I agree, and I Loved The Last Jedi, I personally think it’s the best of the sequels. But I would love to have seen a cohesive trilogy from Abraham’s or Johnson, would have also Loved to see Rian Johnson’s unrelated trilogy. But I still enjoyed the Sequels, I just think they could have been better as a whole.
The mistakes seem entirely JJ's doing. When JJ had full creative control, he messed the ending of his own ips: Lost and Cloveefield. Then JJ did 5 remakes in a row Star Trek (rebooted timeline), Super 8 (ET sorta), Star Trek 2 (is a remake of Star Trek 2), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (A New Hope), and now this (Return of the Jedi).
@Ruby Hypatia The script is worthless, if the movie doesn't explicitly say it; then the sequel doesn't contradict anything. Fans shouldn't be forced to read a script to understand a movie.

Honestly I don’t buy for a second JJ didn’t want the two of them to end up together. He set it up in TFA, Rian Johnson JJ (executive producer) emphasized their flirting in TLJ.
Exactly. Kylo fell in love with Rey in the second movie. That is why he wanted her to join him(Marry him) and make a new order. Hopefully we will be able to get more Kylo Ren aka Ben and Rey I more movie's.
I disagree. People can care about each other and not be "in love". Ben/Kylo Ren was looking for redemption, and there was no chemistry between them other than the connection in the Force.

Should've continued the story of JJ after TFA or even TLJ made Story go on to diff direction, make it a quadrilogy... Its not that every movie have to be Trilogy... It could be Tros-Part 1 and Tros-Part 2
I was really hoping for an ending with gray jedi Rey and Kylo, training Finn and Poe to he jedi. (Finn was able to break out of stormtrooper mind control due to his unknown force sensitivity, and Poe is such a great pilot because of his unknown force sensitivity. The dark side won in the prequels, the light side won in the originals, they shouldn't have done either of those for the end of the sequels. It should have been a balance, a mid point. (Both my opinion and a cinematic story point)
This would’ve been a really great thing to go with-it’s honestly what I thought the last Jedi was setting up. It also would’ve doubled down on Kylo/Ben finishing what his grandfather started in bringing balance to the force (and saving the person he cared about if they kept the life force exchange thing.)
I thought that might be what happened when Rey killed Palpatine. She would both be all of the Sith and Jedi, and I would take that to mean she would be the one true master of the force (I am fully aware of how cheesy that sounds) but I could also see the current ending but Rey turns instantly into a force ghost making her not resurrectable, and Ben having to deal with what he did as Kylo to Finn and Chewie. Rey would appear to Finn and convince him Ben turned away from the dark side and the First Order falls because Ben would in theory still be supreme leader.
@@dragonrider1817 I thought Rey did? When she visits Tattooine to bury Luke and leia's sabers she has her own saber that has a yellow crystal... different from the traditional green, blue or red.
I know that John Boyega and J.J. Abrams said he wasn’t going to confess feeling for Rey, but the force sensitive thing makes no sense. I don’t want to say Finn telling Rey he loved her was the only logical line, but it was. Or it shouldn’t have been in the movie at all because it was a waste of time for him to tell her nothing.
David Velasquez yeah it was confusing. What was the point of putting it in the movie if they wouldn’t ever give us an answer (especially sense it was the last movie)

The Last Jedi was fine. If J.J. completely took over, he would have made the safest fuckin' trilogy ever. Like seriously, that guy doesn't know how to do something different. He establishes movies in the safest manner possible. Not to mention, he doesn't know to finish anything. He couldnt even finish the Kelvin Star Trek timeline.
I dislike The Rise of Skywalker far more than The Last Jedi. It's full to the brim with forced nostalgia, as well as containing so many cliche and unoriginal elements that somehow allow it to feel silly and cartoony for a Star Wars movie. The finale isn't as climactic as it's exhausting. The chemistry between Rey and Kylo Ren's what carries the movie. I consider it to be the weakest entry in the series after The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. The Last Jedi's dull in parts ( such as the chase with the ships ), but it also has its significant high points.
@@FilthyTrot Seems odd to dislike ROS based on forced nostalgia, cliche and unoriginal moments yet not call out TFA for being (the exact same thing) an exact carbon copy reboot of a new hope, I'd put TPM and AOTC above TFA simply because TFA was a pure reboot, at least those 2 expanded on the universe and gave us cool new locations like Kamino, Geonosis and Naboo instead of, Jaku, another sand planet, woo lol
When Palpatine said all the previous sith were in him we should have had the force ghost jedi show up to give Rey the strength to defeat him. It seems ridiculous that Rey by herself can defeat Palpatine and all the strength of the previous sith before him.

