Honestly when I clicked on one of you’re videos I thought you had at least a few 100 thousand subs bc of you’re confidence video quality and good content can’t wait to watch more videos
I think the presentation is the most important. You are great enterteiner the video and content are great as well. My prediction you will pass 100K this year.
Some of his Songs might be why, but the other is why he does not have now a year later over 200,000 being stuck at just under 149,0000 subscribers is that he is doing archery and that is something they have dropped the ability to make money on due to a CYA by UA-cam so they also do not promote those videos to under 18 either.
Bro, I never even shot a "real" bow but found myself watching a lot of your videos these days. I came here after seeing your "attempt at 200" video. Gotta say I'm really proud of you for some reason. Glad to see someone having genuine fun and being successful at something they built from scratch. This is art man, and you're killin it. Keep having fun, respect from Macedonia.
Nice. Love your enthusiasm. I was doing this like you are 10 to 15 yrs ago, and I know how you feel. Making bows that shoot well is addictive. I seems all I could think about was bows, bows, and more bows. Definitely weat a respirator when sanding. I got very sick once. Look up old primitive archer magazines. They had bow builders submit bows every issue, and would receive bow of the month honors. Very inspiring. Most of us traditional shooters stick to 9 to 11 grains per pound. Most manufacturers also state that in there warranty. They caution going below 8gpp. It ruins the bow. Puts to much stress on them. It's like dry firing your bow. The bow is smoother and whisper quite at those higher arrow weights. Those IBO speeds they are using very light arrows. Like 3 to 4 gpp. If compounds were advertised with 9 to 11gpp, they wouldn't be so far off of traditional bows in there speeds.
I've been watching your channel now for a quick minute, and I have to say I really appreciate the amount of attention you give the Reflex Deflex design. It's not very common, but it's such a nice platform. I have a 1950's Bear Polar Reflex/Deflex long bow, and she shoots very well.
I'd like to thank you for trying to help educate us you have inspired me to pick up the old Indian bow and try to put a backing on it so it would be serviceable again
I was looking for a channel that showed exactly what you do. Own bows. Bows made of basic or simple materials. Please continue to teach how to make bows like this. Thanks.
Dude!! Great videos. Much love from the UK. Unfortunately bow hunting was banned here in 1965 so apart from recreational shooting of which there’s not much we have lost our archery history and for a Welshman that’s a crying shame. We were the best long bowmen in the world!
I started by hate watching your pallet bow build but ended up really enjoying the videos. Good job with your production (my weakest area) and getting people into building their own bows. Keep it up.
This channel was recommended to me a couple of days ago. Subscribed after the first video viewed. What so hard about this channel is that it takes a lot of will power to not binge watch the list of videos. It's so hard rationing them to only a few a day.
man, you are really great the fact that you make vids on how to do the same bows as you sell only for people to have the experience to make them themselves only shows your love for this, if I had the money besides making one myself I'd buy one of yours only to support you, best wishes for you from Spain man
Impressive and informative. I am growing 3 spices of building grade bamboo and can't wait to cut my own bamboo and try out your methods. Thanks for the vid and I am subscribed
I for one would like to see you and any other youtube archery channel start using energy calculations when talking about their bows and chrony tests. This is the true measure of a bows' efficiency and power corrected for arrow weight.
@@reddbow9060 I myself have a shorter draw length so I have found I am pulling less draw weight than others which also means probably won't see 180 fps with 500 grain arrow. I hunt deer and hogs and 500 grain arrow would be close to my starting arrow weight .
I have a ragim wolf 68" #55 at 30" and im hitting around 205 fps at full draw with 555gr wooden arrows. Definitely a good bow you made yourself there, really wish I had the tools to make even a selfbow let alone a laminated bow lol.
Just recently stumbled upon your channel, I haven't made a bow in about 7 years, and stopped shooting maybe 5 years ago. I think you've inspired me to get back into it all. Now if only the weather can warm up so my hands don't freeze to my tools.
