I'm a revert, new to islam, and still learning. Why is it jews and muslims don't get along? If we have these similarities, I'd think we would get along.

Not at all. Islam at its core is beautiful and simple the major challenge is resisting the nafs (ego) which requires suppressing lusts, anger, pride, more animalistic desires. As you conquer this Islam becomes as wonderfully easy as drinking water on a hot day ❤
You'll experience hardship in this world, it's a guarantee, also being "challenging" =/= being false, in fact I'd say the opposite as they're countless ahadith of the Prophet ﷺ listing challenges and difficulties that'll come at the end of times, this's the time of fitan (tribulations) and trials. 90:4 "We have certainly created man into hardship." If you're a muslim, I'd urge you to strengthen your faith (iman), and as good news, I'll this hadith: Abu Umayyah ash-Sha'bani said: I asked AbuTha'labah al-Khushani: What is your opinion about the verse "Care for yourselves". He said: I swear by Allah, I asked the one who was well informed about it; I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about it. He said: No, enjoin one another to do what is good and forbid one another to do what is evil. But when you see niggardliness being obeyed, passion being followed, worldly interests being preferred, everyone being charmed with his opinion, then care for yourself, and leave alone what people in general are doing; for ahead of you are days which will require endurance, in which showing endurance will be like grasping live coals. The one who acts rightly during that period will have the reward of fifty men who act as he does. Another version has: He said (The hearers asked:) Messenger of Allah, the reward of fifty of them? He replied: The reward of fifty of you. Imagine, getting the reward of 50 of the companions of the prophet ﷺ.. may Allah SWT strengthens our iman and make us of the righteous, آمين يا رب العالمين
Jesus already came 2 THOUSAND YEARS AGO but the teachers of the law, Pharisees, Rabbi rejected Him even though John the Baptist witnesses that Jesus is the awaited Messiah.... The second coming of Jesus is more problematic to Jews and Christian today ...

In Islam, Jesus is the messiah not the mahdi.
There is no jesus. There is only Isa Ibn Maryam a.s
