Disney and Pixar's #InsideOut2 is coming to theaters June 2024 with brand new emotions!
The little voices inside Riley’s head know her inside and out-but next summer, everything changes when Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” introduces a new Emotion: Anxiety. According to director Kelsey Mann, the new character promises to stir things up within headquarters. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” said Mann. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.” A trailer, poster and film stills are now available for what promises to be the feel-good (or feel-everything) film of Summer 2024.
Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, “Inside Out 2” releases only in theaters Summer 2024.

I’m glad Disgust is getting more to do this movie. She was definitely the least utilized emotion in the first movie.

I love how this movie is depicting anxiety as a good emotion. The first movie showed the different emotions importance but none of us dislike those emotions other than maybe fear. Anxiety is probably the most disliked emotion people have. But this movie isn’t gonna end by defeating anxiety, the “bad guy” of the movie, she’s gonna be end up being useful and important. Teaching people how to live with anxiety rather than bottle it up
As Sanders Sides taught me, in small doses Anxiety can be a good thing. It’s just when it gets too intense to the point of being detrimental when it becomes a problem. I do hope Inside Out 2 does put Anxiety in a more neutral spot similar to Joy in the first(unintentionally causing problems through genuine attempts at making the situation good)
Finally! Yes! it's like a violin, when there is enough tension, you can play a beautiful melody, but if there is too much, the string breaks. That is stress and anxiety. Without it. Our world would be as bland as wood.
To be fair, we don't necessarily know if she's gonna be good. She's coming off as the villain right now, getting rid of the already beloved OG characters (which reflects how Riley is tossing her true friends away for the superficial popular girls who are gonna likely turn on her first chance they get).
I can see this plot going one of three ways:
1. Anxiety is gonna get the full bad guy treatment
2. She gets a heel-turn moment and realizes that Riley needs her original emotions
3. She's just gonna end up boring us all by retreading territory already covered with Joy and Sadness in the first film (definitely the worst of the options - no one wants sloppy seconds)
Can we talk about how beautiful the lighting is in the first clip? They improved alot since the first film

So I have a lot of cringy memories from when I was a kid and whenever they pop up in my head, I pretend I’m throwing them into an incinerator. Like what Riley’s emotions do in a way.

Oh yeah, supressing memories, then having that feeling in the back of your head that something's bothering you, but you don't quite know why, eventually you realize the reason why you feel like that is because you've been neglecting those memories, in a way allowing them to haunt you in a sneakier way

Plus, with the type of person she is, her name could realistically replace the C-word in the near future.
I hope Mindy Kaling doesn't get hire for another show or moive ever again after what happened with Velma.

I understood! The film will be about them wanting to discard bad memories, without understanding that they are also important for Riley's development! And at the same time, Anxiety will give bad memories to Riley without knowing that they are bad!

Boy I know this is going with the emotions.
I remember seeing the first, and it was fun, uplifting, and emotional. Became my favorite Pixar, and I'm excited for the sequel. I love the concept of people changing and growing up. I'm loving the cast, and with the addition of Maya Hawke, I gotta say; summer's gonna be a busy.

Oh. So they finally learned to NOT override the mind sending off all the memories at once and accidentally knocking out the core memories and following the memories in the tube,causing the islands of personality to shut down and over time destroy themselves from the things they were made to do.
Is no one going to talk about how in the first movie they pressed bout that would bring in tube and suck in every emotional but now it's like that due to the events in the first movie that a realt smart detail

Yeah, I absolutely hate it when voice actors change, especially when a voice is perfectly suited for the character, to be honest I’m not the biggest fan of Riley’s voice in this movie, I think the old actor actually sounded more like a teenager than this one did, but we’ll see how she actually does when the movie comes out.
@@chickuwu518When the Voice Actors were approached, Amy Poehler accepted 5 million dollars to reprise her role as Joy, Phyllis Smith, the voice of Sadness and Lewis Black, the voice of Anger reprised their role too. Apparently Mindy Kailing and Bill Hader, the voices of Disgust and Fear didn't reprise because other than Amy Poehler, the rest of the main cast was offered only $100k, and I can understand why they left. We're lucky that Anger and Sadness VA's came back even with that offer at all.
I like that they now have a spring for sending memories to long term just incase if anyone got sucked up

Seems to be a lot happening for someone who's turning 13. I would think it'll focus on Riley turning 13 and through her years in highschool till she graduates. An idea for Inside Out 3 if that doesn't happen.
I missed Bill Hader voicing Fear but I don’t miss Kaling for voicing Disgust after Velma’s awful disgrace for the animation culture

Mindy Kaling isn't a good person, but she was an amazing fit for Disgust. The new VA isn't a suitable replacement.

I think I like envy since she's a beautiful color and she's cute! Ennui on the other hand may be French but she is boring she sounds almost like a Gothic French girl or something!? But I'll bet her color is indigo! And sometimes I sort of like indigo! A mixture of purple and blue and I love it! It sometimes made me think of the midnight sky! But I was also thinking there should be a third movie of inside out when Riley is about to become a mom of not one but two babies! And three new emotions called peace hope and love appeared to help Riley take care of her twin children! And Riley would have a son and a daughter so she could tell them apart! And I could picture disgust ignoring the screen when Riley was changing their diapers! Won't that be cute or what!?❤
