I had the same problems one time it was a starter relay and the other time it was the purge valve. Purge valve makes it seem like you losing power and theyll start and drive, but when the purge valve doesnt "purge" thats when youll see those problems. When the starter relay goes bad, you go to start your car, everything turns on but the engine. It wont crank or anything but your car turns on, radio and dashboard. Im paying for a sts v8 right now because the owner before me didnt take care of it, but thats life, lets keep these lac's rollin and strollin!
@TOILET DUMPER It’s not the body control module. Unhooking the battery wont work, and with that ratchet button, any time it’s pressed, the starter will run if there is enough battery power for it. All the designed safeties in the system are defeated. as far as the actual issue, it’s in the engine control module. the computer is not properly responding to the wake up command it gets from the power mode master, so it’s not commanding the starter to turn. This particular engine computer isn’t programmed to “go to sleep” for about 45 minutes or so after no driver inputs. That’s why there’s no issue when people come back to the car after short stops and it works fine, but when they go to start it in the morning after it’s been sitting for hours, it won’t start. does that answer your question?
bob robertson a cheap/wannabe LoJack system malfunctioning? I guess that’s possible too for , but the car I was was working on was bought new from Cadillac and was passed to the original owner’s son in law. Never been traded in or to a used car lot. As far as mechs guessing and throwing a computer at it, I’m guessing you mean an engine control module, wouldn’t the malfunction keep happening and the customer figure out the mech got it wrong?
@@hesus2468 if by resetting you mean leaving the battery disconnected for an hour or 2 so the ECM will totally power down, you can try it. I doubt it would work, but I would have tried that.
