I've been in love with this car since high school. It probably won't be my first car, but I most definitely will be renting one on my next trip out of state. Thank you for the information!
It's been about 10 years now since this model came out & it still looks modern both inside & out. Wish Ford would start selling passenger cars again in the U.S. The Fusion was still selling well even when it was discontinued a couple years ago. My uncle leased one years ago & he liked it a lot. My main flaw with this gen Fusion is that it never offered a six-cylinder engine option until the Sport model came out for 2017 which is what I would go for, but it was expensive & it's fuel economy isn't great.
just bought one last week and had it delivered yesterday.....THIS CAR IS BOSS...its so tricked out it does everything u want all u gotta do is peak to it and it will do what u ask it too. crazyy
We are very glad you enjoyed it! We believe the Fusion will suffice nicely especially if you are drawn to the styling of the Audi A7. It has similarly tech in Titanium trim for half the cost and you can even get AWD if you need it.
The dumbest thing you can do is work for a driving service like Uber and Lyft. You're going to get paid a very low wage, you'll wear out your vehicle faster than normal from daily long use, and you'll tank the value of your car very quickly because of the massive amount of miles you'll put through it.
We just added the 2013 Fusion SE (w/Sport Package) to our little family of cars. The engine may not be the most powerful, but that's because the car is so heavy. Its heft actually adds to the refinement of its ride. It's a very composed and steady ride, without the bounciness and nervous motions. The torque is adequate, though. It will get you up to speed fast enough. And we like that "Mustang" gurgle when accelerating. It has very little wind/road noise. And no NVH. Steering is A++.
To be honest, that's one of the reasons I like it. Big touch screens only make repair costs enormous if something were to ever go wrong. Plus all this fancy technology just makes for more distracted driving! (No I'm not old, I'm 29!) I still far prefer tactile buttons. The traditionalist in me prefers the old-school gauges, as well! To each their own, I guess, but I prefer this cheaper interior to the touch-sensitive center stack with MyFordTouch
You're so welcome. I'm glad I could help. The test drive was what REALLY did it for us. It drives like it's on rails, with extremely little lean in corners. It handles bumps with very little noise and impact. The Sport Package makes the difference. It rides like a German car. Unlike others, the low profile 18" wheels don't hurt the ride. I guarantee you will love it. Let me know if you get one. :)
I test drove both the new Accord and the Fusion and ended up buying a Fusion Titanium (2.0L turbo). Power was good in both. I actually preferred the ride quality and the interior of the Fusion over that of the Accord. I was not a big fan of the dual screens on the center stack on the Honda.
The braking system of the Fusion is not electronic, it's still a hydraulic system as it uses brake fluid like you mentioned... all the switch controls essentially is a pair of drums inside the disc brake that clamp whenever the parking brake is engaged. Ford has some fail safe's incase the battery ever goes dead.
I actually get behind the wheels of the new Ford Focus Sedan 1.6 EcoBoost here in Europe.. it is of course plenty of power for European customers but when we talk about North America it is not good at all.. straight 2-liters can come up with more pleasant and quiet drive..
Honestly, this video sold me on the car even more than I already liked it. I was curious as to if it had a line in jack, and where the placement was so thank you again for showing that. I'm a huge music buff so I NEED my iPod in the car when I drive, I have difficulty with my current car's line in placement being on the face of the console, the line often getting in the way of the shifter. I'm ecstatic about purchasing this car.
To me, I think putting a key in the ignition is better than push button start. I don't like the fact that there is no need to take the key fob out of your pocket. Push button start, in my opinion, should be an option in all vehicles you can currently get them in. That's me though.
I see your point, but I prefer the push button because it's a little classier, and you don't have to worry about a key stabbing your thigh through your pockets.
I get WHAT you are saying, just not sure why. "I don't like the fact that there's no need to take a key fob out of your pocket." Why? Obviously it's not the physical act of removing a fob from your pocket that's disappointing, Is it the mental assurance of the mechanical aspect that you think you'd miss? No getting in and then realizing my keys are in my front pocket, stabbing me, and I can't get to them without the big stretch. After a few runs, it's actually really cool!! (and I'm a long time mechanic and overall gearhead),
I just don't think that with push-button start, there would be no need of getting it out. I would rather have a key than just the key fob to start the car. And plus, I think push-button start could break easier than a key would.
