I’m so sorry Sharida. I lost my oldest daughter ( she was 19 years 12 days old when she passed) and my mom 10 months apart 4 years ago. There is definitely a comfort and power in fragrance. And UA-cam fragrance videos have been a great escape and outlet for me and I thank you and the fragrance community ❤God bless you 🙏🏻

I lost my dad in 2010 and I bought a bottle of his aftershave and sprayed it on
His shirt. Whenever I want to feel close to him I spray his shirt and inhale his favourite aftershave. It makes me feel like he’s still there ❤

Beautiful video Sharida ❤, I recently lost my dad as well. His favourite scent was Bleu Turqoise by Armani and it became my mom’s signature scent:). For comfort, I’ve been reaching for Loubirouge, Orchidee Vanille, Father Figure, Abrakaadabra and Changing Constance. It’s going to be a period of deep reflection and adjustment in the coming months. Be kind to yourself, he’s so proud of you:)

My therapy fragrance is Elizabeth Arden Green Tea 💚 I know it’s a classic but my mother gave it me at like 22. She stills loves it and I love it know. The notes make me feel calm and less anxious. I’m wishing you much success in your healing journey.
Still keeping you in prayer! I lost my mom 4 years ago and it was the greatest pain I have ever felt in my whole life. To know someone who walked this earth with me for 43 years was gone broke me and it triggered a relapse with my depression. And when I’m depressed I shop to make myself feel better (which has been fragrances lately), but that high only lasts for so long and as you said in the video it may be therapeutic but it’s not therapy. So I started therapy at the beginning of the year and it’s one of the best things I have done for myself. Praying that therapy is healing for you mentally and emotionally.
I'm so sorry about your loss Sharida. I know how you feel. Last year I lost my mom (she was 51) and that is how I started getting into perfume. It's my therapy. I tried depression medicine but decided to stop and just found comfort in buying perfume! Thank you for this video girl

Yesterday was the anniversary of my mom’s passing. It hit hard yet again. So, this came right on time. Amouage Sunshine both lifted my spirits and reminded me of her. ❤
Like many here, a chokehold depression was how I got into after my dads loss in 2021. The impact of different perfumes, aromatherapy on moods and mental health is insane. When self-care was at a lowest point, I looked forward to bathing due to the fact that I knew I had a wonderful scent to spray on after. The fragrances that did that to me during that time was a sample of Meliora I received
When I tried Santal 33 and another 13, there was no competition, another 13 was the winner for me, it’s amazing.
My grandmother is in cardiac ICU with advanced heart failure. It’s been really hard to get through these days. Unknown Pleasures, Buontalenti, Dulce Diablo, Eau Duelle have been on my neck lately. Something about a sweet gourmand that makes me feel like things will be okay. I’m sorry for your loss, Sharida. My heart is with you.

Getting into perfume brought me back to life. 2020 broke me into 1,000 pieces. From the world to personal trauma, all magic was gone for me. Prior I had never worn perfume ever. I started getting into perfume & it lifted me up in ways therapy couldn’t (not a replacement for therapy lol). But it made me excited to get out of bed each day & match a fragrance to my plans or outfit or mood. Or excited to try a new fragrance. Besides the fact that smelling things that smell good is just…nice. Society ignored the power of the senses often I think & mainly the sense of smell is ignored!
Continuous prayers. Sending a virtual hug. Fragrances are definitely therapeutic, but not therapy. They give that sense of calm. 🙏🏽

I just lost my step dad Friday, I still feel like I cant breath some days. But scent memory or just feelings they can create is and will always be something i will be thankful for so this video couldn’t have come at a better time. Pain like this I dont wish on anyone 💔

I have a sample of Kerosene but I guess I have to wear it around folks to judge. My mother passed four years ago and it’s a pain that’ll never fade. You learn to live with the loss but the memories are there and those bring happy tears. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Fragrance is absolutely aromatherapy. I too, suffered the loss of my father and just when I thought I was healing I lost my brother. I completely understand where youre coming from because even the scent I wore at their funerals is everlasting. On a brighter note, Scherzo was my very first Oud it is a lasting memory of you, along with Mahni Cassonade
Sharida, I'm so sorry about the loss of your dad. I understand that pain, unfortunately. I lost my mom on 11/30/23. I had purchased her a bottle of Origins Ginger Essence (an old signature of hers, long discontinued) last summer with plans to gift it to her for Christmas. Well, she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor on 10/24/23 and passed on 11/30/23. I never got to give it to her but I did tell her about it when she was still able to talk and hear and it made her happy. This is also my first significant loss and I'm 45. She was only 69. I've never felt pain like this before. I'm so sorry that you had to go through the same thing. There are no words. ❤💜

I know there are no words to express the loss of a parent and the mental and emotional affect it has on every area of your being. Like losing the ground beneath your feet. 2 years after the loss of my mother, I realized the smell of Jasmine and of Lavender activated a calmness and comfort that reminded me of my Mother. I agree. Fragrances can be extremely therapeutic.

Bianco Latte at first I thought it was too senthetic on my skin, but now I am obssesed with it, and I get so many compliments while wearing it 😍
I lost my dad on 1/22/2024 just after you lost your dad .. very very unexpected and at 48 it was also my first substantial loss … as a nurse I am forever questioning what did I miss . I pray everyday the pain will subside … it bugs me when people say time heals .. time doesn’t heal … time merely passes . I have also been in therapy and that helps substantially. I love fragrance but just started the journey this past October 2023 .. my friends are telling me that while grieving I should stay away from fragrance because I may associate a particular fragrance with his passing . But scents indeed bring me comfort . My dad’s service is this Saturday and I’m stuck on what to wear although I’m told to wear nothing … my cozy perfumes are Bianco latte . Angel share .. van 28 , Dama Bianca, roses Vanille Amore cafe .. escapade gourmand…mfk gentle fluidity gold sharida do you have any suggestions ?
I’m so sorry for your loss. This is not different at all. I went through the same thing and as human we tend to gravitate towards good things that will help comfort us in our darkest days. This was my coping mechanism too. Thank you for putting out this video.

Stay strong. I'm glad you talking with a therapist because grief can be insidious and disruptive. I'm a psych nurse so I know quite a bit about grief and what it can do if you don't get the appropriate help. Thanks for spreading the qord as well cause there are so many people out there who don't seek the help they need. My top most therapeutic perfume is Roses Vanille. I don't know what it is about it but it's my go to. I'll never be sick of it. I have all the ones you mentioned today but I don't have the new Geurlain one, so I add it to my list. I need to give my pocket a break first😅. All the perfumes you mentioned are phenomenal, and I love them all so much.

My sincerest condolences. 🫂 The fragrance that soothes my soul is Tokyo Blue because it reminds me of my grandfather. When I'm having a bad day, a warm sweater & Tokyo Blue. It smells just like my grandfather.
