The way he talks about sobriety, he is still so uncomfortable talking about where he was, that’s a dose of real right there, so I don’t see why he gets so much hate.

Most people hating ivan arent hating the dude they dont know, theyre ripping on the vocalist. A few people in the metal community see him as a Phil Anselmo wanna-be. Others just hate the band for being pseudo metal. Like how people hated nickleback for being what they were. I personally cant stand ivans singing but hes a solid dude. I like how he admits to passing out during tatoos lol.

@bucky468 to each their own. I think the remake is fan-fucking-tastic. Musically it has way more dynamic than the original (which is fucking amazing). I think it's sad that Bad Company has to find a negative aspect of the song to justify its "unworthiness," doesnt seem very rock and roll to me. If I ever wrote a bad ass song and 30+ years later a band wanted to remake it because of the inspiration it had on them I would be ecstatic.

I love ivan, man. I’ve met him a couple of times, and he even let me sing with him when he dove into the crowd at a show...most incredible moment of my entire life. Such a cool dude, and I’m so glad that he decided to get sober. This guy is a hero to me.

This is a man that has been through a ton of stuff and deserves to be appreciated and admired and looked up to as a role model

I had the pleasure of meeting Ivan multiple times onboard the ShipRocked Cruise 2012 & 2014 when he didn’t have many of the tats he has now.
He was extremely down to earth and humble and complimented my 5FDP Skull tattoo on my arm which was awesome!

Took my daughter to her first concert tonight. Ivan touched on so many topics about recovering, depression, suicide, everything. It that all hit her personally because we lived through all that. She loved FFDP and she is ready for another one now!!!!

I don't completely hate the band. They have one or two good songs I can think of.

Havent listened to ivan moody in years he seems so much more mellow and his voice is lighter (still deeper than 95% of people)
Ivan is one of the best persons I've ever heard talking about real life stuff. He has been an inspiration in many ways to me.
Much respect Ivan, sobriety is a good thing for some of us.
I love his attitude with sobriety and how its something that he will carry with him - Ivan seems to be so down-to-earth and real - the "death" experience is so humbling and truly emotional. The rebirth has proven that he IS the man he was meant to be - sometimes, we have to throw ourselves in front of the bad shit before it gets us. He did! Inspirational and simply wonderful!

The part where you talk about sobriety and the snake skin tattoo. How it symbolize shedding skin. Thank you for sharing. I lost my best friend to excesvly drinking his body shut down and his parents had to make the decision to take him off life support, the memory of holding his hand as he took his final breath is forever bured into my memory, I loved him so much. I am so thankful you are sober it means more than you know to your family, friends, and your extended family (your fans) stay on the sober path and have the courage to reach out if you feel the dark urges rearing there ugly head. it was an honor to get sober with ya my dude. really cool to hang out with a guy thats got so much respect for us vets!! I have had some speed bumps the most recent being my mother passing 46 days ago. Had a two week relapse and im back on the wagon. Meant the world to me to hang out and get to know ya Ivan and im proud of ya on behalf sober vets everywhere, thanks man. Even though u probably dont remember me lol.

Congrats on getting sober it's a hard thing to do. I've died at the hospital 8 times and was revived. I was in a medically induced coma from mothers day to fathers day. I had a fever of 107.8°f, for a week from sepsis. When I woke up I had attraffy don't know if i spelled that correctly, but I had to go to an old folks home for a month to learn how to walk again. All of this from going sober stone cold after drinking a 1.75 Liter of Yukon jack a day plus beers and other alcohol. I've been sober now since 2009, I've had momentary relapses but I've noticed as i get older I hate the way I feel after drinking and the urges have subsided significantly since passing 40 yrs of age. Again best of luck to you, and if you stumble don't get down on yourself about it. Just get back up dust yourself off and hold your head up high.

As a man who has never really struggled with substance abuse, I have mad respect for men like him, and Andy Biersack, and anyone who is in the entertainment industry, especially music, who gets clean and sober. Mad respect, my dude.
This guy gives me so much hope for my family, he gives me hope for my dad who has a problem with addiction. I love the music, and everything about him.

The absolute best show I have ever seen FFDP. I would see them over and over. It was a music fest but Ivan just totally stole the show for me. I love how he is an entertainer but keeps things real. The one I saw, (before I got too sick to go anymore) he trusted the crowd to walk off stage onto their hands that were in the air and kept performing. He also pulled all the kids onstage, let them sing a song with them and sent them with memorabilia. Just INCREDIBLE interaction with his fans. Best memory of anything I've ever went to in my life.
He is an inspiration I found ffdp in the darkest time of my life and was led out of the darkness by the depth in the words in his music. Then I showed my husband that same depth and it had the same impact...like the Phoenix we rise.

I think it's pretty damn awesome that he has that pheonix tattoo, because normally pheonix's are reborn from the ashes. So him symbolically using the pheonix and the shedding of skin is really powerful.

The Ohio State Reformatory is one of the coolest buildings in the world. I recommend people do go through the haunted house they do in it every year, as well as the overnight tour. The day tour is cool too if you wanna see the architecture

I've always been able to pick a day and just simply quit drinking for months or years. 10 years was my long stretch. Fast forward to today and I can't seem to get a grip on it even after heart surgery, a code blue, a pacemaker and now unexplained episodes of passing out. Maybe this time I took it a bit too far. Congratulations to those of you that put that demon back in the bottle. Maybe tomorrow for me.
