Stan, absolute props to you for stepping up and sending it. That looked like a podium run if you stomped it. You’re a total beauty. Representing the Whistler old guys.
The GoPro footy of that cliff at the bottom makes it look even crazier. Respect for sending that thing considering how brutal the conditions were! Also the tree tap on the second air was a nice touch.
Ah we all go through it, at least i know i do at lest 6-9 times a season so I'm ok and open to talk about it. Its not always awesome pow and perfect landings unfortunately but i wish it was. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Was simultaneously dreading and looking forward to this episode. That crash was gnarly and I'm sure everyone watching is glad you weren't more seriously hurt. Amazing that you found your GoPro afterward, too! That tree tap was totally missed on the TV footage. Steezy. And hey, at least the Saudan race won't seem so bad this year by comparison (if WB can run it 😬).
😂 I hope they do run it and that I am around for it again! And you are totally right even though skiing down the Saudan on a pair of GS skis is always a little terrifying!
The creativity, risk and the absolute intensity you charged that line with was unmatched in that comp... even with the young bucks. Glad you missed those trees :)
Cheers, I looked up to JP and McConkey growing up and they made skiing look so fun and always had a smile on their face so I tried to be like them. That’s a huge compliment thank you!
"Doctors hate him for this one weird trick" - A few cold ones and getting loose on the dance floor... You're a legend Stan! Also has a TREE TAP that big ever been done in the FWT?
Hell yeah Stan! What an epic run with an even more epic fall! I actually had a similar though not quite as spectacular one in my fwq 4* here 2 years ago. Went for a backflip off that knob going into the steeper tree run out more skiers left and didn't quite get it around...did like 5 cartwheels down the steeps there hahaha
Was awesome to see you competing on the FWT. Was stoked to hear you would take part and hoped for a good place. Rewatched your run a few times by now. Hurts each time, again. Would love to see you again on the FWT. Wishing you all the best.
Much appreciated! I went for it but it didn’t quit go the way I had planned but that’s part of taking risks. Not sure if I’ll compete again but it was an amazing experience regardless!
You skiied fast and furiously!! Great job!!! I love that go big or go home mentality. Yeah, snow condition this year.. it’s tough. Glad you are ok the day after. And, this is probably the best vlog of this year for me.
Stan "The Freeride World Tour Send It" man haha. Oh man that was a nice line right there but who the freak put some kind of ski cement in your landing zone, holy cow! Well it didn't work out like we'd like but I gotta say 10 out of 10 for going for it plus an additional 10 for the most unexpecteded and magnificent full body tomahawk cartwheel I've ever seen lol. Hey, you can only achieve that when truly going all out, respect. Now for actually finding the GoPro after the fact, 100 pts easy. Man i figured it we be gone until mid summer at least haha. Result sucked but man I bet you had a blast 🙂
It was a blast indeed and I can’t be too upset as I knew I was taking a risk hitting that bottom air and unfortunately it didn’t pan out. Such is life and luckily I walked away from it with a sore neck a smile on my face and some great memories!
That tree tap on the second air! Thought you went Hank Bilous flung cat before I saw the go pro footage. Way to absolutely charge in those conditions. Side note: Salomon needs to sell that beanie your wearing. Styling and profiling.
I wish I coulda done a bit better of a job but I got caught up with the experience so I missed a few things but I still got most of it in! Stoked you enjoyed it regardless!
Way to send it ! ! You made the right choice and would have been in podium contention if you landed that monster. Awesome tomahawk. I'd rate that a very respectable 5/10 on the TBKO Scale. Look up 'Todd Brooker Kitzbuehel crash' if you don't know what my old as dirt ass is talking about. 😎
@@stanrey7 Your comments about stiffness of body parts after eating it are so relatable. I judge the severity of my crashes by the stiffness of my neck. The next day, 'Why is my neck so sore, oh right, now I remember!'
“Ready to send it… or you know what …. I’m not gonna say send it. I’m ready to put a good run down on my feet.” Love that about you hahaha was so cool to see you on the tour Stan the man
We did indeed. There is always someone who’s better than you in this town and that will push you to be better and I think that’s why Whistler breeds so many world class athletes!
Sick blog. Not much you can do when pioneering a zone you can’t guess the landing conditions. Appreciate your humbleness but you looked as good as any other rider out there
Thanks! Trying to show the teenagers and 20 year old that the 30 year olds can still compete😂. I guess I didn’t really need to show them as Kristofer and Carl do a great job of it!
No I for sure still get nerves in competitions and while filming still. It’s always a little extra pressure though in a competition scenario due to the people watching but mainly the pressure to perform well on that one run.
Stan, absolute props to you for stepping up and sending it. That looked like a podium run if you stomped it. You’re a total beauty. Representing the Whistler old guys.
Wo wo wo we’re not that old we’re just older then these young bucks that send like there’s no tomorrow. Hahah cheers!
Hahahaha holy shit Stan. Can't say you didn't send it baby! That was sick!!! Congrats.
🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
The GoPro footy of that cliff at the bottom makes it look even crazier. Respect for sending that thing considering how brutal the conditions were! Also the tree tap on the second air was a nice touch.
🤙 I tried my best out there but forgot what sport I was doing at the bottom when my gymnastic floor routine came out of nowhere.🤣
Great perspective from the helmet cam. You're probably guaranteed to make the season crash reel.
I couldn’t agree with you more!
Lots of respect for you sharing your post-tomahawk experience/soreness… vulnerable topic to talk about I’d imagine.
Ah we all go through it, at least i know i do at lest 6-9 times a season so I'm ok and open to talk about it. Its not always awesome pow and perfect landings unfortunately but i wish it was. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!

