    Great video on showing what's possible with this camera in regard to software. I've been curious about using 360 cameras for traditionally framed video. Most of the videos I've seen only use an app, so knowing there is an actual computer application is really appealing!

    Fantastic and thanks Ben, and on the same day I just figured out how to use the phone app to do the same thing. Just need Insta360 to update the audio output too so us musicians (without Premiere) can use the audio in the footage as it still renders heavily compressed and wavy sounding when the source off One X camera is actually pretty good. I'll use my work renaming extensions insv to mp4 and recording from phone VLC to my zoom portable recorder in the meantime. Ben, I have to thank you as your content has shown me ways to use 360, allowing me to record my band's live performances discreetly, get multiple angles all without tonnes of gear.

I am a musician and film my busking sessions for UA-cam, so I can't wait to take it out with me and be able catch all my audiences cool reactions by easily swapping views from my performance to them as well as also trying out some 360 live streaming. Great video, Ben. I was missing how to use the transitions. Very helpful! I was able to edit an Insta360 photo natively without the trip to a video editor. First load the still photo file, then select the "Switch Projection" button on the top left of the editing interface. Frame your photo as you like. Then click the "Take Snapshot" button next to the transport controls. Save your photo. The photo will have a 6080x3040 resolution. Make sure the Studio window is maximized to see everything that will be exported in the snapshot.

    your tutorial helps a lot in understanding the INSTA STUDIO. What I'm really missing is, how to controll the speed (1/4 1/2 2 4 8 ....) between Keyframes, like you can do easily with the Android-APP in ViewFinder-Mode. Is there any secret I should know about?

    Thanks Ben, great video but I have a question. You recommend to use a bitrate of 100 to keep the maximum detail but now I can choose h265 instead of h264. First of all... And I've read that using h265 is better, is that true or is it better to keep using h264? But if I use h265, in h265, what is the recommended bitrate, do I also use 100 or maybe less? At the moment I have exported to 65 bitrate in h265, but I need to know your recommendation (note: I do not have space problems in hdd because I have a lot of hdd space only for video)

      @@BenClaremont Thanks Ben. I use Final Cut Pro, but I'm guessing that step has to be after everything 360 has been done, for instance, you can't cut a section out of a clip in FCP then put it back into the Insta360 app and change the viewpoint. Difficult workflow, I think you need to cut clips first, then do all the keyframing etc.
      If you were making a 5 minute video with over 30-40 clips, how would you go about it?

  • @JohnMRaggio
    @JohnMRaggio 4 роки тому +1

    Great Video. I've spent the weekend watching your stuff after buying a One X. Question - if I'm already fairly comfortable with Final Cut is there any advantage to using Insta Studio aside from having to first stitch the video in Studio to be used in FCP? In other words, if FCP also supports keyframes and the other things outlined here would I be missing anything else? I'd have to assume that FCP has lots of other features that Studio does not? Repeat same question for the Insta mobile app. ;-)

    • @BenClaremont
      @BenClaremont  5 років тому

      Thanks- hmm it didn’t look too crooked to me. It uses flowstate stabilization for One X footage so after exporting that should fix all horizon issues. For other cameras it won’t fix an unlevel horizon 👍

    Ben, Insta360 should give you a black belt in One X video editing. I downloaded the new version yesterday and played with it but missed some parts of it until watching your awesome review of the program. By the way, how did you make the funny face at the beginning of this review? I know some top comedians have rubbery faces so they can make funny faces- with Jerry Lewis being the master of that but I suspect your face isn't rubbery enough. So, what the trick? I gotta try that! Thanks again and I hope your career as a UA-cam "master" is very successful.

      Hey @onboardv - I think you made the same mistake that I did - their website is badly laid out. You want version 3.2.1 not 3.1.2. They have stacked them on the website one on top of the other with the older one first?!? Uninstall and try again with 3.2.1 - hopefully it will fix your problem like it did mine.

    Ben, this tutorial is great. Frustratingly, Adobe Premiere 5.5 doesn't seem to allow output a video file the same resolution as our 360 photos, so your trick doesn't work in software that old... Do you or anybody know of a video editor that can output 6080x3040 without having to get all the way into Premiere Pro CC? I'm not a pro video editor, I'm not doing this all the time... I literally have 1 photo I want to do a re-frame animation of. I find it so frustrating that Insta360 Studio just doesn't make this possible inside the software. It seems *SO* obvious a desirable feature.
    Anyway, if there is any other video editor or way to convert a 360 photo -> 5 to 10 second video that I can get back into Insta360 Studio that would be awesome. If anybody has a hint, thanks!

    Do you know if you can send 360 photo files from one phone to another persons phone with the 360 app so that they may be able to choose the angle of their preference?

    Question on Saving your edits.... before saving your edits should you be cloning or duplicating the files so that you can edit the original again? What is best practice when editing and saving files?

    Great tutorial Ben!!
    I am looking for the highest quality tiny planets posible with my bew OneR but the Insta360 Studio only exports eqirectangular (?)!!!. Is the mobile workflow the best way (in terms of preserving the highest quality posible)? Thank you for your work, you are a great inspiration!!!

    Thx so much! Is there a good software to combine two different 180 3d files? I‘m using insta360 evo!

      What do you mean combine 2 180s? I already made a video about this- if you’re trying to make 360 it won’t work with the 3D effect all the way around

    This is a great video Ben! I have one question. How can I cut out a middle part of the video if I don't need it?
    Thanks!

      You may have to edit the start and end as 2 individual clips 👍

    Hey Ben, I have a question, maybe you can help. Is the .insv file unstiched? So do I need to stitch it before I can upload it to youtube as a 360 video? Say I just want to use studio to stitch rather than trim clips etc how do I do that?

    I don’t understand all the exporting settings. For UA-cam and Facebook what is the best exporting settings? Is 3820 or 1080 better? Also, what bit rate I see you have 18 but others do 60? Also, h264 or h265?
    There is a huge black Stitching Line and the video is very blurry. Why? Maybe due to wrong exporting settings? It’s fine in the Desktop Studio App but only happens when it’s exports.