congrats, with a hunting arrow 120 plus the bow weight is usually the most you can expect. (properly splined arrow plus 125 to 150 gr. point.) my Bear takedown will do 208, and it is a recurve and heavily modified for shooting in the old "hunter div." in field archery. it is 65 pounds. a long bow even a recurve long bow that is more than w+120 is enormous. sometimes a Hill long bow will do this. they use the same woods as you do on some of the bows. have you tried more lams, thinner, bamboo +ipe +bamboo, etc. maybe 5 lams?? I think you are in uncharted water. keep up the good work. from a 65 year veteran of archery
I've tried on two differnt builds to make a good bow and today I think I watched almost all of your videos XD. You've shed some light on things that I've skipped over and I'm confident that next build will be better. And I just bought my first recurve so north west Arkansas is about to have a now bow hunter 💪
I like to buy one of your bows this summer after winter lol. I use to make bows when i was younger your making me think on making one again. Not that it would be as good as yours your talented.
nice, pretty bow. i make fiberglass lam longbows. just a brief word of caution, generally recommended not to go much below 9 gpp on traditional bows, can shorten the life of um quite dramatically (lighter the arrow closer you get to dry fire). probs fine for a few arrows just to see how much speed you can get, tho i'd break it in with the heavier arrows for a good while first. nice work tho!
I love how this video, not even a week old, has a thank you sign in it for 10k subscribers. In 6 days you've more than doubled your count! 22k! It's only the 2nd video of yours I've watched, but it's quality work and I'm glad things are starting to take off. 100k soon?
Interesting bow-blanks. Thinking about buying one. To the speed test - i think that you should test it with more like 10GPP - Anything under 9GPP(but 185fps with 9.25GPP is nice!) is rather uncommon for most people(in traditional archery). A lot of traditional bow-makers say that you should use 9+GPP. I'd be affraid to shoot so light arrows as you do in a long run. Nevertheless nice job and keep it up! 200+fps is impresive with such a simple bow design. Thank you.
Max Speed Bow! When I was a kid I once made a bow out of only a whole stick of bamboo and using bailing rope for my string. I used smaller pieces of bamboo with duct-tape tips as arrows. It shot pretty slow.
Well done Kramer, your knowledge and skill level crafting primative bows is astounding. I shoot compound but have always wanted a cam-less bow except I wanted to make it. Now I can "try" to replicate your fine work step by step, im excited. I want to build 3 of your bows already. Good stuff, keep it up!
My woven carbon ILF recurve goes 200 fps with #5 less draw weight and that are arrows 50 grains heavier. To do that with a longbow made with only laminated wood isn't bad at all.
Fantastic My friend, another 1000 subs since this morning, you are rock Thanks for sharing this video with us, it was another really fun video. keep up the great work and have a blessed weekend. Dale
Your production quality is excellent, keep up the great work! very informative as well! How do you get the reflex/deflex built into the boards? I'm sure i'll find it in another video soon but haven't seen it yet. My last attempt with a heat gun was... not very successful
That bow is awesome ive wanted to get into this hoby for a while. Im pulling 60lb on a 58" bear grizzly and had a 400 grain arrow going 208. I went up to a 530 grain and am in the upper 170's and lower 180s have a 32 1/2" draw
Kramer, I have a hand made long bow that has fiber glass backing. I have been considering increasing the draw weight from 45 lbs to about 55 lbs. Now to complicate things, I did not make this bow myself, but if I were to shorten the string by 2 to 4 inches by moving the knocks inward without removing the original knocks would that make the draw weight increase and then decrease when restrung to the original knocks?
I just found this channel. Man this is awesome please don’t stop doing what your doing. Your videos have so much information in them. This is something I have always wanted to learn but it seems like a lost art. I love shooting a bare long bow or recurve . But I don’t have a lot of information other than trial and “ oops “ love what your doing
How about a video where you take a couple of bows and show the difference between a dacron and fast flight strings? Show the ups and downs of both types of strings.
What would happen if you used fiberglass tape in both sides of the bow instead of just the outside?? Would it be faster, stronger?? Love the builds. Can't wait to see what's next

Long shot question I know, but hey, you can't answer if I don't ask!
Nice! Came in a 1k, BOOM!! 11K almost in a week! Did you mean “now we’ve got the Bowness” or are you officially coining the term “Bownus”! As in: this build gets Bownus points!
Good job, Kramer! I don't even know what I'm doing, but I ordered 2 staves...a 64 and a 68. I really like what you are doing, and I want to support you. I also want to learn about finishing a bow by doing it, and I trust you to do the basic construction. I consider your price to be a bargain, and I hope I don't screw up anything. ;)
I would be interested in buying one of these staves. I dont see them on your website?? Can you post a link or something. Thank you. I'm definitely inspired watching your videos to build my own bow!!
