And Coral Drouyn claimed Erica was too "two dimensional" when she hardly gave her the opportunity to truly be versatile with what she wrote for her for 350+ episodes. The writers always act like it's the actor's fault when they can't do more with these characters when they have other projects as displayed here to show otherwise. Just write for them to do more and something different instead of typecasting them a certain way. Geesh.
Thank you so much for these two videos. As a Brit, I've only seen Patsy in Prisoner, but always loved her and Erica is still my favourite character so it's great to see her in other roles. I did see parts of The Sullivans when I was very young but only remember about half a dozen characters and don't remember Patsy in it. I especially loved the second role in this compilation. If I had my eyes closed I would have sworn that was Sue Jones speaking rather than Patsy. She sounded just like her! Btw, in the opening montage you show a clip of the good tape where Erica, Vera, Meg and Jim are in the office smoking a joint. I don't suppose you could upload the full video? I've seen it once before but have never found it since and it's totally hilarious!
Glad you're enjoying them, they are a lot of fun to discover and create. The dark haired Patsy is a revelation! I think she was only in 4 episodes of The Sullivans. Since you asked I'll upload that outtake and the vanishing Erica in a few days time as a Christmas bonus 😊
@prisonerconnection. Thank you, yes I am enjoying them all, not just the Patsy ones. It must be a lot of hard work, but it's much appreciated. Yes she looks so different with brown hair! The difference really is amazing. Oh thank you! I will really enjoy seeing those when you upload them. Both are so funny, especially the oh so very Erica way of telling Ted to get stuffed!
I am glad Pasty King is still with us at 93 years old. I am impressed with her versatile acting abilities. Some of the roles on here are similar to the inmates on Cell Block H I find very interesting. 28:23 I am shocked at what she said in one of her roles, can even play an antagonist bigot role too. Pasty is a Fairy God Mother on Cell Block H so ladylike & fair. I love the way she professionally talks. She is so adorable.
I always mainly associated Patsy King with Prisoner although I knew she was an early presenter on Play School when that first started in the 1960s. Amazing to see the broad range of other roles she played especially among all those Crawford dramas. I love the scene of her in The Box, about as far removed from Erica Davidson as I could imagine (also interesting to see a young Delvene Delaney in that scene) and yet ironically could well have been in the same studio that Prisoner was made in years later at ATV0-10 in Nunawading.
I've not seen any clips of Patsy on Play School yet, nor Adventure Island but I have seen Anne Haddy on Play School. There is an episode of The Long Arm that I'm keen to find with Patsy, Serge Lazareff and Michael Pate.
@@prisonerconnection I've not seen any footage of Ms King on Play School but I have a TV Times article from the time of the show's launch that she was part of the original presenter line-up. @tvaustralia1 has episodes of The Long Arm but appears to be missing that one unfortunately.
@@TelevisionAU The Long Arm episode 'The Line Between Is So Thin’ with Patsy and Serge was considered too violent and also too anti war. This episode was not shown until the series entered repeat runs so is particularly hard to find. More info here: web.archive.org/web/20211224040827/classicaustraliantv.com/longarm.htm
Indeed, 27 roles including 15 for Homicide! I'm missing 1 episode of Matlock Police, and her one Hunter episode is not yet available. Apparently she got confirmation of her role as Erica Davidson when she was filming the Chopper Squad episode for Grundy in Sydney. 😊
I love Erica she was great as Mrs Davidson to be honest how she kept her patience with re offending doreen lol great programme I'm still watching it all these years later 😂
Patsy just doesn't look like the same person as a Brunette. And smoking too. On Prisoner my favorite part was when those two young girls Rickie and Linda Golmann took her hostage and she took off running. There she was in her early 50s out running those girls who were in their twenties.
I only know her as Erica Davidson but she seems like a very versatile character actress.
Some real eye openers!

Prisoner greatest serial. All actresses were very great. Watch it still avidly.

Ahhh I recognised the actress who played Hannah Simpson from Cell Block H as her daughter. lol 34:13

Amazing . Its such a joy for those who only know actors from prisoner (or sometimes home n away to neighbours in uk)
Wow at the beginning, Erica the sharpie sheila lol.
What a load of Crawford roles she has before Prisoner!!

What is the missing Matlock episode title?

So weird to hear Erica Davidson talking in a lower/working class Aussie accent lol

1:15:23 What happened!?
@@MastersGraduate2023 it's an outtake where Erica tells Ted to get stuffed in her own way and vanishes ☺️
What happened to her accent? It changed from Australian to English.
