20 minutes and the boys break the game in half. yet somehow they missed that the last person to score for blue was named Wally Dibben, definitely my favorite 1920's actor
SCI-FI MOOOOONTH!!!!! I love how every time they score a goal the game smash cuts to a slo-mo instant replay the exact same way a Continue? episode would, I kept hearing the Epic Maneuver song playing in my head XD. "The only way I can win is if I cheat, so I have to cheat." -Desmond Murphy, 2022. Seems like Paul took those words to heart towards the end of this episode, LOL.
Hey, Paul, the book is The Berenstain Bears and the Bad Dream. Respectfully, I don't think it's supposed to be Star Wars the book used as a reference; I think He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is the analogue the book was using. In the Berenstain Bears book, Brother Bear is playing with Space Grizzlies toys, a toyline that combines lasers and spaceships with swords and castles and other fantasy stuff, much like the He-Man toys did. Later in the book, Brother Bear finds out they are making a film based on the toy, which is what He-Man did, not Star Wars. To further my point, the He-Man film came out in 1987, while the Berenstain Bears book came out in 1988, making it topical and relevant at the time. Not only that, the He-Man cartoon isn't scary, but the live-action film has some weird crap in it that could terrify/confuse a very young kid. Beastman, Saurod and Karg? Forget about it. Thank you for attending my TEDtalk concerning a 35-year-old children's book.

I remember getting a copy of this as a kid. I think there were a handful of bargain bin PS1 games that nobody else wanted, that a local conveneince store was getting rid of as they phased out rentals, and I got this for free or really cheap? I think that's how I got it. Also that makes it sound like it was years after the PS1 but it was very early 2000s I think. I never understood this game so I basically didn't touch it. Much preferred Digimon Rumble Arena, I also got that the same way and that game was way too good for the bargain bin as a kid.
This game does have some "Rollerball" vibes, the 1975 movie not the 2002 movie. All that's missing is the crowd chanting "JONATHAN, JONATHAN, JOHNATHAN!".
Don't know if the boys figure it out, still watching. But the Bitmap Brothers made that KlashBall NES game from a few years ago. This is like an exact copy upscaled for PS1. Loving every second regardless. ❤️
RIP Homer Ramone. I mean Razor Ramon. Gladiators should be back instead of that Wipeout thingy. Damn, Josh doing what took him forever to do: Keeping on winning... Until Paul squared the game. Still. Hell yeah!!!
If you throw the ball at the stars on the wall, you earn points. I think you also earn points if you throw the ball through the weird, metallic loop-de-loops on the walls, too.
The year is 2200, 100 years after the inception of Speedball 2100. Stories are told to this day of Josh "The Wrecker" Henderson's dominance in the sport of Speedball. Edit: Watched until the end and witnessed Paul topple the empire of Josh "The Wrecker" Henderson
I put the question of why attempts to update Speedball 2 on the more modern platforms of the era (PlayStation and PC), had always turned out badly, to Mike Montgomery from The Bitmap Brod, some years ago. His reply: Mike That’s a very hard question. I think each version has it merits, but the biggest problem is people’s expectations. There are three main camps: old speedball players who want no changes, old speedball players who want changes and players who never played speedball. It’s very hard to get all three right. Satisfying one camp disappoints the others. We always tried our best to balance everyone’s expectations. Of course, the original gameplay is so good, it’s very hard to make it better
Man, this game feels like Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball on the SNES Really bad game, but at least this one has more bells and whistles than that Oh dude, Josh got clapped so hard he disappeared out of existence!

Wasn't he in a movie with Harbo Lermann?

Yo these guys have the same dance animation as Bill Landeer's Combat Basketball
8:31 Ah, Homer. The long-lost Ramone...perhaps that classic Ramones song was actually supposed to be called "Beat on the Bart".
Now this is what it's like when [clank-clank] [pinball bumper] [a-oooo-ga]
Are you ready to [ping]
'Cause I'm ready to [a-oooo-ga]
What you gonna do ["Get Laid"] [pinball bumper]
You guys released this video 78 years too early, it's only 2022!

Maybe it WAS Star Wars because of the Mandela Effect????

Things do look really nice on a CRT if you haven't seen one in awhile.

18:03 : Nick throwing the ball the wrong way. Fucking brilliant face cam moment right there ;D

Rest in Peace, Scott Hall
Shoot for near post at 45 degree angle. Produces a goal or just rush the keeper.

Noooo Mandela effect!!! Next Nick will have always been Rick!
You mean Mick.
EVERYTHING I KNOW IS A LIE @STAPLERCASE
There is a surprising amount of obscure futuristic handball games on the PS1 and I'll never understand why
Man episodes where you guys are competing. Especially at sports related games are always the best episodes.
Damn Nick edited the hell out of this one!
I remember this Book you are talking in the intro
You guys have the best intros
I had no idea they made a Speedball game for the PS1, this is great
I remember renting this game from my local mom and pop video game rental spot in the waning days of the PS1. I had fun with this one.
If you throw the ball at the stars on the wall, you earn points. I think you also earn points if you throw the ball through the weird, metallic loop-de-loops on the walls, too.
I love that Aeroplanes Flies High throw pillow.
If you’re going to play combat sports games, you’ve got to play the best of the best and those are Pitball on PS1 and Deathrow on Xbox.
Yoooo! I remember that Bearenstein bears book! Brother bear was into SPACE GRIZZLIES!
this was too freaking funny the rise and fall of josh was just too great and hilarious to watch too good
Yo they actually played a speedball game for Drunkstravaganza 2 remember?
Wooo a continue episode can't wait to see what it beholds ^^
No one wants to breed more than Josh. No one.
Do not get between him and his liscence.
The boys! Great video as always
Cant wait for Josh's appearance in the Norsemen movie
you've done it again Bill Laimbeer, you maniac
“Sounds like now” is the most accurate quote ever
They've Square adapted. I think you guys should consider doing a special episode of a tournament of this game and Windjammers.
"gethefukinthaaaiiirrrrr!!"

Love the multiplayer episodes!
I forgot this game existed
This video contains goaltenders
LEGENDARY
Loved this game as a kid
"Dude that's disgusting"
RIP Razor Ramon
GET LAID!
This game sounds hilarious.
This looks too much like Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball.
The series actually predates Bill Lambeer's Combat Basketball by 2 years
I don't remember that scene from the book.
The rivets are to add grippage.
Sci-Fi meets XTREME sports? Did you guys secretly fund this game back in the day?

Not to be nihilistic but given the direction the world has been going in the last few decades, I would hesitate to wish it was 2100.
Sci-fi month!
Man, this game feels like Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball on the SNES
Really bad game, but at least this one has more bells and whistles than that
Oh dude, Josh got clapped so hard he disappeared out of existence!