"They fly now"- scene was so blatant to push the toys. I can understand why rocket troopers are so rare because they can be easy targets to ground defense.
Finn and Poe were the only character with tangible romantic chemistry and the higher ups decided to cut it? I’m so fucking tired of Disney trying to market themselves as some sort of revolutionary/creative company when it’s fairly clear the only reason their kiss scene was cut because they feared die hard Star Wars fans would hate it. It’s funny cause most of the die hard SW fans I know agree that Finn and Poe made sense. Kylo and Rey kissing is the part that felt weird to me.
Osian Coleman if you look at it just in terms of the one movie, yes Rise of Skywalker is better. BUT if you take into account how it affects the whole Star Wars saga, Rise Of Skywalker is waaayyy worse of a send off to the Skywalker Saga than Justice League is as an establishing movie...
0:39 "WB wants Abrams for some DC projects." That is apparently happening. JJ is reportedly working on a Justice League Dark series for WB HBO Max streaming service.
"Trilogy" is the Greek word for a story told in 3 parts. "Tetralogy" is the Greek word for a story told in 4 parts. "Pentalogy" is the Greek word for a story told in 5 parts. "Quadrilogy" is a bastardized mix of the Latin prefix "quad", meaning 4, and the Greek suffix "logy", meaning a study or set of texts, to create a word that means "story told in 4 parts", when the Greek already had a word for just that millennia ago from the root as the commonly used word "trilogy".
Imagine Anakin and Kylo talking. Then Anakin mentions Padmé like You're attitude reminds me of your grandmother. Blah blah blah and then Anakin and Padmé's Theme song plays. "Across the Stars"
Rey and kylo are family. If Palpatine created Anakin out of the force. Doesn't that make Anakin his son? And if Rey is his granddaughter from another real son. Then Luke and leia are her aunt and uncle, and kylo is her cousin, so technically she kissed her cousin. Good old star wars
Seriously, a kiss between Poe and Finn would have felt earned, and I doubt it would have raised anywhere near the fuss Disney probably believed it would have.
GamesULove Well, the lesbian kiss scene is edited out in A LOT of countries because a lot of countries still perceive homosexual subject matter as for mature audiences only. Where I currently live (Singapore), they cut it out so that it could make PG-13 as anything which shows homosexuality automatically has an “18” rating. It’s fucking stupid but a lot of countries aren’t progressive.

