Fantastic voice!
She is about to be inducted into the RI Music Hall of Fame.
Excellent version of a track recorded by Betty Harris around 1966
From the album 'Phew!' -- re-released in September 2013.
Soulful and lovely by a gentle beautiful woman! Good musicians around her! I believe there´s a lot of intuition and improvisation going on in there..digging into the groove!
Wow, this sounds incredible.
that look...that voice...that ROCKin' sound... man, she should've crossed over and easily been amongst the likes of Tina, Chaka, etc... wtf happened..??
For me, She was a like mixed version between Tina Turner and Diana Ross. I can't understand why that she didn't go big in that generation. WHAT A TREMENDOUS WASTE OF TALENT!
Kurtis I read on a interview, she said the 80s came, she had a kid and the trend was rap and hip-hop, she had no room to do her magic.... My personal opinion now, is that Tina Turner happened, I know something happened between them during her time with Ike, and that must've marked her career
@@ClaudiaCossa yes, but this song came out in the early 70's. maybe by the 80's she had moved on. The question is: why the heck didn't she make it big when she was recording? not ten years after she had stopped.
