    I bought a $32 400watt inverter & $12 space heater from Wal-Mart (240watts) since the outlet in my Hybrid Pacifica is rated for 150watts (it powers the heater for about 3mins, then it must be unplugged to reset outlet). The inverter is perfect for EVs. Instant heat to warm your face & hands without draining the EV 🔋 & losing an already limited range of 33miles. I can easily remove this set-up during the warmer seasons but it will work for years to come. Too bad I just thought to do so in Feb instead of Oct when I purchased the Hybrid (learning experience). Small heater in addition to heated seats & steering wheel has extended my range. I never touch the vehicle heat unless I need to briefly defrost the windows on rainy days.

    The range extender is a great idea, portable, solar chargeable and helps keep main batteries in mid range. Far too complex like u said to hack into the car system.

    Fuse blew along with something else. Probably to high of resistance so voltage if battery drops too low and the device shuts off

    Any updates on this. I could use one of these, without the battery. i would connect this to a distribution panel off my RV house battery, or a battery pack (like an independent solar "generator). Using a power pack like an old jackery, and run the jackery out of juice and not run on my RV battery. The other option that would be great is a timer, set for an hour or 2 or 4. Can you separate the battery? Thanks!

    I have a 4S 4P battery with the same bms on my bike for the front light. The front light is an XM-L T6 LED Bicycle Bike Headlight so it can't handle the typical 8.4v battery with 8x 18650's. Having the higher voltage has made it much more brighter than it was with the 8.4v battery & instead of the runtime being 30mins it now lasts for hours. Anyway merry christmas.

      Good idea 👍 raising the voltage is the best way to get more energy. I bet it’s bright 😁. Have a good Christmas.

      Yeah it's very bright, these Chinese lights state 60,000 Lumens but who knows for sure really, if each led were pushing out 1,100 lumens then it might be 17,600 real world lumens.

    • @chrisredfield3240
      @chrisredfield3240 5 років тому

      I got some Chinese lights of e bay 10w 1600 lumens they were cheap so i'm more than happy with the light they put out 7-30v. They don't get any brighter with a higher voltage they just reduce the current they draw. Does that make sense. 0.5amp 12v. Drops to 0.25amp 24v per lamp

    Hi Andy I subscribed to you some time ago. With the recent energy crisis I'd like to use a drone lipo battery and the other smaller cheaper heater. They bumped up those original modules on Amazon to £50+!!
    On ebay I can get the second fan for about £10 or so.. so can I just hook up a lipo drone battery and which kind would I need? Would I also need a low voltage cut off for the lipo so it doesn't catch on fire or something?... the drill battery and adapter is good but the battery is now over £50+ as well. Any help you can give you be appreciated buddy. Keep up the good content!

    for about $80 you can get an arduino mega with a 4 line lcd in a kit which could be useful for monitoring the bms voltages

    Hey, I Know this is an older video but here’s an idea that might interest you. Connecting the BMS to a contactor/solenoid and having the BMS power it to make the connection from your battery to the load without worrying about over amping the BMS. You just need to make sure it stays below the cells maximum output rating. ua-cam.com/video/J2KH21Fwi9o/v-deo.html

    That's some powerful little battery. Around half a car battery effectively. But you can drain it 80% vs car battery 50% is under 12v

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  5 років тому +1

      Yeah lot of energy in there and you can carry it about easily. Not much heavier than a handheld power tool. Also way higher charging efficiency than lead acid.