Hey Kramer. I've been wanting to build a BBI bow for many years now. I have all the materials except my hot box is only half size (for take down limbs). Do you think it would work to glue up, with smooth on, a full length bow, but heat it one side at a time? Do you think the glue would still cure? So glue and clamp the whole bow. Bake one half and then move it without taken the clamps off and bake the other side? Whats your opinion on that. (I don't want to build another hot box). Thanks ~ Gary
No e bow, I've build a few longbows , I have had great success shooting light carbon arrows and have had complete pass throughs with a 100 grain and 125 grain heads. Love your videos and you make a great looking bow. Good luck in the future.
I'm in the UK and would like to know which tools I'd need to tiller it, I've never built a bow like this before so any advice is appreciated. I don't have any tillering tools or know where to find them
you need a mounting setup like he has, which you can easily build from scrap wood; whats important is that you can draw the bow from further away so you can look at the limbs and how they bend. For tools you need a rasp, a carpenters scraper and some sanding paper ;)
@@SuperDominic4 Well in the end it is simple, remember that they did it since stone age. You can build a bow with a sharp rock. To build a good one you will need some practice. I encourage you to try. Regarding the tillering: If it looks right it is right. Your subconciousness knows physics ;)
If you're serious about this I suggest you look into a vacuum pump. Just vacuum pressing will improve your laminate game massively. If you nail vacuum infusion you're at peak laminate. *edit* You can actually combine heat and vacuum for maximum efficiency.
Ok so I watched your board bow video and it inspired me as I am by trade a woodworking person. I modified it a bit to my situation. I have a 66" ash bow Im building in a 50% stage right now. I need a bow string.
Thanks for the videos man👍. Made my first half decent osage bow when I was 14. Really hard to find the time for building these days. Way to live the dream dude!
Sweet bow and nice video. I really want to buy one of those blanks. I've made a bunch of self bows but never tried anything like that and think it would be fun to see what I could get out of it.
Wow!! I just found your channel today and have already watched 3 videos. You are very skilled and it is awesome that you are passing that knowledge and skill on to others!! Thank you for these incredible videos as I have been a long time archer and these are getting me excited to get one of your staves and try building my own bow! Subscribed and will be watching all of your videos!! 👍🏻
Damn I didn't realize I was an oddball till today! Holy shot archery competitively with my recurve. However I've always shot against compound Shooters. They use 350 grain light arrows I always used a 550 grain Arrow for a bow at 53 pounds. My arrow drops more but was practice it's not hard to love them in even at 60 yards. I might have to try to go to like seven grains per pound in try that after seeing this! I always just made my arrows made them consistent and shot them LOL!
That speed of 180 - 185fps with a hunting wt arrow is about right. In my opinion the 200-208 fps with the 350gr arrow would be ok for deer, antelope but not elk or bigger. Thanks for the great video...

you need a mounting setup like he has, which you can easily build from scrap wood; whats important is that you can draw the bow from further away so you can look at the limbs and how they bend. For tools you need a rasp, a carpenters scraper and some sanding paper ;)
@@Beowulf-sd5gh you make it sound so simple :)
@@SuperDominic4 Well in the end it is simple, remember that they did it since stone age. You can build a bow with a sharp rock. To build a good one you will need some practice. I encourage you to try. Regarding the tillering: If it looks right it is right. Your subconciousness knows physics ;)
Nice fast bow .
I just found your channel today and it is awesome. Good job!😄
Would you mind trying to shoot this bow with a 15 gpp and a 20 gpp arrow (Manchu weight) and tell the speed? I'm VERY curious! Fingers crossed! :)
I know you're all about the traditional bows but i would love to see you do a PVC bow! maybe a mix of wood and pvc somehow???
That was awesome.
I got a crazy idea. Make a bow with a tunnel in the center of the riser portion. True center shot
Done it. It ruins your sight window and makes aiming impossible.
@@kevinhawkins6811 10-4. Just never seen it, wasn't sure if it had been done
Very cool! Super inspired to make a bow!
He's almost got 90k subscribers in 5 months that's pretty good
Are these ready to glue bows still available?
Have you ever thought about doing a breaking strength video on different bow string materials?
That speed of 180 - 185fps with a hunting wt arrow is about right. In my opinion the 200-208 fps with the 350gr arrow would be ok for deer, antelope but not elk or bigger. Thanks for the great video...
That was a really cool you got 200+ feet a second
I was really interested in a stave, but the link seems to be broken.
Ditto.
