On December 31 the final pike march of 1998 in Co. Wexford was held . From the historic Duffry Gate to the top of Vinegar Hill, where on the stroke of mid night , with the singing of Boolavogue by the assembled Pike Men and Women, the curtain came down on the 200th. anniversary of 1798.

Mary Gethings recently posted an excellent account of all the many and varied places of historic interest in Ferns. in that post she mentioned the iron age find. I was lucky enough to be on the site with my camera that day they discovered the 2000 year old nails, I would like to share a few clips(5mns) hope you find them interesting.

I have just purchased a part built Jessie which is Bridget's 0.4.0 Sister slightly smaller but with a saddle tank. The Ken Swan design must be one of the best backed up by some of the best drawings available. I am so looking forward to adding her to my collection of builds. I have many other locomotives waiting problem solving. David and Lily.
As a young girl who left Fearns at 4 years old to live in the UK and used to come back during the summer holidays to visit my family which I still have in Fearns that Mogues well scared the life out of me
