He was onthe show that night and my husband was the guest band coordinator for the TS. Robert Palmer was the kindest & most amazing man. I came down for sound check and then stayed around for the actual taping. He’s always been my favorite singers .He took pics and talked for 15-20 min ❤️such a wonderful person ❤️
how many are listening in 2019..20..21..22?? well fella, let me tell ya=i certainly am and i'm sure millions around the world still are! bit of background...i'm a 60 year old englishman from Peckham in s.e.London and i first heard Robert Palmer in the late seventies ("looking for clues" "johny and mary" etc) and have been and always will be a fan,i'll try to sum up why....a brilliant singer/songwriter,his variation in his music,a brilliant live performer, his modesty, always looking dapper and smart, his humility, his sense of humour, and being patriotic(which in some quarters u shouldn't be??!! my response to that is-well,b******s to THAT!!) that he's English...his music lives forever...R.I.P. Robert Palmer and thankyou for the great music and as we say in london for being a "diamond geezer" hope u all stay safe and well, take care, all the best from Piers a.k.a. "Chopper".
Piers aka "Chopper" It's 2024 and I never get tired of watching this masterful performance, as well as, the many others utube has to offer. Your Comment is spot on and really crystallizes how many of us feel about Robert Palmer and his music. Thank you and stay well - from across the pond in NYC.
A true gent and talent of highest order I've missed him I was lucky see him once dublin ireland when I was younger long time ago now. I still listen his music everyday. "I'm trying listen the new Robert palmer album and my stupid girlfriend keeps yapping in my ear"
God bless the late Robert Palmer, and this band. And this drummer, I'm sure he shows up with HSCC on percussion of course, but also background vocals, singing very difficult minor 2nds on a cover of Christopher Cross's "Sailing, take me away...
What intense passion during the medley. He was a true singer and without the benefit of the typical in-ear monitors seen nowadays. Does anyone know who his backup singer that sang Mercy with him?
@@BamaJayHayes He was a fantastic artist, always modest, well-dressed, good looking. His performences were perfect, passsionate; the Marvin Gaye remake (Mercy, Mercy Me ...) and Addicted To Love are cultic, I think. I miss him, he died pretty young. (Sorry for my English.)
@annagunthernestrahl8444 Greetings from Alabama, USA. Your English is perfect, by the way. 😊 I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said! Mr. Palmer was one of a kind! His stage presence was so dang unique. Who else could dress like an attorney or stock broker while rockin' out like that? Lol! He was truly one-of-a-kind! ✌️💙

He meant everything he said that in his song❤❤. God loves him that to ask him to returning back in Heaven for his love sake.
Mr. Palmer, performing Marvin Gaye’s song was masterfully executed.✨🦁✨
“The epitome of cool,😎 personified.”
This is written by Bob Dylan

He found the calypso beat in Dylan's western swing waltz.
Wow. This is good. He just got better and better as a singer and arranger. As a musician, really
He sang this with more soul than Marvin. Sorry! , but it's true ; and he did it with class. 💋
First song is by Bob Dylan.

These guys really REDLINED it with "I want you". I wonder if it started a riot in the studio audience way back in 1991.
