I’m crying so much, I started watching anime in 2010-11 and became a seasonal anime fan from around when Madoka came out, so this cover is making me realize how anime was the one partner I had during the entire decade. There was only 1 song I personally felt like was missing here, and it’s secret base from Anohana, but every other songs I felt like meant a lot in anime this decade is on this list
Secret Base was something I wanted to add but couldn't mainly due to the fact that it was an awkward moderate swing with a 6-sharp (or 6-flat) key signature.
This hit different. It's like reliving the past 10 years again... I can remember how excited I was to come home from school and watch a new episode of these shows, or how gangsta I felt watching shows like Tokyo ghoul even tho I was to young. But Noragami really hit me hard, it was the show that really got me into anime. I'm sitting here crying and remembering the fond memories I have of all these shows and how excited I was when they first came out

In all honesty, I’ve never watched AoT, but I definitely know it’s OP song from season one. I can hear the first few second and always know which it is. Many anime sons are like that, like Unravel, Crossing Field, the original Pokémon theme. Anime ha been around for a ton of years and has brought a ton of people together... and divided many others. Still, I enjoy it and have enjoyed it and will continue to. Also, I’m still waiting for No game No life S2.

2014 was a big year for anime. One of the first major boosts to keep the momentum made by SAO then sped up by Attack on Titan. Then things picked up from there. Honestly this decade I got into anime and this decade of anime will forever hold my love.

I love how among all the seasonal anime openings (Your Name is a movie so it doesn't count), Fukashigi no Carte is the only ending that was chosen instead of the opening of the same anime. Says a lot about how beautiful of a masterpiece it is.
The sword art online really got me. It was the one that got me into anime and I remember actually watching it years later because I saw some scenes previously thanks to my dad so I decided to watch it and got hooked. Man, that was fun to watch.

You ever get hit with so much nostalgia that it feels so damn heavy and you gotta start taking deeper breaths to calm yourself? Yeah, this is it. It's not just the anime itself that's nostalgic. Everything that I experienced in the past decade came rushing back at once and it's just so overwhelming, each anime that I've watched corresponding to an event in my life.
When this happens it starts to feel as if we're so old to have all these memories it's just so unrealistic, but it's so good to just have these rushes once in a while, I'm not a person who easily cries but remembering the times I cried, just by the song, an having multiple flashbacks with this is too much to handle

TIme really does fly, it's already 2020 and I remember watching each of these anime when they aired at the time. I started watching anime regularly around 2010 when I was 12 & started high school, now I'm nearing 22 in 2 months and about to graduate university and start working, time is such a finite concept.
The crazy thing is that I've barely seen many animes yet I recognized all of these songs besides the second. The nostalgia is so real and the quality was amazing
erotic unpopular opinion, but for me, your lie in April impacted me way more than clannad, maybe because I have a connection and past with music, or maybe I just liked the show better.
The saddest animes, for me, are the ones that give a gut punch when you were not expecting it. A lot of people tear up with Yui and her disappearance, but that never bothered me. I knew that it was going to go badly. That said, the core relationship between Kanade and Yuzuru was something I had faith in. I was sure that, somehow, those two were going to end up together, regardless of what happened to everyone else. . The revelation at the end that twisted the entire relationship between the two and then broke them up was beyond brutal, and the weight of everyone else also being gone were suddenly too much. It was just too. Damn. Much. Everyone was gone and only one man was left in that school. Alone. Then the ending credits song. Such a happy little picture where everyone started filling up the screen, except this time, it was everyone disappearing instead. Nastiest credit sequence I've ever experienced. . On another note, I ended up looking up the english translation of the ending credits for angel beats. It's not a happy song.
Zach Crawford But Angel Beats just weighs you down like an anvil. It hurts when the anime shows their old life in the overworld and they slowly get together and disappear.

