I would like to address this as a Congolese Patriot Citizen.
Long story short. The government of Mobutu naturalized the tutsi has Zaireans after a conflict that broke Rwanda in 1959 where the Hutus were killing the minority of Tutsis. So we admit that the Tutsis are Congoleses by election. If we made them Congolese why are they gonna be special people more than other ethnic groups? We have more than 400 ethnic groups. Les banyamulenges has to sit down and contribute to the development of the Congo. Now the problem start and the whole world knows. The banyamulenges were strongly connected to their brothers and sisters in Rwanda, the rwandan Tutsis. There has been many reports of UN and other allies that prove the betrayal of the banyamulenges against the Congolese people, these people they’re in complice with rwandan government. That’s why the Congolese people had to rise to denounce this act of betrayal. Then they are saying the government are not protecting them? That nonsense Mr. President. We recognized that this problem is Congolese conflict so why Kagame has to involve? This has nothing to do with him, Mr. President do you ask Kagame what he is doing in Congo except to steal minerals and send them to America, we know the history of Rwanda they never had any minerals in their soil except the agricultural sector that they have been doing. Mr. President how can a such country become a 1st county in Africa to export minerals abroad? Tell me Mr. President!
Recently the EU signed a deal with Rwanda to export the minerals, where are they supposed to get those minerals if they are not coming from the east of Congo. The blood 🩸 minerals, after killing our children our mothers and fathers. That’s an insult.
BUT THE REVOLUTIONARIES ARE RISING UP. CONGO WILL NEVER FALL INTO ENEMIES HANDS. CONGO IS PAYING THE PRICE FOR THE REVOLUTION AND THIS WILL HAPPEN SOON.

Why are we unable to comprehend that artificial borders drawn in Berlin cut communities into different countries? It's a fact that the Congo Rwanda border left rwandese in Congo much as others came later as refugees. Very good speech with valid points. As Africans, we should try to resolve some of these issues ourselves. I wonder why we are so involved in the Gaza conflict when we also have issues in Sudan and the Eastern Congo. South Africa has been leading in taking Israel to the ICJ. Let's focus on our problems first, then address others. I hope this speech reaches many Africans.

Congolese who speak Kinyarwanda found themselves out of Rwandan border due to European artificial borders therefore become the citizens of Congo by default same as Masai are originated in Tanzania but some went to Kenya due to borders then become Kenyans. In addition, They are also Kinyarwanda speaking Ugandans who are accepted by Uganda as Ugandans . why those Rwandaphones in Uganda originating in Rwanda did not return to Rwanda same as President Kagame and his men/Women ? The answer is simple, it is because they are on their motherland and not refugees there. DRC people and leaders must recognize and accept that Banyamulenge are at their motherland and they will never be considered as Rwandese unless you chase them with their mother land . Period !!
Easy answer. Basotho (ethnic group) are found in both Lesotho and South Africa. Those in South Africa are South Africans(nationality) and those in Lesotho are Basotho (nationality). This is the same for all the ethnic groups that SA shares with neighbouring countries eg. Batswana, Xhosa, Ndebele, Tsonga/shangaan etc.
Congo is mistreating the ethnic Rwandan people of Congo nationality. This is called tribalism. Now Rwanda is responding with supporting rebel groups to protect ethnic Rwandans that live in Congo and are of Congo nationality. But as the former president said, the Congolese government does not have full control of the entire country so a lot of bad things are happening and they are not stopping it. He is not picking a side between Rwanda and Congo, but simply explaining the cause of the conflict.

How many times have we negotiated with the armed group since 1998? Always the same ethnicity. It's been more than 5 times now, and they always play the same game. They always want the key positions, but don't other peoples have rights too? Why only them? Why not the Hutus who are also in Congo? We've already tried negotiations several times, all for gaining control of the entire territory. Take the example of the Rwandan general and the Rwandan intelligence director who were among the rebels of RCD Goma and fought. They were Congolese, so why did they return to Rwanda as heroes? Even Mr. Mbeki sent his soldiers to defend Congo. We all know it's a plot brewing against the DRC. We live with many neighboring tribes, but we don't have problems. Know that we have 9 neighboring countries. My own parents are Angolan, but I was born in Congo and I feel good here. Stop lying, you are a great man respected worldwide. With all due respect, President Mbeki should stop the nonsense. The RCD rebels was a creation of Rwanda, who doesn't know that. This all started with the FDL of Laurent Desire Kabila (created by Rwanda and Uganda, video evidence of both Museveni and Kagame talking about how they recruited Kabila still exists). In what human history have you seen a military chief of staff serve 2 different countries. First James Kabarebe was imposed in DRC then was nominated in the same job in Rwanda when RDC government of Laurent Desire Kabila thanked them and asked them to go home. Where in the world you've seen a general (Laurent Nkunda), leader of the so called Congolese-Tutsis led group of CNDP, which was the new name of RCD, go back to Rwanda saying his mission in DRC is finished and he's back home ? Where in the world you've seen a new leader of the so called Congolese-Tutsis of the new M23, which in its turn is the new name of the CNDP, Mr. Bosco Tangada, once arrested and transfered to the International Penal Court, denies in front of judges and cameras of the whole world being Congolese and claimed his Rwandan citizenship ?! Where in the world you've seen a so called group of Terrorists Kagame cries about (the FDLR) spend more time killing the Congolese and has never attacked Rwanda in 30 years, but yet Kagame says they are the ones in trouble. How for god sake a country like Rwanda becomes the first export country of minerals they don't even have on their soil (and this is scientifically proven falks) ?! So, let stop playing dumb with a country that has already lost more than 15 million people in the name of international greed. You cannot expect Congolese to accept a situation where everyone agrees to close their eyes on the loss of lives, and yet they want us to be part of the great African union. He is missinformed about the baniamulenge...... In 1994 when the genocide ended in RUANDA the ruandese took refuge mostly in kivu provinces then baniamulenge who lived in DRC they voluntarily went back to Rwanda and some of them stayed in DRC who are now in the current government as ministers for exemple AZARIAS RUBERUA ; Alexis Gisaro.... Etc..... Now these nyamulenge who voluntarily went back to RUANDA they don't want to comeback peacefully and stay as they used too. In 2021 one of their minister in current Gorvement wanted to claim one of their territory nyamulenge as their own country then the plan was intercepted by the Gorvement; after that the m23 (banyamulenge) decided to take arms... By the way drc has so many ethnic and the Gorvement told the banyamulenge to come and live as ordinary citizens unfortunately they don't want that .
They only think they want is to take kivu province and control it by force by fire.
One more last one is to what Mr mbeki said that during mobutu regime ; the tusi tribe were facing harassment that's a big lie.
all ruandese in kivu province lived in harmony with one another; no ruandese tribe either tusi or Hutu was harassed during mobutu regime by the time the country was ZAIRE.

