See, the main issue I always have when I talk about magnets is that they're just *so* polarizing..
Yh, I'm just repulsed by people talking about them
I think you should all be bar-ed from UA-cam
@a random imperial knight no need to be so *negative* look on the *positive* side of it..... EHHEHEHEHEH
They are not just polarizing but bi polar
I know right? Shame that don’t make my minis look attractive.
Man I remember seeing those boxes when they first came out and thought "nah I don't need them" but seeing how you used them on the magnetic shelves? Genius. Now I want them.
You guys definitely need to add LED strips underneath the shelves. Maybe even on the lip facing the wall for indirect lighting. That way it defuses the light and looks freaking cool/artsy at the same time.
Dave ordering more stuff for himself in the email is me every time my mom asked me to go grocery shopping
A couple recommendations:
1) For games workshop bases it's better to put some putty under & around the magnets both so they are flush with the bottom, and also to add some material around the magnets so they don't magnetize to one another.
2) for your bases that aren't hollow, you can print a ring to lift them up so they aren't tipping around on the table top.
I suppose with strong enough magnets, could you not just place them directly onto a metal wall with no shelves at all, sort of warmongering fridge magnets?
I was thinking get more of the metal strips and mount them on the underneath side for added room, and hilarity.
Congrats Dave on getting into your ol'hammerhead! Posability of magnets better than my pin mounts. Enjoy the railgun 👽👍
Hi! A video idea I had for y’all, NMM, but painted using metallic paint. Like tackle the painting process as though it were non metallic paint, but actually be using metallic paint. I would honestly be curious to see how it turns out
Ninjon has made a good video about this :)
This is the normal process for painting true metallics...
Need to add some LED strips under each shelf to light up the models
Uff the audio is painful in that corridor! Nice video on magnets though! The corridor looks like it could use some more colour, maybe a mini themed mural?
Also, I'd love to see a video on the painting of your hammerhead :] Are you going to customise it to fit with your Japanese themed Tau?
Xjdjdjs, why did I try to blow the little plastic shreds away from the cut Dave made with the saw
Omg the drill over Jazzas head 🤣
I cringed every time one of those cases was lifted by the top, kept expecting the bottom with all the minis to fall out.
Great use of space with that shelving tho, way better than one of those glass front display shelve things IMO since one can pick up a full batch of minis in one grab and should protect the minis from dust better too.
Those cases are cool as well, could do mini dioramas/display boards on them as well as adding a background image to fit whatever minis they are to contain.
OT: I expect with all thats been going no progess will have happened but i though id ask anyway, is the Jazza Monkey Bike still in the pile of shame? :P
Super inspiring guys! I'm looking forward to giving magnets a try in terrain and minis, and this was very useful.
Also, that shelf idea is stellar - no need to worry about anybody bumping your models off the shelf. Maybe someday, I'll have enough minis to justify a setup like that :)
"it's a shelf", oh Gareth, this was just the beginning of magnetshelfs on the studio 🤣
6:57
True chaotic neutral at its peak
Ok, what happened to Hammerheads? Why is he going to get in trouble for using them now?
They got a buff that makes them mean one shot kills and their range is the whole table in most games.
@@lanepaintsminis ah. Thanks.
Murray/Murray/Mureigh faces throughout are so funny.
I love the spacebears dude I’ve never done minis or been interested much until I seen the space bears :)))
They guy who made the space bears is called Jazza, he has his own channel :)
It’s functional and functional - great!
This seems like a really fun idea to do at home to display my own minis
9:59 - A brief reminder of Waluigi's short but beautiful musical career with titles such as "Don't look at me that wah! " and " I love the way you wah " there is currently an ongoing dispute over a possible breach of intellectual property by the plaintiff Nazdreg Ug Urdgrub of the Bad Moons Klan for the improper use of their "Waaghh!"
The trial continues.
AH I love magnets!! They're ... attractive! ;D
Dude that wall looks so crisp! What a point of pride in the studio! That has to be just wild to see in person! I love it!
That looks incredible. I need to make time to display some minis properly on my wall
UWU just in time for hammerheads buffs from their 9th edition codex around the corner (one shot one kill). I would recommend looking into some Gunpla hobby supplies to use for the miniature hobby, they have things like hole bottom flattening bit and panel line chisels that are all really useful for the miniature hobby as well, can look at God-Hand products and Tamiya to get a general idea.
I have the same problem with a hammerhead with a missing landing gear, seems like a whole batch of those old things are just incomplete
I feel like all of youtube conspired to make me aware of magnets today
Nice. That one dude looks like Jazza
Why couldn't you just 3D print the piece that you were missing or something that could work in it's place?
You could put magnets in the mini bases…. But then put magnets on the underside of shelves. Hang the models upside down. That way saving tons of display space :D you can thank me later….but wait, I hear you cry. That’s stupid because they are upside down. That’s the genius….see I live in the uk, so your upside down models will be the right way round for me! (You Australian folks do walk around upside down… don’t you? :D ….or should I have taken the Lock Screen position off my iPad…..?) awesome video guys. Love the channel.