OneworldOnelove36 In1986, I'd wholly agree with the reliability. In 2014, not so much. It has a key in it too, If the battery on the fob dies, insert it into the slot in the centre console and you can start the car. If the start button itself fails, it's only an electronic ignition switch, not exactly w headwrecker to troubleshoot. Man this is a beautiful mid size sedan! My personal favorite in the mid size class is currently the Hyundai Sonata. But I'm starting to favor this a little more!
We believe this vehicle is a top 3 in the class. $24,000 is a good budget, you could easily get an SE like this for that price. We would seriously recommend it but also check out the 2013 Accord as well. The Kia will probably be the cheapest but we don't like the driving dynamics of the vehicle. Test drive all 3 and decide.
Comparing the TSX to the Fusion can be tough. On one end, the Fusion offers more tech features, power, and fuel efficiency for roughly similar money. With the Acura name you get better service since it's a luxury car. However, the TSX does feel rather dated compared to a top trim titanium Fusion for example. We'd say test drive both and decide which one you like more. It's all up too you. Keep in mind the Fusion has a bigger back seat as well.
Everyone has their own taste, however a lot of people could argue Hyundai copied VW and Mercedes when it introduced the swoopy styling on the 2011 Sonata. We also did a review of the 2.0T Sonata and was not impressed with its driving dynamics. Give ford a change and test drive this vehicle first before making pre-judgments on it.
Hey thanks for the compliment! I appreciate the concern, however, if you notice I only took my hands off the wheel for a few seconds when I had my foot on the brake and was coasting to a stop. I wouldn't be doing that at higher speeds plus the vehicle has a very responsive and confident steering. It doesn't wander at all and makes you feel very comfortable.
To get heated seats you must move up to the 205A luxury package which this car had. Just leave the climate controls on before you exit the vehicle and it will come on whenever you remotely start it.
Just went from a 2011 Fusion Hybrid to a 2013 Fusion SE with the luxury package. Mine came with the My Ford Touch, leather, sunroof, and driving/parking aids (ie: blindspot mirrors and back up cam) Love the car. Really looking forward to driving it to South Dakota from Phoenix next month to visit friends.
@@pjonesg A part on the turbo was apparently bad when I got the car. Got it fixed. Ran like a dream until the water pump died on us not long ago. In the meantime I had to give it up, and get an SUV due to health issues. I do miss my Fusion though.
@@pjonesg it was only because of health issues. I hated to do it. Just couldn't get in & out of it being that low to the ground. It hurt my back. I have bulging discs. It was great on gas once the waste gate in the turbo was fixed. It could get up to 45mpg on the interstate with cruise on 70.
I'm laughing at all the people trying to look for a reason to hate the car. I'm a staunch import lover but I can admit Ford made a great car. Accept the fact the fact that Ford made a car better than some of the imports.
You have yourself quite a hard decision to make. While the Fusion will be more expensive at MSRP, you can option the vehicle up with leather, NAVI, larger wheels, tech features, and more color choices. With the Accord, you are limited to just two exterior colors (gray or silver) and no options, although the Accord is slightly better equipped but you cannot get NAV or leather/heated seats. We'd probably take the Fusion simply b/c the Accord looks a bit plain, the choice is yours though. Good Luck
First model year problems are the case for any manufacturer. Some people are willing to take the risk simply because they want to be the first to have the new model or they simply cannot wait and need a car now.
Your level of knowledge is impressive and the rate at which it is given is great! The one thing that I see more and more of is the time spent with both hands OFF the steering wheel?! Your might want to look into this, you may not even be aware of it...but this is a very bad habit to get into and one that may cause you some heartache down the road, especially since the vehicles that you are driving in these videos are not yours! Keep up the good work and I look forward to watching you again.
