It also provides an intuitive way to brew slow falling (previously we had to use a glitched level of levitation which caused you to take increased fall damage and then shoot up into the air even if you were falling slower) and repair elytra which previously used leather. Plus a flying mob is cool. If you don’t like the Phantom… literally just sleep once every three days. The only people complaining are the ones that can’t make time to do that.
I am genuinely obsessed with the little Minecraft sign you have in your room with the established date for your survival world on it it's so cute! Edit: you can actually keep the wandering trader llamas if you tame them and put them onto a lead. you just get on them with empty hands the same way you do a horse until they like you

I personally love the wandering trader, even if I don't want to buy anything from him (even tho he can give you MANGROVE WOOD guys come on he's great early game), he's just fun to have around, and it makes your base just more interesting and less lonely, like your not the only wanderer in this strange world :) plus if you domino want his deals, fine. what did he do to you to make you want to dismember him ?

aww, this is sweet! i love the wandering trader even though i don't play challenge worlds. i understand why mcyters hate him but in a private world that i play to chill, i like the depth and the option to grab a few plants that aren't in my base's biome. even though he literally jumpscared me once by spawning about an inch from my face lol

Wandering trader is actually the solution to a lot of MC's problems I think. They really need to expand and add more to him and give him more trades at once to compensate. He makes it easier to get things without travelling.
Even in late game, I still anticipate his arrival. As I’m trying to get the blue axolotl, the wandering trader trades me some tropical fish + a free iron bucket so I wouldn’t need to find a lush cave or warm ocean and I like getting coral blocks when the warm ocean is a thousand something blocks away from my base. And even after the 1.20 update, the first thing he traded me was a cherry blossom sapling which helped me grow more without traveling super far away. I like him. He’s cool
Personally, when I think of The Wandering Trader ( a mob that I love above most for unique outfit and offers of items that I would otherwise spend half an hour travelling to collect) I think of him being a monk. The mask makes me think that he may be someone who has chosen silence. I call him Hœnir, I think he is the god of silence and mystery, which sums up Wandy T perfectly.

I for one like the wandering trader, even in my normal survival world he was the only way I was able to get dark oak, because I am not going looking for a dark oak forest just for wood! I recently started streaming a superflat world, and that is in no small part because of your videos and Wandy T. I used to only use it as a creative test world and killed Wandy and his llamas in survival for free xp and leather since the resources are easy enough to collect there, but now in just three streams I've got a dripstone lava farm and jungle and mangrove wood. I still kill him because he'll despawn anyway, but at least I now know he's useful. Plus his spawning can create interesting situations. Off-camera last night, I was building a platform at y=40 and saw two llamas on the edge with the leads broken. I feared Wandy T died from fall damage, but when I went down to the bottom I found he was still alive, AND HE HAD SAND. Legendary.
Honestly, I like the wandering trader, especially because I’m the type of player to not wander far from my base often, and I also like having every colour of sheep. The dyes that they offer have been helpful in completing my collection of sheep in the survival worlds I play
Honestly I love the wandering trader. It’s such a great concept for a mob. And I love the Arabian theme they have going on. I only wish they had more rare/difficult to obtain blocks because in normal survival a lot of his trades are useless.

i would argue alot of people love the wandering tader, he's like one of the only sources for alot of resources important for challenges, he's a steady income of leads, and the man is dripped out! like if i had to guess minecraft's most hated mob i'd likely say something like a baby zombie or something. Honestly I like the wandering trader even in non super flat worlds, as he’s made a lot of builds so much easier by providing materials like saplings, cacti, coral, moss, etc, and making it so I don’t have to travel nearly as much to make my builds. Only time when he’s annoying is when he breaks into my house. Kinda wish he had a lava trade though as I play on bedrock console Minecraft and can’t go to the nether or end due to no structures in superflat.

As a huge fan of yours (and a kind-hearted person irl), I’m always really hesitant to unalive Wandy T when he shows up. If he has something useful, that’s great. If not, I just leave him be and go back to whatever I was doing

You can non lethally get his leads by sticking him in a boat. It doesn’t stop him from despawning, but it unhooks both his llamas.

I usually use a datapack to make the wandering trader sell miniblocks. It's really fun to try to collect them all + its a good decoration.
For every like will mine 1 diomond in my survival world (i want to make a diamond beacon and i have 3 stacks diomond but i don't have motivation to mine more 😢)

Thing is: wandy T is VITAL for almost every challenge run (like superflat or skyblock) but during standard play, he just doesn’t provide anything practical (except maybe the ice, cacti and coral)

wandering trader is my favorite :D he is so cool and is living the dream, and importantly he shows you who would just kill things out of annoyance.. so you dont have to keep playing with them