OR DIE" yet again, etc. Yawn, but then what happens? Rey is remorseful at killing him so she suddenly turns into a Christ figure and raises him back from the dead like Lazarus!
The thing that makes "Rise of Skywalker" so extremely painful to watch, is not only the bad and stupid things about it, the plot, what Jar Jar and Kathylee Kennedy FORCE the actors to do to their characters, and the SHEER SCALE of all this fuckery! BRINGING PEOPLE BACK FROM THE DEAD IS A NEW FORCE POWER! DID YOU HEAR THAT, LUKE? Time to bring Ben and Leia, and Han back for the next Star Wars Trilogy! Nobody dies in the SW universe now, it's all sunshine, rainbows, and just one big happy joke!
I really feel like Kyle ren was the best character in the trilogy the thing is it wasn’t the actors it was the script
They should have given Abrams more creative control and not let 2 directors with different visions juggle the same trilogy
Ruby Hypatia Eh, Legends has a few series with multiple writers and the story was coherent. The problem is that they didn’t pre plan the entire trilogy ahead of time.
They definitely shouldn’t have handed it off to an SJW soy boy who doesn’t even like Star Wars
If JJ had done all 3 films, everything would’ve been much more smooth and connected.
Maybe, or maybe he would have given us another "Lost" ending.
oh my sweet summer child. Jar Jar butchered them exactly as we knew he would, and kept butchering and butchering except with film instead of animal guts. I knew better to expect something good, I was only hoping for something WATCHABLE... alas, they could not do it. I didn't try to watch them until there was literally nothing else left to watch, I knew it was time when i broke down and watched X-Men, and by the end (took me 3 days to watch the Jean Grey one) my expectations were rock bottom so I figured I was ready for Star wars! Wrong. The Last jedi" and "rise of Skywalker" were so devastatingly disappointing it made me wanna throw my comp out the window. Jar Jar's botched up abominations were such utter cluster-fucks of dreck that never cease to insult my intelligence. These films are so stupid I feel like I'm wasting my life by trying to watch them. But they are so bad i get bored senseless, get up out of my chair/bed and start doing something else, even cleaning things, or, anything else. Thank you Kathylee Kennedy and Jar Jar for destroying my dream of Star Wars forever.
The Force Awakens was really good. It was the only one I saw in theaters.
@@jay_sun2088 TFA wasnt't "really good movie" but still best of the new triology.

I was expecting Anakins force ghost to be the reason Kylo gives up being evil like being explained that he died a good man etc and wanted ben to still exist
Chris Heryla but seeing Han works too.
Ruben Torres it works but anakin would of been better. He was the reason Ben became kylo. Han wasent the best dad
Ruben Torres well not really Han being a force ghost doesn’t really make sense considering the existing canon.

Wolf Warrior grammar 100
@@yaredrod Thats very true, however it would have been very easy to write in a line for Harrison Ford bringing up that Leia had sent him to Ben, or something along those lines, it’d have made more sense and it wouldn’t cause any difficulty with them not having enough scenes of Carrie Fisher. I think that’s essentially what most people are trying to get at, is that it could have been explained easily even though Carrie had passed away.
Anakin or a Darth Vader ghost talking to Ben would be way more emotionally impactful because Anakin/Vader went through what Ben had been going through
If Rey and Ben didn’t have feelings for each other Ben wouldn’t have a reason to give his life for her.
Kylo Ren: I ship you
Rey: =/
Honestly I don’t buy for a second JJ didn’t want the two of them to end up together. He set it up in TFA, Rian Johnson JJ (executive producer) emphasized their flirting in TLJ.
@@hollandfray4521 Abrams literally called Kylo entering her mind as "mind-rape", so no I don't think he sat anything up in TFA between them.

I like it.

I know that John Boyega and J.J. Abrams said he wasn’t going to confess feeling for Rey, but the force sensitive thing makes no sense.
I'm not commenting on TLJ's quality, I'm commenting on JJ's mindset

I want a director's cut. I think that it might help to round everything our and answer more questions. The cut that we all got was definitely rushed.
Still mad how they killed off all of the Skywalker's
Finn and Poe were the only character with tangible romantic chemistry and the higher ups decided to cut it? I’m so fucking tired of Disney trying to market themselves as some sort of revolutionary/creative company when it’s fairly clear the only reason their kiss scene was cut because they feared die hard Star Wars fans would hate it.
It’s funny cause most of the die hard SW fans I know agree that Finn and Poe made sense. Kylo and Rey kissing is the part that felt weird to me.

“Quadrilogy” is not a word. The correct term is tetralogy.
Justin all of star wars doesn’t exist and you point that out?
"Trilogy" is the Greek word for a story told in 3 parts. "Tetralogy" is the Greek word for a story told in 4 parts. "Pentalogy" is the Greek word for a story told in 5 parts.
"Quadrilogy" is a bastardized mix of the Latin prefix "quad", meaning 4, and the Greek suffix "logy", meaning a study or set of texts, to create a word that means "story told in 4 parts", when the Greek already had a word for just that millennia ago from the root as the commonly used word "trilogy".
