I have completed my course on hospitality from this scheme, and yes I even got through an interview for job which I joined and worked for three months, could have continued working but due to this pandemic I had to come back home. The hostel Life during the training was one of the best experience in my life. We had fun and I really wished It just went on forever 😂 . It was just awesome.all thanks to DU

Excellent and important message for all unemployed youths out there. Just a little confusion here , why class 8th grade can't take up hospitality! Might discouraged some few who wants to pursue hospitality but below the mentioned standard. (fyi) there are tons of people below 8th grade already working in hospitality environment , some even getting manager and executive post (ofcourse after years of hardwork n dedication) I'd assume It's more about patience and willing to learn to get into this field rather than just having good qualifications.
Maybe there scheme is based on that way but I agree with you everyone should be able to work on their passion not force to work on something they don't wish to. I also work in restaurant bdw.
While your statement is true, it is also worth mentioning that people working in hospitality are expected to be fluent in a certain official language/s and must possess a certain amount of knowledge that education alone can cater to. While other agencies in the past accepted qualifications as low as 3rd grade passed, the standard is rising and we must rise along with it if we want to see changes, improvements and provide a challenge for those who aspire to join this field of work. Just my humble opinion.

DDU-GKY is a government skill development scheme that has a lot of potential. If focus is put on as per the requirement of local people, industries present; the flexibility to change and concurrent monitoring it can go a long way in alleviating poverty. Yes !! Indeed DDU-GKY is a great scheme that is launched by the Government. I'm currently taking training in Hospitality ! Everything is free ! No fee charges, It is indeed true ! Yes, DDU GKY is one of the best career maker for the youths but after completing the course. We have to work for sixth months as an Job replacement for them. As we don't find big companies out here in Nagaland. So, what they suggest us is that we should go out of Nagaland to complete 5 or 6 months in that companies. For some people, it lead hatred among the people. I said DDU GKY is good for the youth.. Thank you
