It's been too long.. Glad to be back!
Sounds like you’ve had Covid , I’ve been there with this , it’s taken me 2 month for the effects to now start to wear off, I had chest X-rays and had scarred lungs near the top, my fitness has flatlined but when you’re back in it you’re starting with experience rather that from scratch - shite but you’ll get there
Your content is a window into your life, it doesn’t have to been constant sprints and climbs . Go easy on your self we will still be watching 🤙🏻🤙🏻
I was going to say the same thing. Sucks big time. Got it right in the middle of training for a big event and put me back so much,
I've had covid 3 times now, this lung / heart thing happens to me everytime after too.
Good to hear you'll be back at it soon, missed your vids!
For those of us who love cycling, not being able to ride a bike is a real tragedy but it also makes us love it more when we return to it. Time for resilience and recovery friend. Good luck, I follow you closely.
Get well soon Keira. I had Covid then flu at Xmas too!! Hope we get to ride together this year
Thanks chica ❤️ I hope so too!
Welcome to NZ Keira. Hope you enjoy your stay!
Good to see you back, Keira. Thanks for sharing and enjoy new Zealand it's amazing on and off the bike😊😊
Good luck on your recovery! Enjoy your NZ trip!
You’ll be back in no time😎
Speedy recovery gorgeous girl! NZ is beautiful. My sister lives in Auckland and I’m hoping to visit this summer! Enjoy your time there, but do try to listen to your body. ❤❤❤
@Louise Vardeman the UK summer...? BRING YOUR BIKE.... we going riding...
Keira, best recovery wishes for you! I hope your health gets better. Getting a Oura ring was the best thing I have done as a "amateur athlete". Surprisingly, training less, feeling better, being better when training hard. Share a bit of your journey with it, if you feel like :) cheers
Very fine place to visit, hope you managed to avoid our wettest month ever - in the middle of summer, but just like the UK, the rain was warm.
Enjoy your time here!
Glad your back - get better soon. I am dealing with Long covid at the moment
You've had a tough few years and maybe all that change and stress has worn your body down a little also. It's all part of life's rich tapestry and as they say, it makes you stronger so we're all behind you and wishing you the best for 2023 and beyond.
Glad you are back. Enjoy New Zealand. relax while there and and slowly build back your endurance.
Hey Keira.. Hepcidin is a natural hormone that our bodies produce that prevent us from absorbing too much iron. Levels of this hormone are low in the morning and high by the evening, therefore you should always take iron supplements in the morning, ideally on an empty stomach and with Vitamin C to aid absorption. Also avoid dairy and caffeine for at least an hour after taking iron.
Great to have you back and hope you're feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed soon! ❤
BOOP. So glad you're feeling better Keira - know the feeling when you aren't well. Just need to build things up slowly... You're not the first person to mention Zinc supplements - clearly something in it!
Glad to have you back. Stay on top of your health.
Good to hear you’re on the mend. Will you be travelling to Australia?
Great to hear you are improving. Enjoy NZ.
Sorry to hear about the health issues Keira, good you saw the Doctor and definitely listen to their advise and your body. I'm sure you'll be back on the bike and having fun again soon.
Missedyou! Hope you heal up fast!
I’m sure the summer NZ will help with your recovery . Good to see your still smiling! Look after that there body and mind , the Mcvitty will be strong again ! I can feel the energy …..
Welcome to New Zealand. Hope to see you around. Take care 🙏
Yay, welcome to NZ. Hope you are having a fun time and not caught up in the stormy bits. 🙂
Sorry to hear you've been poorly. Hope you get back to feeling yourself soon. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures in 2023.
Fast recovery Keira ;-)
I hope you’ve spent most of your time in our South Island as we’ve had an absolutely crap, record wet summer in the North Island. I’m glad I had 3 weeks of sunshine in Melbourne!
So glad to have you back uploading videos! I hope your lungs heal up quick :)
Get well soon!
Once you're feeling better, I'd recommend heading to Queenstown. Very scenic. It's mostly a Mountain bike community but there are some cool trails rides along the lakes and mountains. Enjoy New Zealand it's an incredible place.
One month of respiratory infection with inflammation is actually nothing unusual. Living in Canada, I've had many bouts that have gone on for 2 months or more, with the same symptoms as you. There is nothing you can do except rest, because these are often viral infections. Indoor dry environments in the winter often make it worse which is why people add humidity with humidifiers or special masks in the winter (for outdoor training in temps below -10C). Recognizing it is summer there, it is probably unnecessary. Sauna is another thing that I've done and found relaxing. You can absolutely regain your fitness!
Bouoooop!
Hang in there, it's a long old road and you'll get back to where you want to be.
I hope your health improves quickly and that you still get to enjoy NZ anyway.
No better place to recover than NZ in the summer!
Hope you’re enjoying NZ, look to be in a drier part of the country than me so you are winning there!
So sorry to hear this McV! Look after yourself and be sure not to take short cuts, yah hear? Get rid of it! Enjoy NZ , in the meantime, very jealous, love that country!! All the best.
if issue is reduced in air con environment you have adult onset asthma, keep fit and train hard ... love your posts. Steve from Canberra where asthmatics rule
just be you and tell your story
Very well worth looking at Dr Eric Berg’s talks on UA-cam. Benefit of fasting. How the body works and reacts to different foods...
Honestly i would watch just a general lifestyle blog without the cycling content. Glad you're getting back to it though!
So pickles, kimchi, and kombuchas? Sounds awesome. I’m sure you’ll get back to 100%!
Do they say "I'm absolutely knackered" in NZ or is there another Kiwi expression for that?
It has been a while. I've been wondering where you've been. Great to hear you're feeling better...
I explain all in this :)
Watched it.
go to as many doctors as you can, always worth having more opinions.
Bah! dratted virus. Take her slow with the path back to recovery and fitness. We'll be here when you're ready dood!
Does life go to plan for anyone really , first time seeing your videos, you do cycling videos ok , don’t know your diet, keep in mind different foods tend to give inflammation which affects your internal organs , so as said different food intakes maybe affecting you and will not show up in blood tests .
Jabbed?
