Wow a Rape episode with a MALE victim, you barely see that. Oh and the Different Strokes episode was so awrkward And Fresh Prince had a lot of Special Episodes dealing with Racial Profiling, drugs and remembering where you come from.
The Smart Guy Stranger in the Nets not only taught me not to ever chat with random people online, but it scared me and my family. Aww, the #1 will forever tear me up, I wonder if Will gotten an Emmy for that performance. *Sigh* unfortunately, well the way I see it, there are not many shows like the 80s/90s, that will teach kids.
Chelsea Canales We watched the Smart Guy episode in school actually. The Guidnce counsler showed to 4th and 5th graders every year in elementary school as Internet was starting to get big. Very helpful episode that one was.
Seriously, has there ever been an epidemic of kids putting themselves in refrigerators?! I mean BEFORE Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls?!
+Otaking Mikohani I think the primary focus of that episode was the value of CPR, but they used Cherrie getting trapped in the fridge so that there was a genuine need for it.
What about the episode of The Parkers where T found out his girlfriend was HIV Positive or the episode of That's So Raven that dealt with body image. What about the episode of One Tree Hill with the school shooting
that fresh prince episode with carlton packin heat was one of the most shocking things i've ever seen, still to this day. ugh just those 2 seconds brought me back. one of the best episodes ever of anything. seriously one of the best shows of all time.
There are many that were forgotten... Full House - Papouli Dies Fresh Prince - Carlton Takes Speed Family Matters - Black History and Guns WKRP - The Who Concert Saved by the Bell - Becky the Duck (Oil) How I Met Your Mother - Marshall's Dad Dies Roseanne - Al Dies and Dan's Heart Attack Designing Women - Man With AIDS Growing Pains - Cocaine at Party That '70s Show - Grandma's Dead
That was a very enjoyable video compilation. I also greatly enjoy watching the cornucopia of latter very special episodes on many of these shows and more.
I have a book called Very Special People. It profiles numerous people from the past who had different types of deformities. They were hideous, but curiosity makes it nearly impossible to look away. Much like Very Special Episodes.
Great list, although you should have added the ep of Life Goes On where Corky burned down his family's restaurant because it taught children not to play with matches
The episode of A Different World when Josie played by Tisha Campbell reveals that she has AIDS contracting it in her Jr yr of high school was a very dark episode still gets me til this day.....
Roseanne was about a working class family's day to day lives. Problems don't equal special in that circumstance. There's no Good Times, either. And, seeing as how JJ got shot, Michael was joined a gang, James got killed, Thelma married an abusive alcoholic, JJ's prom date was a junkie, etc., at some point, it becomes special when they just have a boring day.
first thing i wanna say is why are pills used so much in these episodes, i know for some people there a problem but the are more serreous issues to write about second thing is #6, i know some people might think im irigant about the pill thing but how worried does someone have to be about refiderator safety, i couldnt even fit in one when i was younger
Well when a lot of these shows were being made, the Reagan's had their whole "Just say no to drugs" thing and soon pretty much everyone wanted to be cool by saying that drugs weren't cool. Although there really isn't any justification for the refrigerator one. That's just stupid writers making an impractical situation look serious.
I'd move the Dinosaurs clip back to where the What's Happening clip was, and move What's Happening all the way up where the Dinosaurs clip was. What's Happening was a much bigger, and much more remembered, show. Heck, I was just talking about that Doobie Brothers bootlegging episode the other day.
fahd s I remember that one; such an akward episode in general. The guy kidnapped him because they couldn't have another one. That entire family were overactors to the extreme. Cringy stuff.
Tonight on a very special Clone High, one of the clones you've grown to love will be horribly killed. This is not some cheap-ass stunt where we lamely introduce a new character just to kill him off. A clone dies tonight!!!
Yep, a bunch of men decided what's best for a woman is having a baby even if it A.) Kills her or B.) Was an unwanted pregnancy due to circumstances such as being raped.
1. Maybe the Icarly one shouldn’t be on here. I ain’t trying to diss the military but if I remember that episode correctly it wasn’t like....dealing with that stuff as much as just honoring hem. 2. I like how in the Belvedere aids one they cut that shit quick cause of the laugh track
Major Dad. "Be advised, im not thirteen and i hit back". Freaking love that line!
That line actually reminded me of Uncle Jesse during the Silence Is Not Golden episode of Full House because I can deeply imagine him saying that.
