The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare Movie Review

- Guy Ritchie has had quite an interesting career over the last decade, but he's really settled into this period/action niche. And I'm all for it. If there's one thing I'll never tire of, it's Nazis being killed in brutal ways. They're the most one-dimensionally evil bad guy possible. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare gives us that in spades, with what feels like hundreds of them getting gunned down before our very eyes. It's absolutely glorious.

Guy Ritchie made this movie as an essay about why Cavill should be the next Bond.
.....without the tongue. 😂
Ooh, yes please.
No one would give him James Bond so Ritchie made him the guy James Bond was inspired by
Wasn't Christopher Lee part of that outfit as well?
He was!
Gah! What?! That’s amazing!
He was sworn to secrecy after the war, but his tongue loosened towards the end of his life. 😉
Who would portray Christopher Lee in real life I ask?
So basically it's COMMANDOS THE MOVIE
But based largely from true events, sort of lol
Gus March Philips effectively laid the ground work for the SAS and SBS to be created unfortunately he died on in 1942 but his work from 1940-1942 truly did lead to black ops born in Britain.
I'm already sold, you don't have to sell me more
lol I thought I was the only one who remembers that game.
Whoaaaaaa I was thinking of the Commandos too!
To be fair, Fleming was in the office around that time (also see Operation Mincemeat)
True, and OPERATION MINCEMEAT, is excellent. Good call. And more fun, knowing it is also true (ish)
So its an English Inglorious Basterds then ? .... Uncouth Scallywags ?
Go see and find out. I doubt you will be disappointed.
Finally a movie to go to the theatre to see. Been forever for me
EXACTLY VIRGIL THANK YOU, ME TOO!!!
Precisely what I was thinking !
Unless you are in the UK where its gone straight to streaming
This film looks like everyone had fun making it. I can hardly wait to see it.
Hey Guy Ritchie. Good deal. I do have one thing to ask. Sherlock 3? When?
My son is taking me to see this movie on Sunday. I can't wait! To see Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson on the big screen together is a treat for the senses.
Shootin' Nat-sees? 😁Sounds like fun for the whole family.
I thought the thumbnail was Zach Galiafanikis at first glance... Which begs the question, what the f¥ck happened to Zach Galiafanikis?
Haha - got RIPPED
Didn't he have that weird interview show where he asked celebrities weird questions and behaved really rude?
Now that's a movie review, I can't wait!
It saddens me to know this movie won’t get the box office draw it deserves. There are great movies being made that just aren’t putting butts in seats. But I’m happy to see directors still putting out quality films non the less
? Just watched it and the Marjorie segments were the highlights of the movie bc they added a tense atmosphere that made the rest of the movie click. She provided the tenseness that the funny action guys couldn't provide bc they were literally just killing things and having fun. My family all agree that her moments actually made us like the film past the generic fun action movie flair.
I just saw Henry Cavill in Sand Castle with Nicholas Hoult. He's good in that movie too. Strong presence.
Looks like a fun movie! Ritchie knows how to entertain! 😁🤩
I heard from Grace Randolph that Cavil is barley in it , is that not true?
Henry Cavill is the star of the movie. He’s barely in ARGYLLE though, maybe she meant that.
I haven't been to the cinema since LOTR. I would have made the effort to see this on a big screen. Unfortunately, as I'm in the UK I suppose I'll have to make do with a 10 inch tablet.😢
Critics: Its basically the British Inglorious Basterds.
Me: I'm already in, you can quit trying to sell me on it.
I will likely see this and likely love it. I’m a huge Guy Ritchie fan, and this just looks like another step forward for him.
In the UK this will be on Prime. Who's idea was that!?
Terrible isn't it? Makes no bloody sense
Which is really weird considering the film is a mainly British based movie haha
Prime has the money to make it happen. Another reason I don't use amazon.
This movie isn't getting a theatrical release in Canada for some odd reason.
Dude - I know. Wanted to go see it!
@@JoBloOriginalsLionsgate is just such a pain in Canada both in theaters and with their physical media releases. Making it even odder with them being founded in Canada.
That is harsh....certain movies are so much more fun on the big screen.
Stiglitz!
