Hi Jason thank you for the video it seems pretty straight forward. I tried accessing my camera remotely but can but can through the IP/domain Only issue I'm having is that mine is not a true Hikvision dvr. I have a similar screen as yours but I do not have a QR code I can scan fr. The configuration menu when I have my monitor connected to the dvr
Thanks, you know what it's our problem I lost my access from my phone after changing my internet provider now it's solved after this video.awesome, you deserve 2 thumps up for sure
Hi Jason, I followed all these steps on this video and it was to the tee 👍 However the issue I’m having is regularly getting that I’m offline or that the streaming times out. IVMS 4500 never had issues and seemed much more stable. Any way you can assist Thx
Hello Jason. Is this a free service the hik-connect or a payment plan. I can't seem to find an explanation about it besides how to enable p2p and install. Thank you.
@@JasonTech thanks Jason. That was very quick reply and much appreciated. Great videos my friend. If I have any other questions I may get stuck with I shall ask you if that is okay. Have a great day!!!
I get a lot of questions, I try too get back to ever one as fast as I can. Yes if you ever have a question or if you want me to make a video on something, just let me know.
Hello Jason, hope you can help me here. My installer hasn't reached back to me sadly. I use the Ivms4500 app to view my cameras. All of a sudden 6 of the 8 cameras don't have video. Do you have any ideas why this may be?? Wires seem to be fine and I've rebooted system with no luck. Thank you kindly!
Question. What type of cameras do you have, do you know if they are IP cameras? If they are, check the back of the recorder and see if the lights are on. If they are not IP cameras, you should have a power supply for the cameras. Try rebooting the power supply.
@@JasonTech They do appear to be IP cameras. The back of the recorder doesn't have lights it appears, but when I look from the side there are red lights emitting from the recorder. Not sure if that helpful. Apologize for my lack of computer knowledge. Thanks!
If you have IP cameras, the connector should look like a over size phone wire. Remove it if the back of the recorder, wait a bit then reconnect it. If you can, can you take a picture of the back of the recorder and email it to me. info@jasonschannel.com
Hi Jason, my IVMS-4500 app has stopped working since Feb 2022. I have called an installer many times but he keeps postponing or not replying. After watching your video, I hope I can follow your instructions and fix it myself. I think I need a monitor to connect to a recorder before I can change the setting from a recorder. Am I correct Jason? Thank you!
Hi June. Yes, it will be easier with a monitor. If you have a computer monitor, use it just for this setup. Then check to see if you have the P2P or Access Platform option. If you do, then follow my steps. If you have any other question, just let me know.
Good morning, Jason! I tried to connect a recorder to a Sharp monitor by using both HDMI cable and VGA cable. First, connected via HDMI and the bottom of a monitor just flashing without any words and turned blank. Second, connected via VGA then a screen showed "Embedded NVR, loading please wait" then it turned blank. So, I couldn't make any progress because I cannot see the setting on a monitor. Do you have any ideas of what the issue is Jason? Thank you
It sound like your recorder keeps rebooting. Try turning off the recorder, connect the HDMI or VGA (But not both at the same time) and see if it comes on. Please keep in mind, it does take a couple of minutes to loaded up. If it doesn't load, then you have an issue with your recorder. And that could also be why the app stopped working.
@@JasonTech Thank you Jason for a quick response and many thanks for taking your time to answer my questions. I will try it again tomorrow to see if it comes on. In case it doesn't, would a different DVR's brand still work with existing cameras or I have to replace a whole system?
Hi. You have to type your camera systems IP address into your web browser, but it doesn't work on all browser. If your recorder has the old firmware, it will only work on internet explorer. Your other option is to download and install the IVMS-4200 software onto your computer. ca.hikvision.com/en/products/software/ivms-4200-series/free-client-software-hikvision-devices-ivms-4200-macos Here's a video on how to set it up on a computer. ua-cam.com/video/65E_t1b2ZtA/v-deo.html
Hello Jason, I changed my internet provided, but now I can't access my cameras remotely when away from home. I was able to change and update the IP for when I am on the network and that works fine. Please, what settings do I need to update to enable me use IVMS-4500 when I am away from my local network. Canada doesn't have Hik-onnect server app for end user in the Google store app for download so I am stuck with IVMS-4500.
If you have a 32 channel recorder and you have 32 cameras connected to it. Once you add the recorder to Hik-connect. On the app, tap on the picture of the recorder. You will get 16 cameras popping up, when you have the first 16 cameras show. You should be able to swipe to the left to see the other cameras.
I’m lost…. What problem do you guys all have with the IVMS-4500? I’m still using it every day without any problem. Why should I connect to hik-connect server when I only want to connect to my home? I don’t understand the need to rely on others to connect home. Ha… may be because you guys used the ddns… I connect direct to home. For me, nothing changed as of February. Should I expect loosing my connection? For sure I want to keep access to home without any outside intervention.
Hi. If you are still using the IVMS-4500, you're probably using a 3rd party DNS not the Hikvision one. That's why you didn't get infected by the change.
You are trying to unbind your recorder? Hit Unbind and it was ask you for a password. Enter your recorders password. You can also use the SADP Tool. www.hikvision.com/en/support/tools/hitools/clea8b3e4ea7da90a9/

Try changing the DNS on the recorder to
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
