I saw the show a few days ago, and I was crazy about it! You can feel Fosse's influence all over the place in the show. Just the way Patina Miller dances is incredibly Fosse-esque and she makes me think she could be Fosse's muse today. It was amazing and I hope it wins Best Revival at the Tonys.

I hope to see this new production. Anyone can use an old format, but it takes a love of the art of stage craft to strive for something better. Obviously, you take great pride in your art. May it be a stupendous success!

They neglect to talk about the Acrobatics choreographer, who tied all the Fosse stuff with the Circus stuff! What she did was phenomenal!

I would love to see this in the uk. The music haunts me as I was Theo in London with Paul Jones and Patricia hodge
The original choreography by the legend that is Bob Fosse lead me on to a very successful career as as a dancer and now a sound engineer. Go for it but keep the Fosse

Iimmediately think of Fosse when I think of this show. It seems there is just enough of an homage to him to satisfy me. The historic TV commercial choreography is still in tact!

sure, I think it could work just fine.
I am a little sad that Bob Fosse's amazing choreography keeps being jettisoned. These things don't live on if they are not passed on. First we had a Fosse lite revival of Chicago on Broadway and then a arrogant director of the film dismissing Fosse altogether.
As a life long theater person I know to keep theater alive it has to constantly reinvent itself through the new eyes of artists. it is sad to see Fosse's genius being left behind :(

I must admit I did not know much about Pippin but I fell head over heels in love with this amazing revival. A mixture of music, magic, love and everything that makes one extraordinary. Patina Miller, Matthew James Thomas, Andrea Martin and the entire cast was simply fantastic. Pippin 2013 is one magical journey and I am looking forward to the relase of the musical soundtrack in June.

It's KILLING me that I'm not in N.Y. to see this! Looks dynamic, and I've seen 'em all, from Ben Vereen to Deaf West.

The original is incredible. You can't touch the genius of it, that's if yiu truly understand it. These days, there's a desperate need to over egg everything. A small group of players tour their small, commune from village to village. So how do they tour a massive show?... game over before you've even begun.

As is said in "Purlie" "...No Honey, that ain't it."

Too bad the opening number is the climax of the show ... it was downhill after that. Better than the original, however, but that's a low bar.

When I go to see Pippin on Broadway, I want to see those Fosse elements just like I want to hear those Stephen Schwartz music and lyrics. After I'm gone you can replace all of it with whatever you like.
