I owe you a lot. I started taking my daughters to skate parks because I was tired of seeing them on iPads and phones every weekend. I never thought about skating myself, but it started to grow on me and became my weekly escape. Just watching them fall and get back up for hours on end without complaining, all while having fun, is an incredible activity beyond just the sport itself. I started watching your videos to see what aggressive skates I should buy for them, and you ended up motivating me to start skating myself. It's been a month now and I think my progress has been good. With the stress of the last few months, this activity has really helped me a lot. I'll visit your store at the first opportunity. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
wow amazing owlywoods! good job on the progress. keep enjoying yourself and see you soon!
Dude thanks a lot! I started 3 weeks ago and im so happy with that, so intrested. Your shop is awsm,❤Hello from Republic of Moldova!
good to hear! good luck practicing
I really appreciate that you tell about STOPPING techniques and BRAKING techniques (all videos I've seen do not talk about actually stopping, as in precision stopping). I can brake but I'm always anxious when I need to be precise about it, for instance when having to cross a road or something. Now I know what to practice :)
Also, the name "peanut butter" made me laugh, gonna use it a lot!
Glad it was helpful!
really good upload. Thanks for taking the time to give everyone useful tips!
My pleasure!
Thank you. Such good instruction. It’s like you really care about us. 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for yet another highly useful and great video!
My pleasure!
Perfect video about breaking! Thank you so much ❤
You're so welcome!
Thanks a lot! Very helpful breakdown.
As a beginner it's extremely appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
After decades long distance skating only (marathons mainly), started inline skating too this year for manoeuvrability and because I struggle a bit with strong breaking. So a very welcome tutorial, thnxs Ivo!
You can do it!
Great videos! I already improved a lot, thanks to your tutorials. Thank you very much!
Glad you like them!
I've been watching your videos for quite a while now, for the past year I've been practicing inline skating and all the different techniques and i getting better with each insight. But now back to your videos and your educational way of learning that makes me shine now as I try to get my kids to progress in their inline journey.
Tack så mycket och fortsätt med det goda du gör!
Thanks!
I and the family are planning a weekend in Amsterdam within the next year, with a trip to your shop with a couple of new inline skates booked so we'll see each other so we can thank you in person.
enjoying the videos...keep them coming!
Thanks, will do!
Loving this video! Skating on sidewalks around pedestrians and traffic you have to use different stopping techniques since all scenarios are different. I learned the PB stop from your other video and I apply it very often! Specially coming up to stop walk signs in order to press the button.👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice as usual folks, you all look very happy. Good vibes. It was nice trying my new Crossfire in that park. :)
Rock on!
nice, another good one from the best
Glad you like it!
Thank you for that video, that what I need right now. I’m pretty ok on rollerblades(learning one year maybe), I can ride trough the city whatever surface is, I can brake, but I can’t extreme stop yet
Your video is really cool dude, I'll show it the newbies and even intermediate skaters. Clear explanations and showing techinques^^
Thanks! And if you want to dive deeper in to these techniques then we have a dedicated video of each of them
@@Thisissoul I'll go check on theese, for myself I am working on new sliding techniques mixing up compas to soul/acid, toe acid etc. Been watching your videos for a time and it is always goid for learning. Can't wait to get wizard setup in a few months
The penguin break is what I have been needing! I had so much trouble stopping I felt like I was never going to find a way to break and stop. It's perfect for a beginner ^.^
Next up will be the plow stop :D
great video!
thanks pim!
Lekker, man! Next time I'll be in Amsterdam, I'll come visit! :D
see you then!
Awesome thanks! I've developed quite some control in terms of fine motorics (not sure if steenkolen-Engels 🤐), but my skating style rather evolved that way rather than during more dedicated training sessions. And even though I like to be as focused as possible (love that "flow" feeling!) I feel like I'm somewhat "stuck" now, with only more general things improving (speed / accuracy / fine muscle movements etc.).For example, I can do T-stops quite naturally and controlled, but apart from that only able to stop by making a small turn into a sort of powerstop-ish position. It works but this Frankenstop is very random and "evolved", so I think it couldn't harm learning some proper techniques (and getting more aware of wtf I'm actually doing during those manoeuvres).
