lol friends 60 foot cray boat(built in 2000) has V12 M-A-N powering it and it sounds awesome my dad had a V10 M-A-N powering his 56 ft cray boat (built in 1980 and a ex trawler ) too but the mechanic mucked around with it and crap its self he replaced it it with a horrible 6cyl Volvo but the v10 and v12 man love the sound when cruising at 13 knots and always hung out the exhaust outlets but man the them M_A_N engines are expensive hence why dad replaced it with a Volvo
Just for display of power, I hope one day MAN puts this engine on their truck, and test how much load it would haul up the steepest hill, and how fast it would do that.
casual 4600nm and 1100kw yer cant beat big diesels! oh well electric motors can: The largest ones ive been around were in a wastewater pumping plant one Motor delivered around 1200kw and was sending ~15.000nm/11000lbft down to the pumps which ran at 700rpm and produced a flow rate of ~2500l per second/660 us gallons at 4 bar/58psi. That was then pumped up 42m/137ft into the outfall sewer. And they had 10!!! of those gigantic pumps down there. Pretty sure you could throw a 4x4 lumber in there and the pump would shred that effordlessly.
converted it 1505 hp and 3430 lbft of torque … if i remember correctly MAN is MTU’s next step down and Doosan is the next…. MTU and MAN were or are one company, have some old engine data tags that says it ✌🏻
