Hello, I also needed a larger size, a 3T. I used a slightly thicker yarn and a J hook. I then got a 3T shirt and used it as my guide. Follow Simona's instructions but use the shirt in the size you need as your pattern guide. The neck ends up 21 inches long using a J hook, a bit big for a 3T but perfect for sizes 7-12. Add more rows until you have the same length you need for arm holes as your pattern piece (the shirt you are using as a pattern). Close in under the arms then just finish the number of rows you need till you have the desired length. Same for the arms. It worked very well for me. Good Luck
