In the USA most places you can still buy a gallon of gasoline for less than a quarter.
That is a 1964 or before dated quarter. The 90% silver content.

My grandfather used to buy gas for a nickel a gallon and buy 12 get one free. Priced in silver coins, we’re currently more than double that price. I suspect, however, that if we eliminate the draconian taxes and regulations that have been imposed by local state and national governing bodies, the price of gas would Still be about a nickel.

Regarding Charlie Munger's vision. The elements that have led us to this juncture encapsulated in this quote: "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the Public Treasury.
From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the Public Treasury with a result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy always followed by dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years."

However, like you I did not support freezing individual bank accounts. That was a huge political overreach just like the 9-11-01 anti-terrorism legislation. It was dangerous and uncalled for. IMHO, it was enough to charge those people who broke the law and deny them bail in the most serious cases. Too many of them are probably still in jail but I don't know the exact nature of the charges laid against each one of them.

I guess Rick overlooked the risks an active shooting war has on Nuclear power. Lol
IMO nuclear is done, it's not worth the risk. If I worked at a nuclear power plant and war broke out, you need to leave asap or understand you will be held hostage by your government or the invaders. Best case scenario is you escape before hand, worst case scenario is you are held hostage to keep the plant running and dies in the process. (while upper management escaped)
Renewables might be less efficient, but they are decentralized and "safe".
If I am a Japanese nuclear power policy maker, I'd start moving all the spent fuel rods they currently hold on site ASAP. Unless they want to risk the fallout if north Korean ever targets their power plants.

As a uranium investor, you should always be worries about the risks not discussed.
Nuclear power is the most centralized form of power generation and the easiest for Authoritarian governments to control.
I dunno how 13 days ago Rick can claim to be a libertarian bullish on the most central form of power generation and not even have the war in Ukraine and Russian invasion as even being on the radar.
Interesting times indeed. I bet the March 19th symposium will be interesting... Maybe Germany and Japan are smart to move away from nuclear. Even if there is a painful transition.

I'm wondering why uranium equities crash with risk-on assets but barely move to the upside when there is positive news like the recently announced desire of the French president to build 14 new nuclear reactors, the Japanese restarts, etc, etc.
Maybe this lag is to test out patience before taking off. Who knows?

I applaud Rick in that he is the first I have heard that admits that he was wrong and he was caught up in conformational bias, in that his past experiences had blinded him of the ulterior motives of government and their totalitarian ambitions. In general, this is the problem with the baby boomer generation. I am only barely one generation in front of him. I hope the tide is changing and changing quickly because it will soon be to late and the pain to dig out of this "Reset", horrific.