Eiza gonzales is the only reqson i watched this movie and she was f awesome
There are very few movies that i look forward to these days but i really want to see this one, Jack Reacher and the Witcher in the same movie, what's not to love.
I tried to write my own comic book, like THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS....
I have a hard time finding that Ungentlemanly Warfare will be the best Guy Ritchie film, as The Gentlemen, Snatch, and Wrath of Man are all-timers for me.
think best sequal from GUY everyone want is Man from UNCLE-2
Seems unlikely with Hammer these days.
The mission was to neutralise the uboat threat off the East African coast, the true story is stranger . I think the movie the sea wolves was also based on it. The dept of ungentlemanly warfare was the nickname of s.o.e
The Sea Wolves and this movie are based on completely different incidents.
I'm here for it
Fleming WAS a SAS operative involved in the events.. sooo.... not really on the nose moreso he was kinda there
Well March Philips and Gubbins were real. Obviously it's exaggerated but the mission was real. And yes the majority involved in that mission were black (17 Africans to 11 commandos and 4 SOE). And Larsson was that cool as he was the only non Commonwealth soldier to win the Victoria Cross. So I'm sure that whilst it is appropriately ludicrous but at least the people and missions existed
*suppressors
Usually yes, but this case no. Correct WW2 nomenclature for the Sten is 'silenced'.
The fact that the Nazis are not portrayed as brilliantly cunning and intelligent tells me all I need to know about this film.
The best WW2 films portray the enemy accurately - as a deadly and worthy opponent, not mindless zombies to slaughter. At this point its just a tired and boring cliche...
I think this is very much in a comic book style. Like Sgt Rock
@@JoBloOriginals That definitely makes more sense. I just thought it was shady when I heard a commerical say the film is based on a true story? WW2 was real. Nazis were real. And I think thats as far as this movie ventures into reality...
You know they lost right.....
@@JoBloOriginalsFor an infantile audience.
The commandos were that good it made the nazis look incompetent
It's Totally💯Worth It!
Cant wait to c
It was a 6-7 at Best. Too much dialogue.
"The best Guy Ritchie movie"? LOL, Joblo's has gone nuts.
Let's take a moment to thank Germany, for providing us with the best Bad Guys in History.
So looking forward to this. Thank you.
Guy Ritchie needs to retire. He’s using the public to pay for castles and other hobby’s he collects. This new movie is a crime against humanity and if cancel culture is a real thing then he should be cancelled for it
best guy ritchie movie and u give it an 8? ok
Copy that
❤❤❤ Henry Cavill however filim 🥴👎
movie critics suck man
Excellent review, too bad Richson decided to give his opinions on politics, and turned his conservative based against him.
LovED the guy, but hey, you can be a good actor, but dumb as F.
Thanks, reacher I will now not be watching this film, or reacher season 3 because of your virtue signaling (arrest the cops that shot BT). Just like lewis hamilton, what an utter pair of simps🤔🤣🤣
Ritchson is shooting himself in the foot by talking politics.
When you see black people, women, guys behaving as football hooligans and super jacked muscle men, in a WW2 setting, you know you are getting a film about as historically realistic as the Expendables.
Which part of world war didn't you get? A huge amount, probably more than half of the combatants weren't white.
@@andrewstephen2359 Not in Europe they weren’t
@filippos13 uh there have been black people in Europe since before roman times dude. And both Germany and Britain had hundreds of thousands in their armies from the African parts of their empires. As did France, Italy, Holland.
@@andrewstephen2359 Where the hell are you getting your facts from bro?
@@filippos13
It's called the real world. You might want to visit it some time.
I was looking forward to this movie until Alan Ritchson started running his mouth and now, I won't see it and neither will my family. Sorry, go woke, go broke. Too bad, it looked fun.
Everyone everywhere doing anything has a different opinion to you about something. You should stop watching all movies and tv shows, and definitely stop commenting on them.
Now that we've had the predictable meltdown by one of the stars, Alan Ritchson(D), condemning the ticket buying customers... we're all ready to watch the movie crash and burn.
“While I’m sure the girl character was important in real life or whatever, she wasn’t important in the movie version.” 🫤
Basically true, and the black character (much as I enjoy this actor) did not exist at all. Totally made up for the movie.
