I cannot put into words how appreciative I am of your support for this series. I promise that more is on the way! Oh, and did I mention they'd be filthy? I'm also grateful to be quiet! for sponsoring two of our #PCDC videos this season. I don't charge viewers for these cleanings and their support takes the stress out of the process - which is very time-consuming. Cheers!

Opening up a PSU is as easy as taking off a few screw on the side PSU. Take the lid off and do not touch any of the electrical components and cables. Good luck!

@@tweakz_tech That Evga PSU is probably still under warranty, so it was the right choice to replace it. Some brands are placing the tamper stickers on the screws not on the separating edges of the PSU.

Just what I thouhgt, this one deserved a new case more than others, is the typical oem super closed system that obviously, like me in the past, changed the gc (and then the psu because of the lack of power on oem psu) to have more power at gaming. HP of course... mine was acer but my mom had like 5 or 6 systems from HP and they are pretty much like this.
New case, air cooler and maybe a similar psu would have been a lot better. And I mean, come on its a really old case XD it even has the ATI logo on it

A lot of people use battery operated screwdrivers that just get in the way, strip small screws and over tighten everything.

Same, I just hold the fan blades so they don't spin too fast. I also just pull the battery out of the motherboard and use an old tooth brush and light drizzle of water. Then bake at 200* for 10 minutes or so, you can skip the baking and air dry that sh't over night, or grab the leaf blower again.

This was my favorite episode I think, I like when you don't recase 'em and I think the upgrades to this PC were pretty smart and fit the case well.
Season 2 idea maybe deep clean a few laptops? Obviously upgrade paths on them are pretty small (sdd or ram typically) but the benefits from a good deep clean will be far more noticeable in the temperatures.

11:32 There are 2 mistakes in this built: 1) SSD connected to slow SATA 3gb/s port, instead of 6gb/s port; 2) RAM is not full dual channel. There are 24GB RAM = 2x8gb in A channel slots + 2x4gb memory sticks in B channel slots. Should be 1x8gb and 1x4gb in A channel slots, 1x8gb and 1x4gb in B channel slots

Temp diff can be huge 10 degrees or more. However most of the system you clean aren't that dirty and don't have dust build up in the critical areas that will affect temps. Failing fans and dried out contact cement will matter more. I wouldn't pull the system apart to clean unless I saw a temp issue, I just do a simple routine clean once a year, my machines don't get that dirty.
However I would always run a full suite of tests before and after, a post tells you so little.

Oh surprise! There was a PC underneath that dust dune!
Regarding the power, I use compressed air for elements like this, even notebooks that have many years of use (and disarming it could end up with bad weld problems)

I almost sneezed just by looking at this case before you started cleaning it. Good job!

make sure when you use the leaf blower, you don't overspin the blades or it could send an electrical charge back into the motor and fry it.

Oh big, I do the cleaning with compressed air, there is no need to even dismantle the coolers, it's so efficient.

I got the XPower A2 electric air duster and that thing is a beast for half the cost of the one he’s using. It’s equivalent to a leaf blower but handheld. Just thought I’d throw it out 💪

Never knew you were from the central Florida area. That is really cool considering I moved to Orlando about 2 years ago. Id have you do something with my pc but sadly mine isn't that dirty or needing much done to it. Love all the amazing videos you put out.