So that made me look for decent tutorials. The more the better because they all have their different approaches and nuances that might have that "click" with me in certain ways, or give me new insights that might me just the bit needed to push me over some hurdle. So thanks a lot! ❤
P.S. love the new wheels (and bearings) I recently bought at your shop, seems like they know how to handle some proper beatings ;)
great! enjoy the wheels and good luck practicing
One combo that I do is a mini-compass into the peanut butter. This is a great compilation.
ah cool!
A breakibg technique that I'm using a lot is doing a lot of short turn to slow down. It doesn't damage my wheels and it can be use to start a slide right after
Oh gosh! I already ate an amount of grass yesterday. And there were small rocks that were used during winter🥲. You should make this video a day earlier 🤣😂 I will try not gonna eat them next time. Many thanks for sharing these techniques.
Great video! What skates were you rocking in this video?
its a secret project we are working on
Thanks a lot for this video, it will help me to teach my friend. Question about your inline skates. Is it them 909 without soulplate and with a rockered 4*90 frame ?
That’s what they look like. I have those and haven’t even tried them out, yet. They are so sleek and beautiful looking. He skates so elegantly in them.
@@milamiles2 the question is wich frame works without soulplate and is any shell modification is necessary ?
its a them 909 without soulplate :)
@@Thisissoul Can I do this kind of setup easily ? I have to spend my money 😁
Great video. What skates are you wearing in the video?
Thats a secret project I am not allowed to talk about
@@Thisissoul fair enough! 😀
Dude went from English to the language of the gods
haha
Soul slide to powerslide is a nice combo... And spin stop to powerslide is useful if you misjudge the grip and it starts to slide... And of course soul to magic which I can't do 😢
oe soulslide to powerslide, that is a great one.
What is the brake to keep your tires from wearing out your tires?
I almost gave up on this topic with just knowing how to T-stop - as a mere fitness skater who is scared of going backwards at higher speeds there really aren't too many "easy" options, and the soul slide always seems like it's unattainable for me. Maybe the plow and sitting prep mentioned here will finally help. I'll probably stick to my "just be slow within the city" mantra though.
main thing is that you keep on practicing allot, play around and have fun
And remember to always ADAPT YOUR SPEED ! This is a mistake that even experienced rider makes. When you approach an intersection/pedestrian crossing/etc when driving with your car, you slow down in case you have to break. Well skating is the same, even more so since breaking/stopping is not as trivial as just pushing a pedal. Always look at your environnement and adapt your speed accordingly. Too many rider just want to go full send all the time. Just because you can, does not mean you should :p . If you know you might have to stop, slow down and it will make stopping that much more easier and safer.
100%
Thanks ! it helps a lot. 😊😊
6:35 hahaha ik had eerlijk gezegd ook geen idee wat het Engelse woord voor "passer" is :D
haha
And one more thing, can you make video about legs imbalance, how to fix it
My right leg is really strong and confident, while my left like beginners
hm interesting
Which stopping techniques do you think are easiest on the knees?
hmm that is a hard question. any knee injury is different and results in different techniques being easier maybe.
I have a feeling I'll master the power stop before I master the soul slide I still have no idea how that works both my knee and hip hurt so much every time I try it and nothing is sliding anywhere
I'm just hit the break behind the shoes😭 but a knee pad can be used for emergency in high speed.
Check out our video about the rockstar and proposal technique
3:27 knee stop
4:20 power slide
5:45 circle stop
6:54 compass stop
7:54 lemon stop
8:44 step step/peanut butter stop
9:31 same technique more speed
9:45 step precision stop
10:35 soul stop
11:30 curb stop
12:15 hockey stop
13:10 t-break
14:08 penguin stop
17:01 soul slide
19:01 heel break
24:33 bill stop
Great summary!
@@ThisissoulThanks! Your videos help me a lot in learning! I've improved a lot in a month and my legs are getting stronger every day, haha. Skating is a ton of fun. The only tutorial I haven't found is about sprinting! I've analysed a lot of Bill Stoppard's videos but I think a tutorial made by you guys would be a lot easier to grasp, could you do one please?
The t stops beats me up still but actually i could do the hockey stop
this is how to learn!

"BRAKING"
You got it right in the description but the title is wrong.
aah thank you so much! corrected it.
do you have online classes?
yes.
@@Thisissoul where can I found more details on them?
Sometimes I just turn in a circle while things open up lol
I wasn't expecting the language switch 😅
put on the subtitles! that helps
*braking
thank you! corrected it
gaat een lange weg zijn voor ik dit kan 😅
succes!
