For my thesis I have to get to know a (at first glance) very complex labview program that controlls an airconditioning plant. Your tutorials helped me a lot! thank you for your effort :)

    Hey everyone !
thank you for the positive feedback thus far !
my intent was too just do projects and upload what i did - however there is a growing demand for making tutorials and using labview for more real world integration like arduino !
i am all for honesty - i just completed my thesis - and am transitioning into the next phase - i promise u . i will try to make more and more indepth videos as well as some arduino work ! :) - i actually had to use that for my thesis - i will do my best !

    David,
Perfect! There are numerous LabView programs in UA-cam. But yours stand out because of QUALITY! In a tutorial like this several things are necessary for QUALITY and yours has it ALL! In my opinion, the QUALITY of an youtube tutorial video depends on -
    1. picture quality ---- yours is 100%
    2. Sound quality - yours is 100%
    3. Accent - yours is 100% (You have an accent - but is fully understandable and clear)
    4. Simple and attractive way of teaching - yours is 100%
In a nutshell I give you 100%, at least from my point of view.
Now here is a request - Can you please record some tutorial on the use of LabView with PLCs with the application of NI OPC Server /Shared Memory and DSC (Data Access and Supervisory Control). It uses LabBiew as an HMI (Front-end) to give commands and show status from a PLC(Programmable Logic Controller). There are a few videos out there, but not in English. Strangely, only Spanish guys have done those tutorials! And some only plays music in the background while dragging and dropping - god know what! --that's no way of showing how to do! That only like showing off! If you are familiar on what I am talking about, I would like to see a few put out by you! If not, with your knowledge, you can master it and then put those out to help millions!
    Thanks.

      dear Mr siddique,
this series (my first on youtube) is mostly about me doing my own projects while describing my thought process ..
in the NEAR future i will be starting a more in depth tutorial to describe the individual features of labview ..
my best advice would be for you to get to know what each block does and more importantly to know all the block types that you have at your disposal .. by knowing the tools u have will know how to tackle different problems ..
along the way and hopefully with the help of my future videos, i will be discussing more advanced techniques in labview that can help you make more complex projects.
for now, have fun with the program, try to do random simple projects and that will help you build up ur experiences with labview ..
      goodluck !

    David,
So far your tutorial is the best, you did show us step by step, by the way I am using Evaluation version, so there are limited, can you show us how to program with DAQ (Data Acquisition) by using Evaluation.
    thanks-

    • @dz550256
      @dz550256  7 років тому

      Hey K Dinh,
There are many forms of the DAQ - some of which attach to physical objects such as a sensor or an analysis unit - however i don't believe i will be able to make any videos on those subjects unfortunately - i do apologize for that - in the near future though i hope to make some videos that address acquisitions from other softwares on the computer itself :) - i hope this helps !
And thank you for enjoying the videos :)

Hi! I really like your video, good job on it! I have a quick question. How demanding is LabView as a program? Do you need a fast processor in your computer?
    Thanks in advance!

  • @hesperaux
    @hesperaux 6 років тому

I have to be pedantic and comment on your statement at 6:00. It is not true that a "linear" programming language can have no parallel execution. Parallel execution is attained by using thread or multiple processes, and is absolutely possible in C, C++, Java, Python, and most programming languages that exist. The Linux kernel, for example, is written in C and assembly and it certainly utilizes both threading and multiprocessing. It is worth noting that threading, which is probably utilized heavily in the background of LabVIEW does not execute things in parallel, but rather interleaved. Utilizing multiple processor cores does allow for true parallelization. I do not know if LabVIEW does or does not do this.

well that's all good, but how does it interface with the real physical items mentioned, say that dial was connected to a pump and you wanted the pump to switch/ react to the dial, run the pump and fill the tank, there is no interface between the software program and the physical items.
i want to know how this is interfaced to a physical system

Hi, Does anyone know the code to link up an outside source to Labview? For example, I want to stop a pump, adjust the flow rate of the pump, pause the pump using Labview assuming the connections have been made, but I can't find the correct code pathway to actually connect the pump to Labview. I just can't find the right markers on both panels to display the connection. Any input would be great. Thank you.

      Hey Captain,
I am 4 month late replying to a 4 year old video.
However, i totally agree with you, i believe these videos are absolutely horrible, and would not recommend anyone to watch them.
They were my first attempt at this whole UA-cam Video thing, and since i stopped ive been wanting to make short bitesized episodes (something like one on each functio) 5 minutes each kind of thing, but never found the time.
      Thank you for commenting though!