Give Ford credit where they deserve it, it seems like you just dislike them as a brand perhaps from a past negative experience? Keep an open mind, they have really turned their products around in the past few years.
Right, so with a sticker price in that range, after the rebates and discounts expect to pay roughly $22-23 grand as the sale price. Sure it's not a fully loaded model, but expect to pay roughly $27,000 for a $30,000 Titanium model. Sure it is more expensive than the Altima but in our eyes, it's a nicer looking car with more tech features. Besides, if everyone drives an Altima at work, don't you want to break from the crowd and drive something else ;)
I agree. The 2.0 is nice however, I have actually owned the 1.6 and I really think it has more, I think the correct word would be boost! Great car however, today we had a prety bad snow storm and I was pulled over for a car accident and I had my emergency lights on (I'm a firefighter) and boom a car hit my fusion. I think it's reparable just cosmetic damage.
I've been to several Ford dealerships, and they've all been pressure-free. Of course not every one will be. It can depend on the neighborhood. My thing about resale value is if you're buying a car for the long haul, it shouldn't make a difference. My neighbor has a 2000 Focus, and she's been very happy with it the past 13 years. My sis has a 2003 Focus, that she's rough on. It's still going strong. Dealers still try to rip you off at trade-in by offering far low return. Keep your car.
I was just trying to inform the editor of this channel. The current Mondeo in Europe which is what the Fusion is derived from also has the same styling elements and was released back in 2007, and the Evos further defined this in 2011.
ya man, FINALLY someone who gets it! im waiting for the Focus RS thats suppose to be comming out around 2015, if it looks like some of the sketches i've seen, and has the hp/tq thats been talked about, im on board! I've no clue what its "resell" value will be but i really couldn't care less as long as i enjoy it ill have it for years to come.
i think you should do a review of the 2010-2012 Fusion (Last gen) i really love the car. i also think it would be a good comparison video to point out the differences between the new one and the old one. i personally like the old one because of the the gauges
Ford has a winner on its hands. Good looking inside and out. Good choice of engines (reliability and how refined they stay over time is still to be determined though).
Yep. I can fully confirm this, I did a whole speech on the subject in highschool. It's both amazing and sad how few people know that and credit Ford for it. They invented mass production, which was great but that was decades after Benz's 1st cars. (and motorcycle for that matter)
You guys should definitely make a video on the 2013 Sonata GLS. My parents have it and it has become my daily driver. I'd love to hear your opinions on it Sofyan!
Our car has standard Sync. We don't have the MyTouch setup, which we don't like. We prefer the buttons, which are sure touch. The MyTouch reminds me of the smartphone screen that goes by sensory touch. I don't think it's worth it. Buttons are just fine with me. Also, the MyTouch has been known to be glitchy. The color we have is Bordeaux Red Metallic. It really caught our eye when they brought it out for out test. Interior is black w/red stitching in the seats, which are comfortable.
Excellent videos! I'm curious if you got a chance to drive the 1.6L on the freeway and if you noticed the turbos kicking in during freeway cruising. I didn't think to look when I test drove the 1.6L SE auto. I am replacing my 2003 5 spd MT Accord with either a 6spd MT Accord EX or a MT Fusion 1.6L SE. Fusion seems to drive quieter, smoother and just better, but the Accord has more features for the price and nicer interior and ergonomics. This decision is killing me - and my work productivity!
Its nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't like touch-screen controls and digital tach gauges, etc. Give me actual buttons and gauges :) (and I'm only 28!) Nice review.
the focus issue is with the transmission. This vehicle uses the same 6 speed in the previous fusion and not the dual clutch one from the focus. The engines in this car have been used in other ford products for a few years now as well.
Love the vehicle, but my biggest pet-peeve is the gas cap. It's amazing how we can invent this complex technology, but forget about the smallest things.
Oh okay so it's not the quick fill system, it's the absense of a locking centre cap. It is still a quick fill, but you can geta small lock cap that fits it too. I don't have an issue with thieves where I live (most people don't lock doors here either), it was just one of those things I did for the hell of it. Saw one, thought it looked cool, 'why not'.
