  • Hello everyone!
Welcome back to the farm. I hope everyone had a nice holiday season.
This week we're doing something a little different. There are a couple technologies that have been sweeping the news and digital media outlets (UA-cam, TikTok, etc.) recently. These technologies are ChatGPT and MidJourney. Both of these technologies are web-based services, and both represent a radical new movement, which is the CONSUMER-GRADE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE movement. Said a different way, these services take the complex and highly technical fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and wrap them in interfaces that make them both useful as well as USABLE by the average person. Both of these services respond to natural language prompts, and this means that you are able to directly talk to these services in the same way that humans speak to one another (in various languages, too) and the systems will understand what you are looking for.
Now, these two services aren't related. They both do completely different things, but there are clever ways to use them together to maximize the utility of both services. In our example in this video, I have been using a combination of ChatGPT and MidJourney to help me visualize a design for a cabin I want to build on my back acreage. I have spent hours over the past few weeks playing around with both ChatGPT and MidJourney for this purpose, so I figured if it was beneficial for my uses then it might be beneficial for other people too. I'm happy to share this content with you, and I hope that you will find some utility in these services either being used together, or if you have specific uses in mind for one or the other independently. Links to the services are below.
If you come up with any interesting uses for these technologies, please leave me a comment. I'm always interested in how people may use these services. If you're new to the channel, I invite you to subscribe and I welcome you this channel's journey to rehabilitate an old farm (including through the use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies). 🧠🤖
Don't forget, I have setup an email address for this channel - buyingthefarmny@gmail.com. If anyone would like to send a note, discuss a particular topic, share your stories, or to contact me for any other reason, please feel free!
Thanks for stopping by, and we'll see you on the next video!!

I used to do a LOT of work with the US Govt, which is the best example I can think of for REAL IGNORANCE. The best way I can think of to improve and fine tune AI, is to create software that takes what was originally asked of the US Govt, turn it into a prompt that is the EXACT OPPOSITE.....and you will, with 99% certainty, get EXACTLY what you wanted!

Hahahahahaha this is an awesome comment, Python!!! :-) What I'm REALLY interested in seeing, is how the underlying AI system behind ChatGPT (GPT3 and shortly GPT4) is going to be used in real-world scenarios thanks to the training the model(s) have received since the launch of ChatGPT. As always, thanks for watching and taking the time to leave me a comment!!

I deal with artificial intelligence every day. It's called life with 2 pugs. None the less these 2 are brothers and have never been separated. No 2 days are ever the same.
Now as far as what you were doing, totally no nothing about it. Although it's kinda kool.

Hahahahaha - yea, this is a totally different sort of artificial intelligence, Lonnie! There's no slobber with this kind. LOL. I'm glad you liked the content though. ;-)

@@BuyingTheFarm I usually get more sneezes than slobbers.
My black pug, when I was away from her for even a min she'd have to inspect me and sniff my beard. Think that's the main reason I keep it as long as I did when I had her.
Afterwards she'd sneeze in my face. And just as I'd think she wasn't going to she'd nail me with it. Named her Pearl, name was very fitting, and she was definitely one of a kind.
But Matilda was probably my favorite. When I first got her I looked down at her and asked how does Matilda sound for a name. She looked up at me with a approving look. She played it up on getting treats and all.
Now I have these 2 dum nuts. Mack and Pugsley. On a good day it's dum and dummer. 🤔🤨🤪🤪

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I like the experience before you do technique. In this case I would consider staying at some Verbo/AirBNB at various cabins. in my opinion I think kit is also important to visualize/engineer for the direction of the sun and shadows. Do you want your bedroom to face the sun in the morning? for hot summers, do you want your bedroom facing the sun in the evening?

Nick, thank you very much for the comment. VERY valuable wisdom in your statements about orienting the cabin direction. This isn't really anything I would have paid attention to, as currently I'm more focused on size and appearance of the cabin. This has made it to my construction list though! Thanks for watching and commenting!
