I know everyone is making the Pogonip, it looks to be a great pattern, but I live in a warm weather climate, so sweaters are not for me ☺️☺️. The French dart dress is so elegant but with an edge. Looking forward to seeing your long sleeve version. I didn’t realise it doesn’t have a zip. Stella’s in the pink will go great with some of your Freya’s from Jan makes. Also looking for to seeing your bag complete with trademark 🌟🌟. Great vlog

Great plans! I made the Frankie trousers from a Beyond the Pink Door kit and the fit was good. Andreas video was brilliant. Also planning to make the Crossbody bag.

Sam you looked great in your cropped Southbank, so the Pogonip ( sp?) will equally good on you. I don’t want to put a dampener on your Marlo. But I find the cable fabric goes quite bobbly after a few wears and a couple of washes. I love the cable fabric have made 4 garments with it . Just such a pity it bobbles. Off to watch the rest of your vlog
Happy birthday, both of you 🎉😊 I can't join in the pogonip party, but for a great reason, I'll be cruising the Caribbean 😊 however it is in my plans as I'm thinking about making it out of black and white polka-dot rip stop fabric. I think that's what you call it, its the stuff you would use for a foldaway rain jacket 😊

It was lovely to see your plans, Sam. It is also my husband's birthday on the 4th, so i won't be going to the sewcial on Sunday as we have family plans. I am also planning a pogonip, and it will be my second attempt at welt pockets. I'm currently sewing the dandelion jacket with the welt pocket version. I have taken the pockets very slowly, and they seem to have come out ok. I hope you have a great birthday and enjoy your sewing day with friends 😊

What a wonderful assortment of projects you have planned. I adore the grey cable knit look fabric for the cardigan as well as the floral for the dress. Although it is difficult to be certain with the busy, multi-colored pattern, when you held up the pink fabric for the joggers, I thought that it would look lovely with the top you have on because it appears there is some of the same pink in it. I have enjoyed binge watching you channel as I am getting inspiration and trying to pluck up the courage to finally do something with a few pieces of treasured fabric. that I have had for FAR too long (some Harris Tweed and a piece of woven fabric from Israel) that I have not felt confident enough to use as they feel so precious. So I am starting small to work up my courage and your videos are definitely encouraging. Thank you.

Great plans Sam. I keep debating on whether to join in with the pogonip party, but not sure what fabric I’d use. I’ll have to take a look through instagram. I have the French dart dress too and have never made it up. I shall add it to one of patterns to sew this year from my stash! Look forward to seeing your makes soon xx
I love the French dart dress, it’s such a clever classy pattern.
I wasn’t sure about the pogonip at first but it’s definitely grown on me seeing it on other people.

Fabulous Sam, I have some quilted fabric I don’t know what to do with, I’ve just seen on the website there’s a great tutorial for the welt pockets, she suggests practicing those welts, I’m not into the back pocket. I have some lovely Boucle, I think I will use a contrasting fabric for the welts and placket.

No pogonip for me just cut out half of my first pattern omg found it quite stressful, is it just me 😂 have a great month x

I can understand why it might seem a bit overwhelming, there’s a lot of pattern pieces.
I’m just going to go slow and do it step by step, no pressure xx
Just a friendly tip for the pogonip, Sam. As you go through the process with your first one, count up now many layers have to be sewn through in various places. I think it's five to attach the collar and stitch down the facing. That defeated my machines, even the heavy duty Singer. I'd chosen pre-quilted fabric, which I realised, too late, was just not suitable. Your fleecy duvet cover might be problematic at that rate. It looks lovely and snuggly but quite thick. Try putting five layers together from small scraps and see how it goes, perhaps? Of course you could choose to hand sew the collar facing down. That would be an option. My hands don't like using a needle and thread these days. I overlocked all my cut edges and didn't fold the edge of the collar facing under. That reduced the layers by one on the collar and the cuffs and waisband.

Hi Sam, re welt pockets - Karina from Lifting Pins and Needles recently put out a very good video on single welt pockets. Her instructions are always very good. happy sewing from a very warm South Australia.

Another great video. Thanks Sam. Maybe you could try a thinner fabric for contrasting welt pockets. ? cream/tan linen. The contrast of textures maybe effective and much easier to sew.

Hi Sam, I bought sewing mag for The blouse pattern and then had a good look at the bag pattern after watching ( I think ) Andrea from Devon thread tails? who also made it. I am trying to reduce my stash ( also quilt so 2 stashes😱) so think that several folk will be getting a bag for birthday or Christmas ! Thanks for taking the time to vlog

Really like the bag. I have that pattern with the magazine. I liked the pinafore dress but am having difficulty with the sizing. I will keep trying though
