PSA Koenig highly recommends not installing skiff or any other aftermarket bearings. Possible blade play creation and if any over crossing bearing tracks… No warranty. Those washers are press fit into the scales. If they get damaged you have to replace the whole scale(s) at your own cost.
I hear you and very true when folks do not know how to install and replace caged bearings or take a knife apart and clean it. The issue is that it may void it if it causes damage as they see it at their discretion, so I believe I am good. If anyone has questions, then don’t do it and leave the original Delring caged bearings in. I would never overtighten any pivot on a high end to mid-tech knife. Had skiffs in mine til I noticed a small piece of the bearing broke off so I went back to the factory bearings which I honestly prefer in the arius cause they fit better the skiffs had wiggle room
@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives So what is it that's going on there... are the bearings running directly on the titanium scales? I've tried to look at this detail on a bunch of Arius disassembly videos, and everybody seems to make no mention of this aspect of the pivot assembly. 🤔
@davec3651 I did not go into detail, but the Ti scales are polished where they contact the caged bearings. I don’t think this a steel washer, but I could be wrong. Just do not over-tighten the pivot.
I was wondering who is Koenig and why are some people hyped about this knife. Once I found out the company has only been producing knives for 6 years, that answered my question. Happy for you, but in my opinion, the knife design is super lackluster. A company regardless if it is US or not, needs more experience producing knives to compete against the established brands like Hinderer, Chris Reeves, and Medford to name a few. I don't believe anyone is missing anything on this. There are simply a ton of better options available.
In my opinion cause everyone is entitled to their own opinions I just hope you respect mine. My take is for the short amount of time Koenig took to perfect his craft and tolerance of his knifes was way less than it took those other brands especially hinderer. Hinderer use to have terrible action and terrible detent. But with that said Koenig took less time to perfect due to having at the time when he started producing knives better technology than hinderer and Chris reeve and the others u mention at the time they started. So that’s my take and personally koenig is far better than hinderer due to the fact Koenig uses ceramic ball bearings and detent while others use stainless steel which from my experience can be gritty. Again my take and honestly he does deserve to be up there with the best and the design ain’t for everyone but don’t gotta bash the design and the fact he only been making knives for only 6 years which is still a long time. Love my arius more than anything and honestly is a really solid knife
So I like them all. I respect their design and some I like but some I do not. We will absolutely not agree on this and we can agree to disagree respectfully. CRK is cool but their design is boring with the exception of the Tanto Umnumzaan, which I owned. It is CRK’s best design but they fail on ergonomics. I own only 1 Hinderer right (non-flipper XM-18) which i love. Koenig when I have an up and close detailed observation, the details. It comes down to what you like and what you will be willing to pay. I will not likely buy any Medford knife ever because it is an overall ugly aesthetic to me right now. That may change.

That sounds like a good choice for your knife. Mine was an excellent fit for Skiffs that made it better.
So is it that the steel washers in the scales are stuck in there and aren't readily removable? I wonder why?
I don’t recall any issues with any washers. 🤔🧐😏
