I had a 1978 Suzuki GS 1000 when I was a kid in my 20's, loved it and wish I still had it. I sold it after I found out I had Diabetes type 2 (self-inflicted), I also surrendered my Class 1 Driver's License (Canadian Tractor and Trailer License) as renewing the Class 1 was going to cost me over $3K every 2 years. Looking back I wish I had taken better care of myself, but am very grateful for the memories built on that bike!!
I owned one for 5 years a truly great bike, amazing comfort and enough power to put a smile on your face everyday and yes it will will do the longest wheelspins ever a true contender for the greatest of its time.
I am 65 years old I had the 1979 Suzuki 1000. I Ported it out put Vance and Hines exhaust and re-jeted the carbs.I also added a bubble fairing on the headlight and lower handle bars. It was AMAZING!
I owned a '78 GS1000 C model from '91 to 2004. My first wife & I had a fantastic honeymoon in VT on it. It had a Vetter fairing and hard bags on it when I bought it. I ditched the hard bags and frame but kept the Vetter fairing not only for the wind protection but for the banging AM/FM cassette stereo. I did a lot of serious riding and rocking on that C. What a bike! Would love to own another some day.
I first discovered Kaplan Cycles a little over 2 years ago on You Tube, and have watched them religiously since. I bought a 1985 Yamaha 2 stroke RZ 350 Kenny Robert's Streetbike from them, as well as a 2022 GasGas 2 stroke MC 250, along with many custom parts for it. I always wanted to meet you brother. Sadly, it looks like I'm too late for that. You are a legend, brother. I will greatly miss seeing You and Jackie in the videos. I wish You and Jackie nothing but the Best In Life, Brother. Much Love and Respect from Sonny in New Orleans, La. ❤🥰😍
In 79 we raced a 79 Gs100e. We named her 1/4 pounder and set two national records and won 3 national events. Russ Collins helped us tune it. Probably the most fun and competition year for us ever.
My best friend owned a Suzuki shop back in the 70's. Although I rode Kawasaki's at that time, I have to say those Suzuki's were the best handling Superbike's of that time! Love the video & that you're bringing back all these great bikes of that era!
I Have fond memories of this bike. You forgot the twin discs up front and auxiliary oil cooler to keep things chilled. In your upgrades Ken, pretty spot on.
Love the paint color scheme of that vintage superbike. It's flawless like a brilliant diamond. This bike has Wes Cooley and Terry Vance written all over it! Awesome video. Love the wheelie that you pulled. ML&R.
The Manic Mechanic is one badass dude and he is a Master Mechanic that brother will supertune anything and these are great bikes man and back home everybody had the Kirker header and fairing and man do they look badass changes the whole look and it matches it's a badassness,, this sumbitch is beautiful 44 years old💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 y'all here ken chirp that tire baby😂🤣😂 this badass brother knows how to make every bike sing the way it needs to definitely representing💚😎😎👌🏼🗯💥🤟🏻🤟🏻🤝🏼

i had a gsx750 like that and most of the time forgot to kick the side stand up then try and turn left nearly die due to the bike not turning or jumping as the stand hitting the road🤣

Gotta love that whistle a clean set of balanced carbs and proper valve adjustment produces. I know my GS750 is clicking when it's whistling.

The owner sure took good care of it for that many years.
That's a lotta motorcycle. !!!
Great lookin bike!
Some will dispute it, but Suzukis of this era were better than the Hondas.
The only Suzuki in Mad Max. The rest were kx.
Keep up the good work today

Those are Elsinore icons available from most motorcycle dealerships
Nothern bikes are usually in good condition.
Omg!! My first street bike drag bars, Kerker header, and punched out that thing pulled seriously hard !
Surprised that has a single disc up front.
I prefer the water Buffalo, but that’s a nice piece.
Best wishes in Floriduh Jeff. Enjoy your retirement.
😊
I'd put a red 4 into 1 exhaust on her and go all madmax 😮
