Yay for daddy daughter dates! We really liked the mini Carl/Rosalie walking around the map! That was hilarious. I LOVED that movie, Ghost and the Darkness! Classic. Ya I'd never heard of that other Lion either! That would be the WORSE way to go! Well... that or a bear... not sure there's much of a difference.
That movie was a classic and I even saw it at the movie theater. I didn't learn that these were here until I was in my 30's. Surprisingly, Rosalie's favorite thing to do in Chicago is the Field Museum. Addison was more of a Shedd Aquarium when she was the same age. The place is huge and still learning more as the years go by.
Some great features in your editing here. You are such a master at that stuff. Anyway, I either didn’t know the Tsavo Lions were here or forgot about it. I’ve only been to the Field Museum once, but had a great time
Carl- your little animated map was awesome! 😂😂 I had never heard of this story- it was very interesting and this museum looks like a really great place!!
Thanking you for noticing the animated map. I have always wanted to do that. Thanks to that, this video is almost a week late. So this comment makes me so happy. The museum here is huge and story of the Tsavo lions is crazy. Totally check out the movie The Ghost and The Darkness. Classic.
I liked the little map and the cutout of you and Rosalie.. that was cool! 🙂 I can see them roaming around in the desert trying to hunt, glad Rosalie will protect me with her pickaxe! 😂 I'm also glad Rosalie is happy to learn about everything about these lions, love the interactivity! Hope you guys are staying warm over there!
That map animation is only on screen for seconds but it took me forever to figure it out. So I am so thankful for this comment to see it was worth it. Rosalie is ready for the Zombie Apocalypse. We are finally thawing out over here. Was it cold there also?
Rosalie definitely has no fear. I carry it for both of us. Glad your cat was able to watch the first cat themed episode on the channel. What's the name of your cat?
I took my friend from law school here and her husband was a dentist. And he started talking about the bad tooth without me telling him the backstory. I was like, the first thing you look is his tooth.
Ok Im loving your editing upgrades! Fantastic! Did you take a new course or dive into new software? Great tour of the museum and information...esp the man eating lions!
Thank you so much. I try to learn one little thing with each video. This one took a bit longer, so the video was delayed. I have edited on Final Cut Pro for a few years now. To create the map effect, I used Adobe Connect and had it generate a dad and daughter. Then I found photos and removed the background (and also had to clean it up with magic erase). From there, I put it into Final Cut and animate by using key frames (very manual). Glad you noticed and that made my day. It will be much faster next time since I have the elements and know what to do.
Educational and entertaining! Your video editing skills are looking fabulous! Cheers

I had forgotten this story! Rosalie is getting to such a fun age to visit places like this.
Such a great museum!

Yes very interesting animals....hope they don't come alive at midnight..
Every time I go to a museum I think of that Movie Night at The Museum. That would be super scary - especially with these lions.

Oh man I remember that movie! I’ll have to remember to keep an 🪓 with me the next time I am in the wild 😂. My cat actually watched this one with me 😂

Very cool! I learned so much this morning. 🐱 Jenn
Glad you liked it. It was a different format from our usual vlogs but trying to change things up here and there.
I’ve seen the movie it was pretty intense…..
Thanks for the backstory!!!
