Love Nathan, not only for his technique, but also his cool and unique style. For me he’s very beautiful. Shoma’s skating skill is amazing, he’s also a very beautiful skater 👍
I feel like since Nathan stopped competing, Shoma's 4F GOE's have increased, despite no improvements in technique. I hope Ilia starts doing the 4F regularly, so the judges are reminded what the jump's supposed to look like
I love Shoma, but the takeoff on his flip really is far from textbook. Nathan does nothing for me artistically, but I love his correct jumping technique.
Nathan's toe taps on his flips look so freakin' smooth and fluid. It's like, his toe barely grazes the ice, and it even looks...gentle?!? Seems like he just effortlessly lifts himself up into the air without much assistance from his toe. Wow, amazing technique. Even in slow-motion, you hardly notice the actual picking of the toe. His flips look so clean and pretty. Shoma's, on the other hand...yikes, hate to say it, but that mule kick/hammer toe isn't very aesthetic at all. We won't even get into the issues of the blade or pre-rotations. No wonder some of his jumps look so strange to me.
Shoma gets overscored on his 4F (4L?) he let's his leg just swing on the entry and puts his entire blade down for the jump (don't forget his pre-rotation) and he has a shaky landing with a deep edge to save it. That doesn't deserve +4s
shoma doesn't even pretend to pick that jump... I find Chen's build up stiff and tedious but there is no comparison in terms of the quality of the jump itself.
I know that Shoma’s quad flip is not consistent like in textbook but his whole program is enjoy to watch. With Nathan some of his program are nice but many times i just skipped to watch his jumps only
@@divinearia1601 Nathan is a boring jumper. Shoma is an artist. Let's not compare them please. They are on completely different levels in terms of artistry
@@divinearia1601 The judges give the most of technical points for jumps. Nathan is a good jumper which does make him a bit more intertaining. But overall he is boring as f***. His skating skills are bad, posture is bad and spins are horrifying. Jason Brown is artistically much more interesting even though he's got problems with quads.
@@Eagle90able...thanks for your opinion, but, again, the judges and I disagree with you. Nathan gets great marks for his entertaining performances and smooth, fluid, clean, and versatile skating skills. Technical marks aren't only for jumps. They are given for every element: step sequence, dance sequence, spins, etc, etc. Nathan is a master at his technicalities. Also, his posture is very relaxed, natural, and beautiful. Jason has the weirdest protruding chest and butt when he skates. Not my cup of tea. Maybe you just prefer more feminine skating while I enjoy a more edgy, masculine style. Oh well. Your loss that you can't enjoy one of the greatest figure skaters in the world.
Shoma Uno's flip is a floop. Full blade assist on the takeoff and major pre-rotation; doesn't leave the ice till 1/2 way around. Bad technique and even worse scoring by the judges. +4 GOE is ridiculous
The rise of likes of Uno and Kaori with their hideous jumps is why I don't even watch competitions anymore. I miss jumpers with actual great techniques like Chen, Hanyu, Yuna, Liza etc. If these skaters are gonna do nothing but jump in their FS at least do it properly. Shoma and Kaori winning the world's consecutively with their terrible Floops and Flutz is just insulting to this sport.
The reason that so many people stan for Uno is because he's Hanyu's son lol. Bad technique, bad artistry, rob Hanyu's crush a Olympics silver medal :)))
Nathan jumps a quad flip. Shoma jumps a prerotated floop. I'm all for difficult entries, but not at the expense of the qualifications for the jump itself.
Who would you like to see next?
More of Nathan Chen if possible 🙂
Kolyada and Nathan their new FS.
Yuma Kagiyama please
I’d like to see the difference between some negative GOEs. Why does one fall get a -2 and someone else’s gets a -5? Love the channel btw.
Trusova and Chen
Flip vs Floop

Nathan: textbook flip
Shoma: pre-rotation + full blade = floop
Shoma's flip is yiiikes but I love watching him skate because he's so expressive and emotional
Shoma's flip is absolutely legal.
I love Shoma, but the takeoff on his flip really is far from textbook. Nathan does nothing for me artistically, but I love his correct jumping technique.
Shoma's 4flip looks so weird even weirder than Anna's 4lutz
Shoma's technique is not that great but I actually like his exit out of the toe combination a lot more.

Honestly if I was on the judging panel I would give Shoma the base value of a quad loop and a poor grade of execution
The funny thing is he's lost his real quad loop and maybe this is the way he holds on to - the fake loop :))
shoma doesn't even pretend to pick that jump... I find Chen's build up stiff and tedious but there is no comparison in terms of the quality of the jump itself.
These aren't even great 4F's from nathan by his standards. GPF 2019, WTT 2021 SP and worlds 2021 had amazing 4F's
This is an insult to Chen.
YOU MEANT TO SAY SHOMA RIGHT?
@@wiseman3750 No. Chen's technique is flawless. Even comparing him to Uno's horrid technique is insulting.
@@rttrrttrrttr Especially Shomas takeoff. Sometimes he even does a floop
Shoma is amazing ❤️
Shoma has got amazing skating skills. His jumps are beautiful to watch. He is musical. He is interesting to watch. Nathan is a good jumper.
No, Nathan is a prodigy, the greatest jumper in history, with incredible skating skills, artistry is subjective based completely in personal taste.
@@thangvuong9196 That's what I'm talking about. He is good at jumping.
@thangvuong9196 that's basically another way of saying he's a good jumper 😂
Guess which one is a textbook flip, you have.... literally 1s because it's so obvious.
Shoma Uno 👍👏💖❤️💖
Me encanta Shoma! Todos sus movimientos son tan prolijos!
Shouma's jump is floop, but I like it because it is sharp.
I know that Shoma’s quad flip is not consistent like in textbook but his whole program is enjoy to watch. With Nathan some of his program are nice but many times i just skipped to watch his jumps only
I watch all of Nathan's and hardly any of Shoma's, personally. Each to his or her own.
