    Thank you so much for uploading a podcast that explains the housing supply report in a clear, concise, and accessible manner!
    That said, I think it's misleading to claim that issues with housing supply only began two decades ago. Canada has been underbuilding since at least the 1980s - a decade marked by high interest rates, high inflation, and a construction bust following the construction boom of the 60s and 70s.

    The gov can throw as much money they want to but in Toronto at least there are not many large construction companies that build apt buildings or subdivisions so more money only raise costs not build faster. Plus 1 million people entered Canada in a year I would guess that a third to half end up in Toronto causing wages to drop and rental and housing to rise ugh. Can someone tell me why a population decrease is so bad besides the capitalist need for growth and increase profits? I see a shrinking population opens up more affordable housing with rentals competing for tenants with businesses giving higher wages to retain employees making starting a family more affordable sooner then 30. Tell me I'm wrong.