For your needs I think a focus would probably suit you better. They are really nice cars there is no doubt about it! I drove a 2012 SEL before I got my ST and it had myford touch and winter package with sunroof, but an automatic and they said they could coem down to 17,500 on it, when the sticker was around 21,500. Which I really wish I would've done because I'm sure I would have been just as happy.
Indeed it does, I'm driving an SE 2.0l with the 'appearance' package which also delivers a rear spoiler (big whup there) and decent 18" 5 spoke wheels.
Hitting 200,000 miles on my 2013 Ford Fusion...still going strong!!!
Nice
"Unfortunately will have to stick the key in thee ignition" is it really that bad? Lol
I like the push button start only because it's awesome, other than that it's no big deal at all lol

very helpful video. audio & visual are clear and easy to understand.
I can definitely see the volvo elements in the cars interior and exterior design
ya man, FINALLY someone who gets it! im waiting for the Focus RS thats suppose to be comming out around 2015, if it looks like some of the sketches i've seen, and has the hp/tq thats been talked about, im on board!
Good choice of engines (reliability and how refined they stay over time is still to be determined though).
yes they do, it doesn't matter what product/conditioner you put on it, that has nothing to do with scratching
All I have to say is WOW. Ford is really building themselves down in terms of their cars.
Hard choice, until the 2013 Accord is driven, we cannot say yet!
Wow. I have to admit, although I have never been a fan of Ford, this actually looks great!
I just recently got my fusion and I love it
FINALLY U DO THIS CAR!!!!
1:08 Never would I thought in my life I would hear the words "Hyundai started that trend"...
I actually like the styling of the old Fusion better. This just looks like a mix of many other cars. But in general not bad at all.
I love this color, it just make this car a bit more LUXURY.
best looking sub 30k sedan I have seen in years! I would love to see you guys test out the 1.6 with the 6M sometime...Christmas is coming!
Yep. I can fully confirm this, I did a whole speech on the subject in highschool. It's both amazing and sad how few people know that and credit Ford for it. They invented mass production, which was great but that was decades after Benz's 1st cars. (and motorcycle for that matter)
Is $26,000 just the sticker price? Because after the rebates and discounts the sale price will roughly be in the low 20s.
Yes, it's about $1100 for the 2.0T
You guys should definitely make a video on the 2013 Sonata GLS. My parents have it and it has become my daily driver. I'd love to hear your opinions on it Sofyan!
the 2.0T Eco-boost is available for that buyer needing more speed
Our car has standard Sync. We don't have the MyTouch setup, which we don't like. We prefer the buttons, which are sure touch. The MyTouch reminds me of the smartphone screen that goes by sensory touch. I don't think it's worth it. Buttons are just fine with me. Also, the MyTouch has been known to be glitchy. The color we have is Bordeaux Red Metallic. It really caught our eye when they brought it out for out test. Interior is black w/red stitching in the seats, which are comfortable.
Make sure you actually get a first hand experience behind the wheel before coming to that conclusion
Great review, try to talk about the sound system , a lot of people want to hear about that
Excellent videos!
The parking brake does release automatically. After you put it into drive and your foot hits the accelerator it immediately releases
What gas cap? Mine has the "quick fill" but I've added a locking cap now.
***** That's what my comment was in reference to. My point was that the locking cap should've been standard.
They also have a 2.0L Turbo. I have driven one, really quick!
the 2.0t actually makes more power and way more torque. Ford underrated the engine like crazy. Dyno tests have shown it makes upwards of 270hp.
I am wanting to buy this car as my first car!!! It looks like itd suit me best!
I think it's a good looking car overall. With its size I would expect more interior room.
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
They need to make a wagon version of this.
Im a import fan, but damn ford hit a home run with the fusion its about time they used the Aston vibe
My first car !
How is it so far? I’m getting a car in two weeks
5:05 lol elbows?
For the ladies elbows ;)
lol
When you put it next to the old one, it looks pretty slick
