It's fascinating how much that town must have changed as a result of the books, and to consider that Stephanie Meyer had never been there before she picked it. Authors have been doing that for centuries (Bram Stoker had never been to Transylvania - he researched everything in the British Library) so it's not new, but it would be interesting to see how the internet has changed the process. (Maybe a cool comparative study between Forks, Twin Peaks, and Transylvania?)

This video was such peak aesthetic, I'm completely floored. I will always have such a soft spot in my heart for Twilight since it was my gateway into vampire and YA books, which has irrevocably changed my entire world in high school.
We spent four vacations in a row hauling the kids up there. The last time, three years ago my wife and I discussed the fact that one day the town will take all the stuff down and how sad it made us.

I was a kid (~11yrs) when the twilight book came out and they were In really import for me cos I m dyslexic and was seriously struggling learning to read and twilights simple dialogue driven style meant I final could get through the reading well enough that the plot get me interested to read more(me and my dad ended up tag teaming new moon cos I found it so much harder to read). It is the series that got me to read and for that I will forever be grateful.
I was in college when the first movie came out and after seeing it, I read the whole series in a week. (Ah the good ole days of summer break when I wasn't working and could mainline books from dawn until the wee hours of the morning.) As an adult, I can see all the issues with the books but it doesn't change my love of the books. My best friend and I are trying to plan a big trip for next year and I think this video might get this trip into our top 3 choices.
So cool to see what Forks is actually like! I remember reading the books in middle school and having a friend that *needed* me to come with her to see Jacob's abs lol. I'm not a big Twilight fan but it's a fond childhood memory. Thanks for this blast from the past!
Great video I’m a Washington native and it’s so beautiful here. Wanted to mention that right by my hometown there is a tiny town on a hillside called Kalama and that’s where they filmed the majority of the exterior school scenes in the parking lot of their high school. The interior school scenes were filmed at Madison high school in Portland. Sorry if I missed that in the video. Also that was just for the first film.
I love the Twilight series. I was 20 when the first movie came out. my friend, who was obsessed with the books, forced all of us to go to the midnight showing. I honestly thought I'd hate it, but I loved it. I went back and started reading the books. my favorite book is New Moon. for some reason, I always like the second book in a series more than the other books. Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, Maze Runner, and the After series. I really hope to visit Forks someday. it's on my bucket list of places to see, including Salem and Sleepy Hollow.

I live in washington state. Ive never been to forks. But i do love it here. Born n raised a Washingtonian ❤ Never read the book, but when i saw the movie and found out it was based in my state, i was kinda surprised.

most of it was filmed here in coquitlam, canada bc (vancouver) at my school and nearby schools and mountains/beaches. we have a monument at my old middle school where the cafeteria scene was filmed, i think it's cool
I'm actually Manifesting a Vampire Event, so I will be a Vampire. I'm also really into Vampires, especially Vampire Asmr. I believe the ones I like best are the [Willing Listener] tag. But yeah, I've been considering becoming a Vampire. I'm just having difficulty finding one. But Yeah, I wouldn't refuse being turned. I've always wanted to be a part of their World.

Safe to say Transilvania didn't change due to the Dracula book, except for the few themed tourist traps that popped up past communism.

I frequently say that the filming location is the only good thing about the Twilight movies. My family is from the NW so it's nostalgic for me.

Yeah I live about an hour from Portland and honestly most people who can avoid it tend to nowadays. Just a lot of homeless and vandalism in some parts