Let me give you and example: I'm being hunted by killers and I come to seek for refuge in your house me and my kids then you take me in and you give me one room to live with my kids you feeding me and you gimme us access to use the groceries in the house eat and enjoy.
After living in your house for years now you dead and my kids now start stealing and selling the groceries to the neighbours now neighbours support my kids and give them guns to fight your kids claiming that room it's for them and they want to kick your kids out of the house or cut and separate that room so they can take it as their own includingthe groceries kept inside... would your kids let that room go ????

If there is a war in South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia and other SADC members have a right to INTERVENE. This is Not an invasion according to signed agreements between SADC member countries. The agreement does not permit one SADC member's military to enter another's territory... That is an INVASION, but permits if two or more SADC members military do. However the intervention must have been discussed and agreed upon by all members states.
I would think that East Africa has similar agreements. Rwanda is also not working alone, there is Uganda as well.

In Kenya we have Somali speaking Kenyans in northern Kenya on our border with Somalia. Of course we had challenges in the 70's when some of them felt they should be part of Somalia. There is nothing to do with colonialism. DRC has 9 neighbours and the Tutsi situationship we have with gundreds of communities along our borders but only Tutsis who are being a problem.
Thambo Mbeki is either a liar or ignorant or getting stupid. 1st In both Kivu Tutsis are not majority they represent less than 5% in the Eastern DRC region, and less than 0.5% in the whole country.
DRC do recognize Some Tutsis and Banyamulenge as congolese. But what Mbeki is failing to say is that there have been unrest in Rwanda even before their independence and many Rwandan were coming as refugees in DRC. From the 1960. That's where the issue is, Rwandan refugees who want the right as citizen, it will never happen. Congolese are not stupid, like in SA are they going to allow a ndebele from Zim run for MP because they are Zulu speaking or because his parents came to SA as refugees? No, for the obvious reason. Does it mean that SA will be discrimating Zulu speaking people in SA? Let's not mix things up. Kagame is using that confusion that Mbeki is displaying to make DRC look being hostile to Tutsi speaking congolese, even during Mobutu time as Mbeki tried to demonize a dead man, which you don't do as an African to respect his memory, since the same Mobutu was good when he led African to fight apartheid in the UN and even financing ANC like no other African countries, Mobutu always worked with Tutsi speaking Congolese. His office chief of staff in the 70s was Tutsi born in Rwanda, we had and still have rwandophones in our government and parliament. Kengo wa Ndonndo that Mbeki knows very well, a Tutsi from DRC, have been prime minister many times and president of Cenat for more than 10 years under Joseph Kabila. Meaning if kabila died or became incapacited for any reasons he would have become President. And we have had a Rwandan, James Kabarebe, chief of staff of the DRC army with Laurent Kabila and Azarias Ruberwa as Vice President under Joseph Kabila. For a tribe that represent less than 0.5% of DRC population we must agree that they always been placed in best position in the DRC hierarchy and politics. In our army they are better represented as generals and colonels, reason why the can easily start a rebel group because in a way the control the army. In DRC we even jokingly say Tutsi don't like being businessman than general in the army, it's a joke but they know why.
Mbeki won't deny these facts. And only that kills the argument that congolese must recognize Rwanda speaking population as congolese, How do we do that more than what I just presented. It must also be noticed that DRC has 450 tribes and none of them is majority and not all of them have ever had the chance that Tutsi have had in DRC politics. Some tribe never saw a MP in the parliament or a minister and they never took and will never plan to take arms against the country. So Mbeki must stop lying, as I believe he's not ignorant.

Tutsis are the second largest ethnical group after the Bantus in the DRC, they were Congolese and have always been. The armed groups are Rwandans.