Wow a Rape episode with a MALE victim, you barely see that.
Oh and the Different Strokes episode was so awrkward
And Fresh Prince had a lot of Special Episodes dealing with Racial Profiling, drugs and remembering where you come from.
Yea. If you think about it, alot of actors from Diff'rent Strokes had their lives messed up after that show.
The episode of Full House where Stephanie's classmate is being abused. How did that get passed?
wow, the rape example is woman on man rape.
that doesn't happen often on TV.
History before television has that in the most heartrending stories, like the Tale of Beowulf or the The Arabian Nights Book for example.
"I got AIDS, but other than that I'm pretty good."
John Field Show and the laugh track after he says that is so cringe - worthy!
You left out the Family Matters' episodes where Laura guys a gun for protection, and when someone paints the N-word on Laura's locker.
Diamond King It wasn't special enough
Charles Carter it was
Don't know if it was a "very special episode" but Penny getting burned by her mother on Good Times should be included.
TexasNightmare210 Yeah, I remember that episode. Wasn't penny's mother abusive?
Oh yes- Janet Jackson was Penny and her mother burned her with an iron. She was a pretty good actress for her age.
Child abuse would be the word
I would buy a box set of all 50. Great work compiling this.

Damn I love very special episodes
got to admit I teared up during the fresh prince one cause I remember it so well
Seriously, has there ever been an epidemic of kids putting themselves in refrigerators?! I mean BEFORE Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls?!
I do remember kids in the 80's being found in old refrigerators,,, that's when kids played hide and seek
+Otaking Mikohani I think the primary focus of that episode was the value of CPR, but they used Cherrie getting trapped in the fridge so that there was a genuine need for it.
Melinda Brown I do remember it being somewhat of an epidemic back then actually
That refrigerator episode 😳 I was terrified of refrigerators my whole childhood! 😆
Me too!
Well, they may be scary, but they help to keep your sugar salad sandwiches from spoiling.
Uggghhhh Bicycle Guy still gives me the creeps
Also an episode of Boy Meets World, child abuse too, how are those getting passed?
I guess i live "a very special life", since ive been through most of this.
So much I’d have to teach my future children I’m glad we have shows like this on UA-cam
This is one of the best TV comps on YT, well done....
The bootlegging concert one was pretty funny. "I thought you guys were our friends!"
This was more deep than funny, the strikeout the the last few ones caught me off guard. Great video.
There are many that were forgotten...
Full House - Papouli Dies
Fresh Prince - Carlton Takes Speed
Family Matters - Black History and Guns
WKRP - The Who Concert
Saved by the Bell - Becky the Duck (Oil)
How I Met Your Mother - Marshall's Dad Dies
Roseanne - Al Dies and Dan's Heart Attack
Designing Women - Man With AIDS
Growing Pains - Cocaine at Party
That '70s Show - Grandma's Dead
That was a very enjoyable video compilation. I also greatly enjoy watching the cornucopia of latter very special episodes on many of these shows and more.
I have a book called Very Special People. It profiles numerous people from the past who had different types of deformities. They were hideous, but curiosity makes it nearly impossible to look away. Much like Very Special Episodes.
I liked this video a lot, but I also think that the "Facts of Life" episodes on suicide and drugs should have been added
3:09
WTF?!
This kind of makes me want to watch all these episodes lol
"I have AIDS"
Laughed my fucking ass off
"How come he don't want me, man?"
Great list, although you should have added the ep of Life Goes On where Corky burned down his family's restaurant because it taught children not to play with matches
Where was child abuse Good Times? with Penny (janet jackson) & the iron!
No Roseanne or All in the Family, really? Unless you're implying they did it well and these shows didn't? I could live with that for the most part.
comfycouches The majority of All in the Family were special episodes. There's too many for this list.
I can relate to the very last one because my father was very neglectful throughout my childhood. Deadbeat parents are just as bad as abusive ones.
NEVER GETS OLD
Will Smith is as old as Uncle Phil now...and Uncle Phil is gone! crazy...
last one was really good. like REALLY GOOD.
The episode of A Different World when Josie played by Tisha Campbell reveals that she has AIDS contracting it in her Jr yr of high school was a very dark episode still gets me til this day.....
“You know guys….I think you’ll have a lot more fun with your clothes off”.
Omg 😂 wtf
The deadbeat dad's one hit me really hard.
What about ALF and kleptomania?