Respect Stan. You're an elite athlete yet still humble and not a douche. Keep on rippin'. I love your videos and commentary.
Cheers, I looked up to JP and McConkey growing up and they made skiing look so fun and always had a smile on their face so I tried to be like them. That’s a huge compliment thank you!
That was an insane bail. So glad you are OK after that. You rip but take care!
Sick line !!!
Technical landing....
🤙🏽
So sick!!! Huge fan Stan. You absolutely sent that line
Wish I coulda put that run down but that’s what happens when you take chances. 😝
bro you are a monster, that last drop was insane. Makin BC proud.
Can’t say I didn’t try. 🤣
That was such a sick send! Love that you got to ride in a FWT event and went all out! Love all of your content,
Cheers!🤙🏽
Huge! So glad you went for it
Looking back on it I am too and no regret with the outcome. That’s what happens when you send it, sometimes the send bites back.😂
Absolute send!!! Vid's are sick, love what you're doing!
Glad you like them!
Good effort man , way to represent!
Cheers! I gave it my all and took a chance on that bottom air but unfortunately it didn’t pay off.
Great job Stan! If you had stuck that landing it would have been LEGENDARY! You walked away with a smile and great memories!
I sure did! No regrets!
"Doctors hate him for this one weird trick" - A few cold ones and getting loose on the dance floor... You're a legend Stan! Also has a TREE TAP that big ever been done in the FWT?
Ha that’s a good question. I might add that to my resume! Biggest tree tap in FWT history. Haha I might have to fact check that first though.
It happens to the best of us. 😝🤘🏽

What a guy
Man, I love this guy
👊🏼
you send it !! well done
I did but the send bit back. 🤪
The way you kicked off ski men was insane. Cheering for you all the way through Tommy #6! Go Stan!
😂 I could hear the crowd erupting on Tommy #3.😝
Happiest and nicest skier ive ever seen. You’re an awesome guy and an amazing skier, way to go Stan!
Thank you kindly
You skiied fast and furiously!! Great job!!! I love that go big or go home mentality. Yeah, snow condition this year.. it’s tough. Glad you are ok the day after. And, this is probably the best vlog of this year for me.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Watching you always provides for a good time, some "no way!?", some "oh shit!" and a whole lotta "yeah!" Love your style and your realness!
Cheers! I’m stoked you enjoy them! It funny cause I feel the same way while skiing. Haha
Stan "The Freeride World Tour Send It" man haha. Oh man that was a nice line right there but who the freak put some kind of ski cement in your landing zone, holy cow! That was unreal
Cheers!👊🏼

🤙
This vlog is so sick! I’m so happy I subbed before. I was always interested in FWT behind the scene type vid.
I wish I coulda done a bit better of a job but I got caught up with the experience so I missed a few things but I still got most of it in! Stoked you enjoyed it regardless!

Oh I grew up ski racing and I know that crash well. One of the worst DH crashes of all time. Mine was a walk in the park compared to that.
@@stanrey7 Your comments about stiffness of body parts after eating it are so relatable. I judge the severity of my crashes by the stiffness of my neck. The next day, 'Why is my neck so sore, oh right, now I remember!'
Absolute legend!!! Another sick vid on the channel!
Much appreciated, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Hell yeah buddy, way to go for it!
Rock on!🤘🏽😜
I almost put the kettle on after the Tommy but didn’t think it was worthy of it.😂
“Ready to send it… or you know what …. I’m not gonna say send it. I’m ready to put a good run down on my feet.” Love that about you hahaha was so cool to see you on the tour Stan the man
When in doubt send it!!! 😂
Dude dope video. Nice send as a buddy of yours from Whistler we always pushed each other on the soccer field and mountain biking!
We did indeed. There is always someone who’s better than you in this town and that will push you to be better and I think that’s why Whistler breeds so many world class athletes!
Absolute STANIMAL out there bud
😝
Just some random Aussie skier and FWT watcher here. Was absolutely wondering how you were. Good to see you're OK. Nice natural vlog too, well played
Cheers! 👊🏼

You where on a Podium run . Soooo close
That 360 you did so knarly didn't hook up on something .
German kid so killer
Ya Max is insanely good. Making all the landings look super low impact and easy somehow. The riders are unreal on the tour.
love the vlog style vids!! do you get any nerves at competitions? Or have all the years of skiing on camera prepared you
No I for sure still get nerves in competitions and while filming still. It’s always a little extra pressure though in a competition scenario due to the people watching but mainly the pressure to perform well on that one run.
