Hey Mate, Thanks for your review. I bought some a couple weeks ago and had a couple of offroad rides with them and felt really secure around my almost repaired broken ankle with plates and screws. Had to go up two sizes cause stilled swollen up pretty well. Let me get back on the bike though, so thanks heaps mate.
I had the same prob with the kickstart going through my old tech 8s so I’ve got a set of these on order, good value for money and good kickstart protection. Cheers for the review 👍
I just picked up a bike that has some offroad chops (Husky 701) so bought a pair of these for a super cheap boot I can wear for getting back into offroad riding. I'm coming from street boots (Daytona M-Star GTX for the street and Dainese Axial D1's for the track). The biggest challenge for me is not being used to boots that are so stiff... wore them as new and shifting was difficult, braking feel was nonexistent. With my other boots even when new they had designs that allowed plenty of flex so feel was never a problem. Now I'm wearing the Oneal's around the house to try to break them in before another attempt to ride. They do feel like they're already bending a LOT more than out of the box.
Still recommend these boots? Im picking up my first bike today and going to get some riding boots. I'm a big dude so I need a Wide Toebox. I wear pretty much the same size as you. Im mainly doing alot of flat desert riding and some easy trail riding.
@@Beyond2Wheels are they splash proof? I do some adv riding through the woods and there is good few puddles so if they splash over will they keep water out?
Hey man, when you said you have larger calves how large are they.. I'm lookin g for a set of boots that will fit my wide foot and large calves. My calves measure 20" around at the larger spot. You think it would fit in the boot.
Matt Russell yup, great boots, they loosened up quite a bit, I always wear them when going offroad. I really like the buckle system they have, my previous boots were alpine star tech 6s that I had for like 10 years. I hated the buckles on them.
Beyond2Wheels OK how was the foot fit if I use a size 13 shoe do I need to do the "normal" dirt bike boot fit and go to a 14? Or do these ones fit to size? Plus I have a wide foot as well.
I think if you are new to mx racing and you aren't racing super hard, you could get away with these boots. But if you are serious about racing, invest in the best. Pay once, cry once. You can't put a price on safety.
Five years later they are still the same boot with updated logos great review.
a review from a user! Exactly what I was looking. Thanks for the video
great review...glad to know someone else out there doesn't fall into the boot snobbery trap. keep up the good work on the vids 😉

Matt Russell I wear a 12.5-13 depending on the boot, I got a 13. They are pretty true, I would just go down to cycle gear and try them on
Would you recommend these for mx racing?

Hello, can i ask for a pair of your used boots?
