Throne of Blood’s utterly brilliant vision of Lady Macbeth is just so powerful. Her silence and stillness and expressionless face (in contrast to most western actresses her LM is not full of motion) makes her both a sort of Sphinx yet also a sort of psychic black hole from whose massive pull Macbeth/Washizu will not be able to escape.
No one wants to discuss on how this film improves many things from Macbeth, so much emphasis is put on the stellar language but the actual plot, while shocking and intense for the time, is so painfully generic now. The play lives and dies on the language, not the story. Kurosawa managed to make changes to the story that are far more interesting than the original. The final fight is just a generic sword clash with a decapitation, and while actually a decent plot twist, it's just funny that I technically could have killed Macbeth due to the "man bore from women" rule. The arrows scene is far more tense and nerve wracking, and the fact it is his own men betraying him ties it back to his own betrayal of his Lord.

Washizu may not get witches early on but he has a centipede
The centipede on the banner is a kamon or "family crest," (specifically the "oyakomukademaru") akin to the coat of arms in Western culture
What movie is 4:18 from?
It is from an adaptation of Macbeth for PBS/BBC with Patrick Stewart as Macbeth
ahh, I remember it! Thank-you. WWII/I themed Macbeth. Know anything like it? Heck anything Shakespeare in a different era. :s
The 2nd narrator has the worst NY accent
Do.uch.e. B.ag. (matt Damon Boston accent). Be nice
Absolutely no one wants to admit how poor of a movie this is … it only shows the ineptitude of people who will never understand mcbeath …
