STEAM RUN FROM ARKLOW TO WEXFORD, IRELAND

I have always loved the old steam engines, I suppose its because I'm young enough to remember when they were thrashing at all the farms around our home in Tincurry when we were children.
We would stay up at night and go down to the gate to watch them go by .What a sight, sparks being blown high in the air 9 they burned wood sometimes because coal was scarce , the firebox glowing , the smell of steam, and the great flywheel spinning. This fiery monster was magic for us children , who would have seen nothing more than a horse and cart pass our gate . But sixty years later the magic is still there ,because in May 2001 as the old heroes trundled through the towns and villages , the people came out to watch, something that the all powerful diesel tractor will never achieve .
I put together a clip (10mns) from a video I made at the time, I hope you will enjoy. I don't think we will ever see the likes again , well not on the main roads anyway .