"Well I got AIDS, but other than that, I'm doing pretty good!" ;'D Oh my gosh!
I like how the one about rape is called "too close for comfort"
2:40 That's Christopher Meloni's voice.
3:26 refrigerator safety. I never knew that was a thing.
"You know guys, you can just have an awful lot of fun with your clothes off." Easy wins this battle.
What episode was that scene in “Major Dad”?
Yep.
There were GI Joe PSAs about it too. It seems like an oddly specific problem, doesn't it?
this is incredible
how did the hannah montannah one get so high
2:54 he did the right thing he stand up for him and his wife just because they’re different ethnicities that can’t date each other
Roseanne was about a working class family's day to day lives.
Where can I find a list of all the names of these episodes?!?
What about the molestation episode from Webster? That was very real for a 80s sitcom.
Left out the special 'Kate & Allie' episode where Allie experiences the plight of New York's homeless.
ua-cam.com/video/ZE8xqz-zXI0/v-deo.html
Whats the Major Dad epusode about child abuse called?
Why was All In The Family left out? That show had some GREAT special episodes!
SOLID list.
back then a lot of kids would climb into the refrigerator under the guise of hide n go seek
Damn, I really want to re-watch that Fresh Prince episode now.
that was the best part of this video.
what episode is number 13?
blossom
That episode seemed enjoyable. It reminded me of the Reunion episode from Moesha which contained a more detrimental remark.
That Punky Brewster episode is hilarious. Friggin' 9-year-old empties her bag and it's full of vials of cocaine, joints, assorted pills and syringes.
That was real talk!
come on people how does my comment have almost as many thumbs ups as this video? the vid was great! atta be jest.
What about the Fresh Prince episode where he takes speed
carlton took the pills not will.
Nothing beats Too Close For Comfort
Do a part two but just episodes of Degrassi cause WOOH that show GOES THERE
That episode of family ties was really deep 😶
1 is one of the most heartbreaking moments in tv history. I cry every time
+iamjefferson17 Jesus

Later everyone found out it was all a lie. 🤷♀️
What about fridges with those old school locking system?
Refrigerator safety? Please someone explain the context of that scene! I don't understand it's not even plugged in.
Say what you will about that What's Happenin' episode, but it's important that kids learn the dangers of bootlegging concerts.
Wow, that was pretty intense...
It says yolo on wills hat in #1
Different Strokes: I was happy when Sam was kidnapped. Hated him. However, I was sad when he came back
fahd s I remember that one; such an akward episode in general. The guy kidnapped him because they couldn't have another one. That entire family were overactors to the extreme. Cringy stuff.
It was because the actor playing Mr. Hooper died, so they wanted to address the issue of death/dying.
Tonight on a very special Clone High, one of the clones you've grown to love will be horribly killed. This is not some cheap-ass stunt where we lamely introduce a new character just to kill him off. A clone dies tonight!!!
Why don't they do these anymore?
People don't pay attention anymore.
Never play inside a fridge, they only open from the outside. You can test it if you'd like.
2:17 now it’s illegal today since they passed the law in the US
Yep, a bunch of men decided what's best for a woman is having a baby even if it A.) Kills her or B.) Was an unwanted pregnancy due to circumstances such as being raped.
@ even if this man is a red even though the red wants it to be illegal
3:32 "you can have a lot of fun with your clothes off" all nonchalant
Woman to Big Bird: "When people die, they don't come back."
Since when was Sesame Street a sitcom anyway?
you don't have to be a sitcom to have a vse.
I can;t watch number 1 without getting choked up.
I've never seen any of those shows!
i love the great speech by will, then the ding.
1. Maybe the Icarly one shouldn’t be on here. I ain’t trying to diss the military but if I remember that episode correctly it wasn’t like....dealing with that stuff as much as just honoring hem.
2. I like how in the Belvedere aids one they cut that shit quick cause of the laugh track
dont forget Smoking Thats so raven n vaping ravens home
I think there was one other TV show with a Very Special Episode that covered rape: ALL IN THE FAMILY.
true
ikr
Came here after watching recent WandaVision episode?
Nice :-)
Um. Left out the "uppers/pills" episode of HELLO LARRY.
#2 should have been #1! I'M SO EXCITED I'M SO EXCITED I'M SO EXCITED!!!!
I only know 5 of these shows..
I completely forgot that the "Dinosaurs" ever existed...
REFRIDGERATOR SAFETY???
