Royce Lewis has said “I don’t do slumps” and then proceeds to go on a 2 month slump. He also said while mic’d up how “Rocco treats everyone amazing” and immediately after Rocco began throwing the team under the bus. Royce also claimed that the team was going to be “just fine and will figure it out when it matters most.” The exact opposite happened. What a rough stretch for him.
There has to be accountability during the offseason. Rocco is not entirely to blame but his team falling apart 3 of the last 4 years does merit some serious scrutiny regarding his leadership.
How can anyone say don't fire Rocco? I remember many games where either Rocco or some other person higher up made some unbelievable head scratching decisions. The righty left matchups was infuriating!! Taking one of your best hitters like Trevor Larnach out in the 5th inning for Manuel Margot, only to have the other manager change pitchers was one such instance. The other team outplayed you on that one. You took a good hitter out in the 5th inning, so he's out for the rest of the game, then you have Margot for the rest of the game. There are many many more examples. I have to believe it's Rocco who made these decisions, but if not, if it's a decision made by other management, then they need to be replaced too. Either way you need to replace Rocco. I can't argue that it's ultimately the players fault. It is for sure. But Rocco, the 3rd base coach and others have to go.
You are exactly right! Baldelli's adamant belief in righty/leftie switch-ups has cost the Twins plenty of wins! And that has nothing to do with his screw-ups regarding pitching changes during games!
True story. He did sign my kids ball, wished him happy birthday, and took a picture with him so cool enough dude. But he hit like garbage and no amount of nice makes up for that
A lot of ranking of minor league prospect systems currently have Detroit and Cleveland ahead of the Twins. Things won’t get better with the same 3 stooges at the helm of the Twins.
Larnach and wallner are tired of being pinch hit for in the fifth inning for scrubs. Rocco lost the team with his constant pinch hitting, and taking pitchers like.ober out with 83 pitches and 1 hit given up. Cant expect players to be invested if their manager is sucking all the good vibes out of the club. Rocco is the worst manger i have ever seen. No wonder the Cleveland player gimenez yelled thank you rocco after they clinched.
Owners abandoned the players. Glad the players abandoned the owners. Shit cuts both ways. I would be demanding trades if I was any of the good players on this team. If owners don’t want to commit and win why would they want to play here
Clueless 2nd and 3rd generation ownership that doesn’t care if the team wins, a bottom 5 front office that worships analytics but doesn’t understand them, a bottom 5 manager and coaching staff that would be out coached by a middle school equipment manager, the worst training staff with the most injured team for years that never changes anything, a whiny star that was part of the worst cheating scandal that was caught this century, and we wonder why a top 10 talent team can’t make the playoffs and crumbles down the stretch. Hmm. Let’s think for a minute.
Fire Rocco - 95% of all problems solved. Worst manager in Twins history. He has been directly responsible for around 20 losses. Ownership is fine, I'll give them a B+. Baldelli a straight F.
@@Brose3240 Sure. They fielded a team with a higher payroll than Cleveland, Detroit, Kansas City, and several other competitive teams. Baldelli though. Put a chimpanzee behind the wheel and he will crash it, even if you give him a Porsche
@@thelastwordreview How do you feel about the TV situation? Cutting payroll by 30 million after our first playoff series win in over 20 years? And less than nothing done at the trade deadline.
@@Brose3240 I would have liked to have kept some of the pitching from 2023 intact. I understand Sonny Gray was out of budget, and he got a well deserved baller contract. But Kenta Maeda pitched well and was picked up for peanuts by Detroit. Sure, Maeda had a worse 2024, but it's indefensible that the Twins didn't try to keep pitching staff in better shape for 2024
Until ownership changes, I don't care if Walker Jenkins is the second coming of Christ, I'm out. Pathetic team. Pathetic ownership. And how convenient the guy who blew it last night, is literally named BLEWITT!
“They got the diamond, we got the shaft.” The Twins got their stadium and it’s nice, but they never gave us a serious team. Only solution? Stop supporting a substandard product.
Rocco should get fired, but that isn't going to solve anything. This is an organizational thing, organizational failure. From ownership to front office to management to players.
How can you get invested in baseball, when the owners tell you you will have to buy a special subscription to watch from 100 plus miles away. The Timberwolves and the Lynx know how to gather new fans. The Twins only find ways to alienate your supporters .
Imagine less than eighteen thousand people at Twins games next year and no one watching the games on Tv, now don't imagine.
Three way tie for Turkey of the year Joe Pohlad, Derek Falvey and Rocco Baldelli. 🦃
Nah Joe is on a whole other level
You mean the pohlad's lied about competitive teams for a new stadium plus renovations, no way?
Imagine that 🙄
This last month of Twins baseball has been absolutely disgusting!

How fiting that the last play of the game was Captain Carlos Correa dogging it down the line. I agree Phil.
He opens his big fat mouth and then contradicts himself by not even trying hard. What a joke.
Phil nailed it…the whole organization is “unlikeable”…

Could you imagine having Austin Martin pinch hit for you, strike out, then go out in the field and look like an absolute fool? Multiple times to boot.
You are spitting truth. And that’s just scratching the surface of this disaster.
We need a curt angle chant " Twins suck, Twins suck"
Someone put Joe Pohlad in an ankle lock
Just an observation but the losing seemed to begin when the Twins cut off the girl singing God bless America on July 25th.
The Twins can't be that stupid, I remind you of the Delmon Young trade!
At least he hit almost 300. He looks like a star compared to this bunch.
