk. We have stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn which is oceanfront but not near the boardwalk. We have a video of it here: ua-cam.com/video/UDkZZXgIMIU/v-deo.html

The Holiday Sands North! The staff are very friendly, you’re right on the boardwalk, and if you stay oceanfront, you have a beautiful view of the ocean! I highly recommend this place. Room rates are great!
Carmen where is best place to park now for gay dolphin visit. Taking some cousins and kids this year. This changes every year
It depends on how far you can/will walk. There is parking on 9th Ave N on the street and the large parking deck on 9th Ave N but those both charge a fee this time of the year. There's also some free 3 hour parking across Kings Highway/17 business by the large church and lastly there's a free parking lot behind the Grand Strand Brewing Company. But the free options require you to walk a little more than a block.

Same for us - it was there when we were kids too! :)
I would skip this "attraction" - this store smelled so bad! nothing in this store was unique.
