I really like Lloyd but he looked a bit out of his depth last night. Burnley would be a huge challenge and a lot of pressure. But if Frey is out for Saturday we don't have a wealth of choices!
The goal was beyond shocking. I hope that was just incompetence rather than betting related. I don't think I've seen anything as bad as that. Dembele - a no look pass/clearance up the field - having seen the team flapping about for the previous minute! What kind of moron wouldn't bang the ball into the stands? I don't want to say it but I'm worrying that Marti might be losing the dressing room. 😢 Thanks for the report - illuminating as usual.
very very accurate review really great stuff tbh, hope you remember my comments about zan celar last week? he is imo utterly woeful...how can we sign a player this bad, he literally offers nothing, its like he is home sick or basically does not care, he dont tackle barely runs bottles out of headers...its so frustrating when you pay good money and travel weekly to be served up tripe, how on earth can a striker be this bad, and ive noticed not one team mate or staff say anything to him??? surely they can see what the fans can see, imo if we had a decent striker last night we would of won
Dykes is a virtual armchair player with Brum. We might get him back if Brum offload him when they return to Championship.......Your dream could come true 🤣🤣
@@charleswilliams4059 Not that he’ll have much to do with it. Only played 210 minutes so far which doesn’t suggest they’ll be using him much next season either.
I agree with just about everything you said. Celar looked like a little boy lost up front. He does not seem to have a clue of where to be and what to do. A below par performance once again. I dread the next few games. As a team we are just not good enough for the Championship. Very Sad and Frustrating. Enjoyed your post mate.
Great review. It’s super frustrating watching Celars lack of movement (i.e he never offers the ball to his feet when midfield have it) it’s almost like he’s been signed by our rivals to sabotage our season. That being said, he isn’t the only player to disappoint so far and they all look like they need confidence. Also, regarding the subs, is it me or do we already plan to sub players at certain points before the game, it all stinks of stats over in game mgmt. Keeping smythe on was the obvious call and prob dembele but it seems like they are listening to the fitness team and managing mins. Ps: when we finally press teams, it works. Why aren’t we doing that from the off?! Moan over.
It shows how much we are missing Armstrong & Willock............and even Dykes who rarely gets a full game with Birmingham !!!....We are virtually watching QPR as a Div1 .side...
Yet again this was another performance that was more worrying than anything else. Pinning our hopes on an 18 year old to bail us out is alarming and it's not practicable or sustainable in the long run. Really good build up and a fantastic finish from the kid but apart from that we didn't look like scoring in a month of Sundays. Celar absolutely enraged me, I didn't see him jump for a single header which for a striker is unacceptable, his control was terrible and aside from that he was offside...thats it! He doesn't seem to scare defenders and just ends up completely anonymous. Saito was brilliant tho. Really impressive defensively and caused allot of problems in attack too. Really difficult games coming up now, maybe we do a QPR and get wins when nobody expects us to 😂
Yeah You say It directly as it is.We are now a lightweight squad without Willock & Armstrong. Even Dykes would have been useful. Without these guys the team is weaker than last year and that can only mean one thing...I hope I'm wrong ..
Smyth is L1 level, Usain Bolt would have struggled to meet those crosses. I don’t blame any forward for not chancing a near post run, as he rarely gets that cross in. The Cov goal came from Smyth failing to foul and stop a counter
@@HoopsaUA-cam I've always like 4-3-3 as that's how Liverpool set up in the eighties. I worry with the amount of goals we have in us as a team. We need goals from other areas of the pitch. How many crosses have zipped between the goalkeeper and six-yard area and there is no one there. Amazes me lol
Sorry - but we were not good enough! Coventry should have won 3-1 at least! Celar is hopeless and we need to ship him out! Dembele (again) was invisible and our defence looked awful. Only highlights were Morgan and Saito. Burnley will thrash us. League 1 here we come
It’s frustrating because four goal involvements from 10 games is a decent return, but we looked a lot more balanced when he was subbed off the other day. He’s got work to do off the ball.
I thought it was a little bit encouraging. After we scored, suddenly there was a belief of playing with more intensity but severely lacking in confidence and quality. A win was a stretch too far in what was a must win match.
Farcical defending for their goal, 11 year-olds would have been embarrassed. Not very hopeful for the next set of games, can only hope Marti can inspire them.
Positives - Saito's performance and Field turned up at last. Negatives - Chair and Dembele were way off the pace, Celar was non-existent, Coventry were given too much time and space and most importantly of all - the defence was constantly stretched and dithery. I'm sorry, my Burnley prediction - 0-4.
I'm the first to criticise Smyth's delivery but he put some great balls onto the penalty spot last night. Celar was so flat footed and always over or under ran. As an aside, we don't get many players into the box generally for some reason.
Those Smyth crosses were absolutely what a good winger does, hitting the space between the goalkeeper and defense is the perfect spot. The fact that Celar was clueless about getting there does not diminish the excellent work by Smyth.
You've been a little harsh, we are all a bit frustrated but need to understand where we are as a very young and new squad. Even on our goal Smyth looked up and crossed to Morgan who called for it, thats not fairly reflected in the goal description. Smyth has played well from most starts and all sub appearances. I dont want to be excessively harsh as you are normally vey balanced, dont let the frustration come through so much.
after 11 games and a pre season for pro footballers?? i dont think harsh at all they are underperforming and very slow in there play with an awful striker up top last night...how long should we give ?? all season ok for you??
Thanks for your comment. I always just try to give my honest opinion and this is how I felt about this match. We're better than this and we should demand performances better than this. Totally understand it's a young and new squad and I've said in most videos that it will take time for these players to gel. I can accept a lack of cohesion, but I won't accept a lack of effort, which is what we've shown at times over the last few games. By the way, I wasn't criticising Smyth's ball for the goal, I was criticising Celar's run ahead of it (again). I didn't see Morgan stick his arm up when in my person but you can see he does in the highlights, so hats off to him for demanding the ball and showing the rest how it's done. Thanks for watching mate.

we will get relegated this year. The last 3 years we have flirted with the bottom three, this time, we are even worse. What has happened to Kolli? Why is he in Marti's doghouse, especially given Celar is playing like he has no idea what to do or how to do it?
No one actually knows but the rumours suggest the club has struggled to agree a new contract with him, so they won’t play him unless he signs.