In AngelBeats the ending was like snap of fingers. It was such a frustrating moment. No one saw that coming. Not me at least.
What is sadder is up to the person. Like I said, if I know a bad end is coming, then it's less sad to me. Still depressing, and I don't really enjoy long drawn out illnesses in stories but less sad. I did not expect the Angel Beats ending. I was extremely into that pairing, and then, BAM, total reversal. This is about as solid a reason as you can get to make me start crying. The others were tired of living in the school and were ready to move on, but those two had just finally broke down the walls that kept them apart, and they could have been happy in that world, together. Instead she is going to reincarnate instead, it is just a baffling decision to me. . I also had personal objections to the reincarnation. It was extremely clear in the story that your memories are entirely erased. Without memories, or your body, what even makes you... you anymore? Honestly, I wasn't even sure the reincarnation was even a thing. How did they figure out that is what happens? I would have thought it was a limbo area until you were ready for heaven, or something.

In all honesty, I’ve never watched AoT, but I definitely know it’s OP song from season one. I can hear the first few second and always know which it is. Many anime sons are like that, like Unravel, Crossing Field, the original Pokémon theme. Anime ha been around for a ton of years and has brought a ton of people together... and divided many others. Still, I enjoy it and have enjoyed it and will continue to.
Also, I’m still waiting for No game No life S2.

Angel beats gets everyone. My first anime.
I love how among all the seasonal anime openings (Your Name is a movie so it doesn't count), Fukashigi no Carte is the only ending that was chosen instead of the opening of the same anime. Says a lot about how beautiful of a masterpiece it is.
The sword art online really got me. It was the one that got me into anime and I remember actually watching it years later because I saw some scenes previously thanks to my dad so I decided to watch it and got hooked. Man, that was fun to watch.

Yeah, this is it. It's not just the anime itself that's nostalgic. Everything that I experienced in the past decade came rushing back at once and it's just so overwhelming, each anime that I've watched corresponding to an event in my life.
When this happens it starts to feel as if we're so old to have all these memories it's just so unrealistic, but it's so good to just have these rushes once in a while, I'm not a person who easily cries but remembering the times I cried, just by the song, an having multiple flashbacks with this is too much to handle
The nostalgia hit me so hard I almost gave myself a mini-workout. I was playing an air piano during the whole video and literally flexing my muscles as I physically slammed down the imaginary piano keys on the accented notes.

I was just hurt by angel beats and no game no life, when I watched those I wanted so many more seasons :(
The saddest animes, for me, are the ones that give a gut punch when you were not expecting it. A lot of people tear up with Yui and her disappearance, but that never bothered me. I knew that it was going to go badly. That said, the core relationship between Kanade and Yuzuru was something I had faith in. I was sure that, somehow, those two were going to end up together, regardless of what happened to everyone else.

The revelation at the end that twisted the entire relationship between the two and then broke them up was beyond brutal, and the weight of everyone else also being gone were suddenly too much. It was just too. Damn. Much. Everyone was gone and only one man was left in that school. Alone. Then the ending credits song. Such a happy little picture where everyone started filling up the screen, except this time, it was everyone disappearing instead. Nastiest credit sequence I've ever experienced.

On another note, I ended up looking up the english translation of the ending credits for angel beats. It's not a happy song.

@@zachcrawford2760 I saw both of those anime. Your lie in April was sad and depressing yes. But you could see slowly how Kaori is getting sick and all. The ending was clear but sad. In AngelBeats the ending was like snap of fingers. It was such a frustrating moment. No one saw that coming. Not me at least.
What is sadder is up to the person. Like I said, if I know a bad end is coming, then it's less sad to me. Still depressing, and I don't really enjoy long drawn out illnesses in stories but less sad. I did not expect the Angel Beats ending. I was extremely into that pairing, and then, BAM, total reversal. This is about as solid a reason as you can get to make me start crying. The others were tired of living in the school and were ready to move on, but those two had just finally broke down the walls that kept them apart, and they could have been happy in that world, together. Instead she is going to reincarnate instead, it is just a baffling decision to me.

I also had personal objections to the reincarnation. It was extremely clear in the story that your memories are entirely erased. Without memories, or your body, what even makes you... you anymore? Honestly, I wasn't even sure the reincarnation was even a thing. How did they figure out that is what happens? I would have thought it was a limbo area until you were ready for heaven, or something.
