I'm a production employee at Peach Street Distillery and we definitely take extreme pride in our handcrafted spirits and doing things, well our way. I highly recommend trying our newly released Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey if you can get your hands on a bottle, mine definitely didn't last long!

I will say as a Coloradan I am proud of our booze game. Our craft beers are amazing, almost of our whiskey companies don't source their stuff, bear creek makes moonshine vodka and rye, we are even making sake. We are crushing the booze game

It's very hard to find but Peach Street makes a smoked rye. If you can find it, I would recommend it. If for anything, simply because of how unique it is.
I live ten minutes from the still... I'm gonna have yo ask about that next time I go!
I got a bottle of that for Christmas and it makes really good old fashions and sazeracs

The pastry Daniel is looking for is Pan Dulce and specifically a Concha. And they are delicious

My sister gave this to my mom, only because it has a basset hound on it. So someone has to drink it. It was cinnamon proofy spice at first, turned into a sorta Beam nutty. Tasty stuff from Colorado for sure.
Their pear and peach brandy are both excellent for cocktails! I think they also have a bourbon barrel aged gin and standard gin if you like that stuff.
At their "tasting room" they have a Bloody Mary that is excellent with their gin
"Banana bread type things"
The term is quick breads. Chemical (baking soda) leavened breads, like banana/zucchini bread, muffins, etc.
These guys were my fav whiskey I tried out in CO a number of years ago, just ending out Laws for my fav.
They also have a pretty great pear brandy!

These are the same folks as SKA brewing. Though keep their branding separate so Daniel and Rex don't rag on them for being a brewery.
Peach Street Distillers actually has completely separate location and production facilities than Ska too😊🥃

Rex suffers from a condition called CRS (can't remember shiat).
Last week's bottle was so much lighter, I can see where Rex would not recognize it as coming from the same distillery.
In psychology, there's explanations for why somebody picks on others. Here it seems apparent. One is a knowledgeable sommelier...the other an overgrown mooch sidekick.

In 2022, you guys should start writing down the first 3 notes you smell and then the first 3 notes you taste to see if you both come up with the same scents and tastes without being influenced by each other!
Where does that cherry note in some bourbons come from? Is it a particular char range? Length of aging? Mashbill?
Can you guys do a video explaining NAS whisky’s? I received a bottle of Muckle Flugga for Christmas and it doesn’t have an age statement so I, probably rather naively, assumed it was a young whisky but I honestly have no idea why you wouldn’t put the age on it otherwise
