This is all set up. Every season you can pick out the ringers they bring in- usually someone semi-famous that Simon pretends to have never heard of before. And many of these song-change scenarios you can tell they were warned about ahead of time.

Ever since Simon's mom died, he became different. More calm, cool, collected, and thoughtful. It's like he decided he wanted to give everyone the energy his mom gave him. (You know he had to be a hard man to raise.)
That could be true, the REALITY is that he was causing the shows to have less viewership.
That guy to whom Simon handled another Italian song was great. And the fact that the lyrics literally had some lines about a guy singing a song he didn’t know was pure gold.

Exactly! They may be excellent singers, but they will not show this, singing the wrong song or bringing a backing not working for them. Simon has a perfect ear for talent, and how to make people show this talent.

I would say that the only person who proved Simon wrong was the young man who sang "Tomorrow" from Annie. All the others proved him right by singing the second song better than the first.
1st little girl has a lovely voice. Love the tiny lisp! She actually gave me goosebumps at the end!
The third one, the little boy, Simon ABSOLUTELY had it right. The first notes out of his mouth with the second song were INCREDIBLE!

If you don't understand why Simon do stop some singers to another, now you may understand.
A few times Simon is prejudiced against certain songs like "Tomorrow", but he is willing to admit when he was wrong, and that is nice.

As a retired musician I've known many producers over the years, and despite their often utter lack of knowledge about music, the good ones really do have an ear for picking out talent that will sell. The downside is that they often get it just as wrong, as in the case of Olena, when the judges, including Simon Cowell, made a bunch of stupid, ignorant remarks. Since Olena's run on Britain's Got Talent, she has done very well, thank you very much, and her star continues to rise. The Achilles' Heel of any producer is his individual taste, which serves to create a glaring blind-spot. Producers are like doctors- always get a second opinion. It's not that one producer is any better than another- it's that you and your producer must connect, or else you'll end up with a toxic, unproductive relationship.
Greg THANK-YOU I, too am a retired vocalist, and musician. The audition process is VERY subjective! I love viewing all of the individual gifts being shared. Auditions usually require at least two numbers,the ability to sight-read and perform, and more.
Vocalists may well need a second song to get into their most relaxed mode, all of the hours waiting around for their change to vocalize and perform. I was always willing to allow someone to do another song for an audition.
Your comment regarding producers and directors it can be spot-on. One producer we had for a show was so obnoxious, profane, and sexist that I refused to work with him anymore. In fact, I literally told him right to his face, what I felt, and I walked out. I had been ASKED to be in this production, I had not auditioned because I had a VERY young baby and was not working at the time. He cleaned up his act at least around me. I found that I had much happier performers because I behaved respectfully to my cast. My mother always said, " I just do not believe in beating up on people to get the results you need, it is better to practice true communication.

I just watched a young lad sing when Simon stopped him and asked him to sing a different one. Simon always gets it right, so they should listen to his advice. Well done Simon you were right once more.

The only one Simon actually got it wrong with was Jimmy. Jimmy said "I don't have another song" and basically told Simon "this is what I'm coming with, and your gonna love it!" Simon ate his words with Jimmy.

He may be a talented singer, but it doesn’t matter if the judges can’t connect with the song. I agree that the song wasn’t the right choice.
Nobody talking about Jimmie Herrod, most of these yes they were Simon seeing true talent, but that one clip really proved him wrong.

The first young lady is so charming. Confident, and being stopped doesn't phase her too much. She has the cast-iron constitution needed for show business. Needs to work on the flutter in her voice, but amazing breath control and intonation for one so young, and great diction.

Your video title should be called "When Simon Helped Singers to Show Their Talent". These contestants had chosen songs (in most of these cases) that were bellow their voices, and Simon knew it. His pleasure seeing these stars shining and showing their real potential is obviously on his face. The "unknown song" is called Passera by Aleandro Baldi.
Yeah Simon has been right on heaps of occasions with asking for another song, & he has said himself, just listen to that crowd. Well look & listen to them, a standing O!!

They didn't prove him wrong. They proved him right. he suggested that they adjust their song choices which ultimately improved their performances.

This title is all wrong. Simon clearly knows what he is doing. Admittedly... he could use a little more grace when speaking to literal children... but he clearly knows talent, and knows how to uncover it.
He has improved tremendously with how he relates to everyone especially kids since he became a father.
Simon is really the best judge.
