Yes that’s one large field 😝 I’m hoping to do a trip when weather warms up love to visit for a few days and hopefully have a dig with you on it 😝 As long as there’s a Premier inn nearby you could pick me up from 😝
That bullet is a 7.62mm blank. Its fired. Made in 1962 from the date stamp on the base. I think from memory this caliber was adopted by the British Army in 1961. So a nice early one that!!

Looks like a 7.62 x 51mm round. It is a trainer, its crimped at the tip to contain the powder dry. Its a blank made to go bang it may also be used to fire grenades from a rifle.

New subscriber here. This field looks like it's gonna be Giving up many many little treasures. The stamped coin looks like a cat chasing a ball I think. I was curious though why so many thimbles were they sewing up sacks ?

I like your thinking with the stamped coin, I actually have two French bulldogs, and though I could see a Frenchie chasing a ball 🤔 lol. My theory on the thimbles, is that the workers in the fields, would carry a needle and thread and a thimble, incase they tore their clothes and had to do a repair. That's just my guess though 👍.

Another great video. I alway enjoy watching your channel. I took a picture of the stamped copper coin and enlarged it. The more I looked at it the more I saw. If you hold it where it looks like a heart ❤️ I saw a horse on one side but if you turn it around Where I looks like a candle flame I saw a tree under the moon. Maybe an Islamic emblem. Hi dan! I’ll be out a the weekend to detect my first new permission (pasture) It’s going to be my very first swing of my simplex + mate! What settings would you recommend please!
Good luck mate 🤞🤞, I'd put it in park 1, ground balance, sensitivity as high as you can, iron volume on 2 bars. If you want more depth and you don't mind the dying goose noises, you could use the same settings but use field mode 👍
bc rejection is only for actual bottle caps not the aluminum twist caps. Even then you can kinda hear real bottle caps as they will make a dull sound as your coil passes over the target. After a few swings you can hear it pretty clearly.
Thanks mate 👍. BC is not something I am going to use in my fields, as I found that it rejects things that I want to be finding. This was just a test to show the viewer that it won't work on all bottle caps, especially the aluminium ones 👍. Thank you for watching buddy 😁👍

Hi Dan, can you give me your opinion on the simplex and the sp22 coil please
Never used the sp22 mate, but I've seen it's capabilities, which are similar to the sp24. I've used the sp24 for 100s of hours, and I can tell you it is an amazing little coil. Very accurate and great for getting between all the iron etc.

Thanks for sharing the video , bit confused with the iron filter now . When you say low IF ( low numbers ) you would assume that means a smaller level of iron rejected and the greater that number the more iron rejected ? Well the Nokta Nomad Adam D tekt Sussex says 8 (the highest number ) is iron filter off so basically in reverse to what you and I would assume , very confused

Can we purchase the legend fully updated. I have little confidence with the firmware updating process and I know there have been some issues. I'm deciding on either a legend or vanquish at moment
I am fairly confident that you would find it simple enough, with the latest update tool. It is now very simple and easy to use. Failing that, I'm sure that if you ask your nokta dealer, they would do the update for you. LP would definitely do this, as they are part of the nokta repairs team. 👍
Quick heads up.
Gilt & gilded means 'gold plated'.
You don't need to say 'gold gilded' or 'gold gilt'. It's like saying 'gold gold plated'.

Great videos. I must get out detecting soon. I've got a Fisher 1265x, which I got new in the 80's, & just picked up a Garrett Ace 250 for cheap. The local councils have banned detecting on public land recently, so the options are limited.

There are a lot of detectors out there mate, I started with the simplex plus, which have now been updated with the simplex lite, BT And ultra. Great machines for any beginner and very simple to use 👌 feel free to give Jordan at Dragon Detecting a call, mention me and he will give you 10% worth of extra freebies on top 😉.
As for places to go detecting, you will need the permission of the landowner wherever you go. All land is owned by someone, some beaches you can detect but you will need to check before hand 👍. Hope that helps 😉

What I'd love to see is cleaned up results later. Spread out properly on a table for e.g. Whith more information you've found out after some research. It's rushed and scratty at the end of the video. Layered in a lid, or bunched up in a box, all dusty looking. I feel like I've gone on a journey with you, but are excluded from the final destination. In other people's videos they do a lovely conclusion back at home some time later. Whereas your finds, while interesting, don't have the satisfying conclusion I'm waiting for. I find that disappointing. For me, that's the best bit. But you are an interesting character who's clearly passionate about what your doing.