Ah the joys of living in Australia, Shipping is larger then the cost of the cases.
To be honest I would want my display shelves to have lockable glass screens. Like it might protect against thieves, but more importantly if you have visitors and children visiting the building they won't be able to pick up the models, drop or take them.
That’s an awesome poster
VIDEO IDEA: Would you guys make a landscape with magnetic paint underneath the shrubs and what not so that the miniatures would easily stick on the board
I bought some bases from Cobalt Keep after the last video mentioning them and I love them.
My Deathwing Terminators with Hammers and shields are looking forward to smashing in some tau railguns.
Making a comment to make the algorithm god's happy but can't wait to watch this when I get home
If you ever did tours, the hallway of miniatures will have to be a half hour stop.
lol I had a pirhanha that for about 14 years was missing the front sensor and one of the engine grills, I thinkt hat one droppped off but the sensor was like... half formed lol.
should of used the principle skinner with magnets clip tbh
liked for the peeling footage
So when are we getting the "Bear Force One" Video?
Alternative title "echoey conversation about shelving"
Simple solution.... Magnetise the remaining landing gear and the landing gear housing. Then when you need the landing gear in a missing housing - just take the landing gear from one of the other housings - problem solved. Do it fast enough and no one will even notice there's one missing! ...................................................................... lol
1000% add LED lights to the underside of the shelfs to light the models below them up
I'm not gonna lie guys this kill team battle is being hyped up it better be the greatest thing I've ever seen in my entire life no pressure.
Don't worry. It will be.
That wall will look epic in no time! (How many different spellings did you print on that crown?)
Poor marry. Now we have to spell his name correctly 😂
Tau Commander: Hammerhead crew, you see that Gue`la tank on the horizon?
HH crew: Yes sir.
Tau Commander: I do not want to see it anymore.
HH crew: Yes sir, cleaning up the horizon.
Definitely need some LED strips to light up the displays. Could stick them on the bottom of the shelves, so they're recessed
wait what happened to the hammerheads?
So good!
Those look amazing! BUT… if you added LED strips along the bottom of each of the shelves, it would be even more epic… 😜
Magnets??? I’m already hyped!
what magnets did you put under the Daiso display boxes?
All praise be to the Dave!
11:43 Has meme format energy.
PAINT.
YOUR.
CHAPTER MASTER!
JAZZA!!!
Is it just me that sees how chaotic this was!
those magnets are so attractive :D
As a non Warhammer fan. Can I get some context of the hammerhead?
pls make a video where you showcase all your models
Wait! What happened to my Hammerheads!?!
one of the shelves wasnt straight from the side.
rgb lighting when????
What?!? They have a cafe in there now?!
When will we see bearforce-1
Did you guys just make a video about putting some shelves up?
One of the fundamental forces of Nature.
Huzzah!
In the words of icp fing magents how do they work
the shelfs need some leds :)
Vidio idear
One person makes the modle then a diferant person dose like the simple pain and some one el finishes it off
If the case bases where white, now that would be next level! still looks sick AF and now we all may have something similar..... lol
Am I missing something, I've been excited about some more battles. I could've sworn 5-6 months ago they said another one was coming soon but still nothing, have I missed some videos, or is it posted somewhere else?
We're recording it next week!
@@TabletopTime Alright thanks for clarifying.
Still waiting for the gundam
Is it me or the middle shelf tilting forward...
Magnificent magnets mean many modes.
your the kind of guy to play tau
But dont use 5mm magnets for skaven bases. Or you will rip them out from he base unless you pick them from the base xD
They have become Trazyn.
You cannot convince me that Murray is not NinjaBrians Australian love child.
what happened to the hammerheads?
Railgun is a super strong weapon now. A hit/wound guarantees lots of damage and blows through plot armor like tissue paper.
👍
Rad poster
The unscripted nonsense is my favorite part of this
neat
it is very clear that they don't do a lot of building projects that don't involve the soft materials used for their maps or the small, lightweight models
Anyone mildly irrated the shelves are all the same or no pattern. Just random variations or left and right skew. Triggered lol my poor ocd
magnets are cool.
Less gooo
#magnetsareawesome
the first shelf is not level and it triggers me
Great production guys!
Note to your editor(s) in consideration to your “older” viewers (while you’re still an up and coming channel:
Examples of bad ambient music in this video: 3:38, 10:00 (again with respect to older viewers)
Examples of great ambience: 8:30, 11:02
i cant do anything and i was able to magnatize my dunecrawler.
Hello
Don't like the Pixelization in the videos. Either show something or don't. If you don't want to spoil the ending, then don't show the footage.
fucking magnets? how do they work?
Hammerheads still aren't anything special. A gimmick, but Stormsurges are better by far.
Hahahaha
If you don't play Warhammer and just paint, it's a waste of time to put magnets on a mini. Just choose the weapon you like the most
